For a very beginner, this is the very best grip video on the whole interwebs. Great breakdown of both hands. I've watched several videos where they tell me what to do but none has been this good with showing me. Thanks a ton.

That is the grip I used to have, but by watching so many "How to stop your slice" videos that dealt with grip I changed it and have been sooo inconsistent off the tee this year. Definitely going back to my old grip. Thanks Dave!!!!!!

The best tutorial on grip that I've seen (and I've watched a lot of vids). This is going to be a great series with Dave the Pro. Looking forward to more. Now I've got to go try this as I've tried a lot of grip positions lately.

Reading Ben Hogans 5 lessons book, the first lesson in the book is this grip, its nice to see it simply explained in a video as well. it takes time to get used to, but when it’s right, a drive down the middle as a 19 handicapper is brilliant to see and it’s amazing how the top thumb in the wrong position can affect the shot.

This video changed my game. I had grip correctly in fingers, but thumb long and wrong, for 15 years. Driver went a banana slice - 210y long and 150y left. I'd given up and just been playing it, lining up to start it waaay right. Or more often just leaving woods in bag and going WOTP.
Dave the Rave pointed out the "short thumb" and the💡went on. 1 range session later, and I've now played 2 rounds and hit 18(!!!) 250y straight drives. 2 bad'uns, 1 per round. Unbelievable. Missed most greens because mid-short irons and wedges now have a little draw on instead of slice. My buddies are even more surprised - couple new subs for you Liam haha.
Crazy frustrating that's it's something so small, but thanks so much Dave!!! Seriously, I'm a totally different golfer and excited to relearn how to aim for my new ball flights.

The kettle idea is good for those who don't have pets or small children! Or a Kitchen big enough. Lol.
I watched a great coaching vid with Monty recently, and he went into a bit of detail about the pressure in the grip, at address and throughout the swing. It was saying how important grip pressure is to forearm tension I think. Well worth a scan.
Oh ye and great vid Dave.

Dave, My Local Pro has made me turn my left hand round more nearly showing 2/ 3 Knuckles as I had a problem om coming over the Top and not Compressing the ball enough! I have had to change my swing path to more in to in to stop this. he placed 3 balls on an angle and I have to hit the middle ball... If I go wrong and come over the Top I would hit the left hand ball and visa versa!! It has gained me distance and a better shot but kills my arm having to grip my left hand so far round!!! Love your video's and rate you very highly! All the Best Nik Bird. West Sussex.
