Not everyone is into saddle making as a leather crafter. Seems all that illume wants to make videos on. No sense in renewing my subscription if all illume wants to do is make saddle making content. Saddle makers are the minority of leather crafters. No offense meant, but many of us yearn for a magazine like the old leather craftsman that makes modern articles and patterns. Today's leather magazines concentrate on saddle making and intricate carving articles. That does not reflect on who the majority and average leather crafter is.
@@travismorgan7315 Lol. Noted. I won't waste my money on a magazine like this. When enough of us decide the same, then you can write your own magazine and try to sell it. I can watch that magazine not get subscribers too. Saddle makers are the extreme minority of leather crafters. Nothing wrong with those who want to make saddles. There is something wrong with a magazine disguising itself as a crafting magazine that only wants to produce saddle maker content. This is the reason the two magazine that are sold to leathercrafters, struggle with gaining subscribers. They forgot who the bulk of the readers ARE. I would be better off buying books or paying for a membership someplace else, to get more valuable content. You seem to like it, great. I think you are in the minority and at some point there will be no more Illume because it's not written for most leathercrafters. Companies that do not listen to their paying customers are doomed to failure. It's not like this would be a big loss, IMO.

Man I think they do a great job. Sure they have videos and articles on saddle making. They also have boot making and businesses that do firefighting gear. Pretty much all aspects of the craft. How about go to a show and talk to them or pick up the phone and have a conversation. For years the biggest issue with the horse show community was the community tearing each other down. You will always have that no matter what hobby or trade you are a part of but eventually you either try to be a part of the solution or take your toys and play in your own sandbox.
@@jamesw.3491 have you been on their platform? They literally have everything…. From holsters, wallets, boots, saddles, chaps, different upholstery techniques, how to use different exotics. How to care for tools and a business class. Tons of different instructors that are at the top of the industry. Not to mention what magazine are you reading? Even the issues that have an article about a saddle maker has plenty of information on other aspects of leather. Im not looking to argue but you are just wrong.
Im not a saddle baker, but I got a lot of knowledge out of this video. Thanks
We love to hear that!
