What a great interview. Pure honesty. It’s like listening in to a couple of friends just shooting the breeze. Thank you so much for this post. Loved it.
That was a really interesting conversation (and great interview!). That comment about really great marketing companies that sell bikes seemed very apt! 🙂
I bought a V+1 from Vielo last November and all I can say is they are as helpful as they say , in fact more so. Mine was sized to fit me by Ian and Jen’s accounting for some joint mobility issues then custom’d to my needs with a 10-50 cassette and 50mm tyres with traditional stem for easy adjustment in the future. They are all they say and having recently completed the 100 mile in a day milestone so is the bike itself, I could not recommend Vielo more, if you want a bike that does British roads in comfort with speed look no further.
My friend still has his dave yates 853 custom mountain bike, built up now as a psuedo flat bar gravel bike, he has other bikes, but the dave yates just holds a special place. I have an old raleigh RSP ti mountain bike, still used and much loved Both these frames are knocking on for 30 years, still used and much loved ❤
Good history lesson for me. Various people disagree but the gravel/adventure/touring bike is changing my thinking especially wrt mountain and road tradition. Made me think of the bike classification video you created Simon.
What a great conversation. Ian and I are a similar age and think the same. Watching this has given me a kick up the backside to work on my own bike brand more. Thanks Simon.
What an interesting guy, 70 years old and still active and running his own business. This confirms my belief that retirement as we do it in the UK, indeed most of the Western world, is just the wrong way to go. It's an outdated concept and is a shortcut to the end IMHO. Stay active, stay interested!
Great film & even greater story. I have to agree there is far too much 'bullsh1t baffles brains' on TH-cam re bikes & bike tech. Completely unnecessary. i bought a mason bokeh, one of the things i liked (like vieloi guess) is changes are only made for changes sake and real product development. One of the beauties of small companies and their boutiques.
Love a good story behind a company. Never ceases to amaze me how much work goes into it all.

What a good interview and a great story behind his Vielo brand.
Thanks Simon and Ian, emphasising all round exercise where possible. And looking at tyre width for comfort, no speed required for my trips out!
I spent 10 years in ILR radio love the bit were Ian says "the industry itself I wasn't quite so sure of" 11:30 great vid Simon keep it up
Lovely to see how this turned out. Thanks for coming to see us !
Thanks for your time!

Dude looks good for 70!
So do the bikes.
Cheers

Very interesting conversation. Let’s have more of them, please.
There are lots of audio podcasts at Always Another Adventure. Taking a break after this one for a while.

i remember back in the day it would be a luxury to have a custom built 531 joe waugh, dave yates or paul Donahue frame.its mainly off the peg now.
Yup l have a Joe waugh 631 custom build 30 yrs old still most comfortable bike l have
A cheap made-to-measure Reynolds 525 frame will ride better than a one-size $5000 carbon one.
Credit to you Ian 👍🇬🇧
Simon, did you realize how emotional Ian got at the moment he referred to a client’s compliment? You jumped right to the next question!
Sorry. It’ll be the last podcast for a while so you won’t have to listen to my rubbish.
@@alwaysanotheradventure Sorry, didn’t intend to insult you or be negative! I love your contend and always enjoy your new posts 👍🏻
why is the Quality so low 360p ?
Good point - I uploaded a 1080p timeline yet YT has this as 360 optimal. Honestly no idea!
Ah - except it's uploaded as a podcast so perhaps YT expects it to be audio only.
@@alwaysanotheradventure nah there must be a setting
Looks like an honest guy and firm.do they sell in belgium.......
Probably best to ask them
Marita @vielo.cc
There are some really good marketing companies who let the chinese build bikes.
Don't say you're getting older. Moses lived to 120 and God had to kill him because he couldn't die after he saw God's Glory.
