There is mounted archery, too! much harder as you need to reload the bow with no hands and still control the horse, but most people run on tracks so they dont need to control the horse. Its easier with a track but still impressive!!

THIS IS NOT A HATE COMMENT! In my opinion, mounted shooting is dangerous both for horse and rider. What if the bullet bounces back and hits the horse, or worse the rider? Mounted shooting seems really fun but it’s just extremely risky.
I get your concerns, but they are not firing any live round so there are no bullets what comes out of the riffle is just black powder, this event would not exists if they where firing live rounds( bullets) cus yes that would be way to dangerous.
I wish I wasn't professionally diagnosed with a mental disorder, I would so get a licence to wield a gun purely for this. Quarter horses are just good at anything.
It's looking pretty cool but isn't that way too dangerous for a public event? What happens when they miss or the bullet hits a wall or something like that, can't go through and doesn't get stuck in there so it goes back? People or the horses could be shot. Or isn't that a real bullet?
I've never been to a real competition, but during a practice session (where I work) we use airsoft bullets. Airsoft bullets don't hurt unless you have the end of the gun right up against your skin. I would assume they use the same in real competitions.
It is black powder so even if hey miss it won’t hurt anyone. It is a spray of powder that can on,y shoot about 20 feet. It is quite loud so the horses wear hearing protection

Its black powder its not a bullet. The powder burns the balloon thats why it pops. It can go up to 20 feet. 😊
