Went out yesterday started off slow but we figured things out then got a smaller Chinook and then got a massive one I look over barely pick up the rod and in 3 seconds it stripped line from 35 to 100 feet then 2 more and then 100 to 150
I know you guys dont do alot of bottom fishing.. but salmon bellies is the ticket here in BC! Also dont feel as bad when you get a nice hali or ling with it
I actually threw all my fluorocarbon in the trash. I fished that exact fishery two weeks ago and had 3 or 4 fish snap 50lb like a twig. Never lost a single to fish to good old 40lb Maxima.
I did really enjoy the video. Thank you and thank you for storing my electric motorized kayak. Hopefully you will be drawing my name soon. When do you think you will be advertising the next addicted Bash for the fall and winter
I’m just getting back into fishing, caught a couple coho’s and fillet them at the dock. Then I remembered what I used to do. Take a horse curry comb to clean the scales and slime off the fish, gut the fish can pull off the belly fins at this point then back on ice. At home throw onto news paper and fillet, trim vacuum pack. And the chamber vac is the only way to go! You guys might be out long enough to get fish good and cold, I’m normally fishing just a few guys and out and back before the fish gets chilled good enough to fillet, they cut so much better cold.
i like to use the back of a spoon to get the blood out of the eggs.just so i dont cut into the skeins.thanks marlin that was a good ol beat down bro, thanks for sharing with us
I’m dumb and confused on regulations. Those were all wild kings but keepable? Is it because fall run are going to die hitting tributaries? I know we can keep anything in the Deschutes river right now.
That belly meat of the salmon can used for crab or halibut bait. Halibut love salmon even the head. My grandpa was in kodiak Alaska most of his life b&b charter. big butts charter. He passed away a while back.
I do Kokanee mostly, went salmon fishing for the first few times in my kayak. It was not enjoyable with everyone stacked up on top of each other, not paying attention. Esp the party-charter boats.
Damn that sucks. Out here in the gorge I get up at 6, take my time, hit the water at 7, and if the fish are biting I'm done and in by 8 and getting some work done by 8:30
LMAO "It's Runnin!" as he continues to reel. I notice the majority, 99%, of clients never stop reeling, even when the fish is running or if the fish is staying still, they'll still be reeling and not gaining any ground. I'm assuming guides set the reels somewhat loose based on these facts, which in turn allows them to never stop reeling lol. Very rarely do you see anyone thumb the drag, pull up, reel down, etc.
It's like this kids if you ain't brakin shit then you ain't doin it right 😁 I broke one real on a fish this year and still brought the fish home ... it was epic! 💞💯
Hi, I love your channel. I started watching it as I’m looking for trout and salmon recommendations for great lakes fishing. I’m originally from California, so I love fishing for trout and was happy to find they have them in Wisconsin. Have you guys ever tried any of your methods on the great lakes? Anyway, I’m really interested to try those Kokanee plugs… fishing from a kayak. Thanks for your content. I really enjoy Jordans, great attitude and all of the team members footage and beautiful short films. I lived in northeastern Nevada not far from Idaho for several years so a lot of the footage you get of. Some of those rivers brings back a lot of memories simple thing. I have fished Lahontan cutthroat before. Stay fishy 😊 Cheers from the Milwaukee area 😊
If I didn't know better... I'd think those fish were springers. All of them 12 to 16 pounds except for the one? I hope the days of the 30lb URB's aren't over?
Props for not spraying down your fillets. Nothing frustrates me more than seeing someone fillet their fish and ruin the meat by running it under water. Or even worse spraying the fillets with the boat hose (columbia river water). I see guides do this to their clients fish all the time! Wtf. Besides the parasites, the taste of non water rinsed (even no tap water ) is much better. Very noticeable. Good job! I go through atleast one roll of paper towels per fillet lol. It's worth it.
I know there’s an older video, but it’s not so much as you won’t catch fish. It’s bad luck cause your boat will sink or create problems. I knew a guy that thought the same thing took a banana on someone’s boat. The next weekend that guy went out with his guest in the boat end up sinking.
I waited all week for the newest video to drop. Absolutely love the channel can't wait for the next one.
Yes, bring back hunting!!! 🦌🦃🦆
Love it when you're trolling and the clicker starts going!!
I love Shawn's positivity saying Double right out of the gate!!!
8:40 hey, that is me in the background in the teal North River

You should bring the addicted hunting back. I'm moose hunting in Alaska right now!
Lots of stuff I need to try from the potato salad to the VacMaster. Marlin you’re an artist.

Great episode Marlin. Can't wait for the next adventure.
I actually threw all my fluorocarbon in the trash. I fished that exact fishery two weeks ago and had 3 or 4 fish snap 50lb like a twig. Never lost a single to fish to good old 40lb Maxima.
I just switched back to mono. Lost to many between that day and others. Good move 👍
Started bleeding the fish I had just caught today, looked up and there was Cam. He is such good luck when he's around LOL.
Also, if you let your fish sit in ice for 8 too 24 hrs before you fillet it, it is so much better quality, it makes for better storage also
Never bet against the banana! I have personally seen it work, and it usually does not take long. Thanks , guys. I needed a good laugh this morning.
Absolutely you guys should get going on hunting content again!
YES!!
I didnt know they made hunting content.
That looks like so much fun, I’d love to make it down there someday soon!
Shawn's rod all day!

I’m dumb and confused on regulations. Those were all wild kings but keepable? Is it because fall run are going to die hitting tributaries? I know we can keep anything in the Deschutes river right now.
Keep whatever ya want, fishing is fishing, i dont keep anything because fish isnt my food

You have to keep pressure while fighting a fish. This your first time?? Let slack in the line and they head shake free 🤦♂️
It's like this kids if you ain't brakin shit then you ain't doin it right 😁

Watch out, here comes Hot Rod. And they don't call me Hot Rod because I drive to fast! (SHAWN) L8R Bench Expert Out.....
If I didn't know better... I'd think those fish were springers. All of them 12 to 16 pounds except for the one? I hope the days of the 30lb URB's aren't over?
