Ive got a 320i m20b20, whats the easyest engine to swap without modifications? (except de wiring of course) m50 / m52 2 liters?
Any m50/52 swap would be the same amount of effort regardless of engine displacement.
I would suggest an m50b25 from an e34 if you want an easy swap 👍
U need e36 engine mounts, so m50b25 non vanos from e36 would also be fairly easy. U will still need e34 carter and oil bar (dont know english name)

I am going to be doing another e30 m5x build which will be a lot more involved this time more of a series style in the new year, so sub to the channel and keep an eye on our video’s. Car and engine are both here ready to go, we just need to get the camera’s rolling 👌

Hi bro . I finished my m52b28 on e30 . But have some problem . First have only one sensor with 4 pin so doesn’t work my temperature geuge .
2- have limit its stopping at 5200 rpm not going anymore 3. Windows and hot fan doesn’t work .

The first problem you have is because you have to run the original e30 temp sensor, the e36 doesn’t work. Because the e36 is 4 pin and it’s Double, you have to Drill s second hole in the head and make a thread for it (look for m50 pictures the had two sensors to see where to place it)
Second issue is that your ecu is missing a speed signal, you have to wire it from the odometer which has a green connector on its back with a few pins. Those pins all provide a speed signal, make a wire to the engine loom and your problem will be solved.
Windows Check the fuse snd relays or ground wires maybe you’re missing something. The fan needs a sensor bolted to the radiator, are you Running a sensor? Is it wired?

Since you had the engine out missed the chance to install oil pump chain tensioner. The nut will hold with the safety wire, but the shaft could snap. Typical BMW engineering SNAFU.
