We don't have a gym. But we now have 38 acres of nature trails basically in our Northern Michigan backyard and a lab retriever to walk, run, or bike them with. So, I've been going every day after dropping the kids at school, and journaling. It is *so* helpful throughout the day for my sense of self control and health. I talk less when I walk & write more. I'm less needy. I text my husband less often throughout the day. I hope it makes me less controlling, more flexible and adaptive. Maybe I should add stretching. There is a side benefit: the forest and fields and garden are so so beautiful! I take my camera. It is awe striking with fresh air in a way I don't feel in a gym. Or a dance studio. Now, I'm not building muscle much yet. Just the routine. The habits of movement that get addicting. And it makes me faster at chores because it's motivating to get out there. I hope it's making me a better mom, more capable, more aware. More self-reliant. More reliable in general. More caring.
Chosing how to react is huge. A narcissist wants to make you the ptoblem. My husband says, I cant wait to get home so I can put a padlock on the basement door to get away from you. Pearl Davis tells my husband im the problem because im a feminist 😢
