    Wavestate sounded amazing. The new update is like its own synth. I don't buy much hardware but Wavestate is on my radar for 2022. Thanks, John for the work you do with Unify and these patches.

    By far, you just brought me deeper into the Wavestate Native plugin's capabilities than any other demo or tutorial on TH-cam managed to do. Thank you SO MUCH!!!

    Thank you I learned more on this video then I did in 3 days of others. What an in depth analysis of the inner workings in this beautiful synth.

    Wavestate is so powerful, really deserved a bigger/higher res screen on the panel - looking forward to the SE. Still have my original Wavestation.. still sounds excellent.

      @Snake Plissken Well, I'd like to suggest to Korg to add an HDMI output (maybe it would have been something for the Wavestate SE). So then you could plug any size monitor you like into it, and still use it as a standalone product - just being able to visualize the wavesequence lanes as clearly as in the editor would be awesome - in fact with many digital synths these days running a full blown OS under the hood, there is no reason this would be particularly difficult.

    Thank you for creating this video! I feel like the Wavestate just opened wide up with the new Editor and you gave such a great overview of the Wavestate in general, while also going through the editor. Nice job!

    Great video, thanks for this. I've had the Wavestate for a few months, and your walkthrough particularly helped me understand a couple of things I was still a little hazy on, the mod knobs performance vs layer modes especially. The editor is obviously the undisputed star of this update, I don't think I need to explain just how much it improves the workflow, you've done a great job of demoing that here. It wasn't terrible before, probably about as good a hardware UI as one could expect from such a deep and complex engine, but the software just makes it a dream to design and program, and you can use the hardware to focus on all the great performance features. There are other things in this update that are more modest but still just add so much. Performance hold is great, and just the addition of a User category, and the ability to assign two categories to a patch are incredibly useful. Anyway, thanks for the deep look at the editor workflow, I'm excited about this synth all over again.

    Thank you for this tutorial on the editor. 🙏👌👌
    Wavestate is so deep and enormous, going through the library itself would take time
    The amount of samples included is humungous
    And the performances are state of the art, tweak any knob and the whole complexity changes
    Amazing 🤩

    Now Wavestate really is a “pro” workstation, maybe thanks to the upcoming SE edition. Great tutorial, and great patch in the end.

    Excellent Video - Answered a lot of questions. I was especially confused around the Wave Timing with more than one sample as it kept triggering the second sample after I released the key. I have a much better understanding now and will be keeping this vid in my Favs list.

    John, given its capabilities, plus the ability to add your samples, don't you think Wavestate would be preferable to MODSTATE, for building soundscapes and evolving pads? Thanks.

    I wonder too if with timekorg will release a wavestate plugin version. Same as they did with the original Wavestation.

    • @PlugInGuruVideo
      @PlugInGuruVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guarantee you at some point they will - but they seem to be going in a chronological sequence - meaning they have a LOT of other synths to do before they get to a software version of Wavestate. So in 5 years? Maybe?

    • @ptkelly80
      @ptkelly80 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As much as I’d love to see that, doing so this soon would cut into their hardware sales significantly.

      @@dddayesq5061 - you have to use their Korg Sample Builder application to map the samples and then export them as a file that can then be accessed in the Wavestate Native Plug-in. So it's a little confusing but totally possible... you just can't load them directly into Wavestate Native.

    How does this hardware compare to the iWavestate for the iPad Pro (besides the obvious hardware buttons and knobs)? I own all the Korg apps for the iPad pro, which includes the Wavestate apps. I also own a Kronos 2 platinum. Knowing all this, would getting a Wavestate be overkill or even necessary?

    • @AnalogNoiseLab
      @AnalogNoiseLab 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      iWavestation is based on the Wavestation and is therefore very different from the Wavestate.
      The Wavestate is unique and innovative - there is really not anything that compares to it either in software or hardware.
      So it would not be overkill to get one at all. Whether it’s necessary or not only yourself can answer that :o)
