A couple years ago I was shopping for a used Accord coupe but decided against them due to harsh ride on all the upper trim levels. Then one day I was driving past a Jeep dealership and saw a drop dead gorgeous silver 2017 Accord Touring coupe with full Honda Performance conversion. I won't event get into how perfect it was and how I lost sleep for a week over whether to buy it. I'll just say that I test drove it expecting the HP conversion to make it even harsher than standard Accords but discovered the opposite. Its ride was sublime. Apparently the HP struts and wheels are not just sportier but also give it a better ride.
I have an '19 Civic in Aegean Blue. I've had people stop me as i'm getting into or out of the car saying how much they love the colour. Honda/Acura have great blue paint colours.
I really like the redesign of the si. I do wish HPD had more than just cosmetic accessories. I would love to see factory warranty with small stuff like a 25mm lowering spring or an intake/exhaust option. And it would be incredible if there was something like dodge offers with the scat pack where you could get intake/exhaust/tune or even cams and headers if you wanted to spend the money
My 1st car was a 95 Honda Civic Si Coupe, loved that car. Maybe in an alternative universe Honda will make coupes again. I think this design would look really good in a coupe
They had SI coupes last generation but it didn't sell so well. Specs are too outdated. I feel like they're doing the same thing to the new Si and Integra.
My first car was a used 89 Civic Si I bought in 93. Solidified my love of Honda engines and manual transmissions and I have owned several Hondas since then, currently in my '12 Fit Sport which reminds me of that first Si I had. I still miss that 89 Si! Wish they would do the Si in a hatchback version again.
That would have been fun for them to have an old Accord for size comparison on the new Civic. I know I know that's not where you would do it but still would be neat to see.
There was a 92 accord and a new civic in my parking lot at work today. Yes the accord was way smaller and had a naturally aspirated engine with no oil dillution
So can we find a 7th gen si now for dirt cheap? It is underrated and looks like the original. I mean it is still a fun car though. BTW I agree the 99 coupe was my favorite! I want a blue one.
@@ekgcanadianenthusiast9961 so true the new design isnt as bad as people are complaining about. It looks much nicer in person. The 11th gen in blue is very beautiful. It will look even better within a year or two as Honda updates it and when after market parts are widely available. I am waiting for the new type r!
It's not a bad design it's just not a Civic. It's a mini accord and trying to look like a bunch of luxury cars as well. It's boring and not unique. Oh I'm sorry I meant "mature". I do really like the SI version though.
Apart from the gloss black horror that is the interior, I think this new Civic Si is fine for what it is. A Hondata tune will definitely breathe more life into the car. Personally I wanted an Si Hatchback with an auto, but thankfully Acura came out with the next gen ILX ;)
It’s crazy how nice this vehicle is when you actually go to a dealership and sit in one. For of those of you contemplating buying one, don’t let your opinions on Hondas of old sway you from getting one. The only thing I would recommend is getting a manual if you like to have spirited driving because while car drives nice, it just doesn’t feel all that inspiring if you try to floor it. I would love to see the Si tuned to like 300 HP
My grandpa had a 1985 Renault Alliance in the same color. He loved it. It was ok on the reliability. He loved it until the late 90s when parts became hard to find.
Hp is only 200??? Outrageous. Should be 500,000. And it costs too much. It should only be $600 more. Me waiting in passenger seat of my daily driver, 2011s top rated minivan. Waiting for a harried slightly overweight woman questioning every decision she's ever made to drive me to school. My backup ride: Nike.
I like the center exit exhaust on my 19 Si, once I upgraded to an injen dual tip cb it sealed the look of the back of the car for me.. This is nice though, not complaining but wish the kept the center exit
Why Hyundai couldn't keep the clean design of the 17 Elantra Sport, I'll never know.....This new Civic has nailed the clean and attractive design, that's appealing to a broad age-range. Kudos Honda!
The more I see it the more I like it. Especially like the full decked out version with these sweet blacked out emblem. Not sure I’ll ever like it as much as my newest gen. Mazda 3 as far as looks are concerned however.
Hope you enjoyed your stay in Westlake Village, I used to live in the area years ago. Definitely disappointed that Honda didn't really have a stand at the LA Auto Show, though I did get to drive a Civic Sport Touring for a ride & drive at the show.

Here's what Honda left out, no power seat for the driver, no USB or power connections in the rear, no rear seat center armrest, and no engine temperature gauge in the instrument cluster. All inexcusable in a $30 thousand dollar car.
That OG civic hatch has nicer seats than the 2022. I know its meant to be a cheap fun car. But honda seems to have focused too much on the cheap, and not enough on the fun. Oh and the price went up so there is that. Get rid of some of the tech junk and make an enthusiast car. If you cant rev match your own gears and start moving from on an incline, maybe you shouldnt be driving manual. If you cant use reverse or change lanes without lights and beeps preventing you from hitting things, maybe you shouldnt drive at all. All these "features" make cars cost $10k more than they should just because people cant drive.
@@smath5841 Thank sleepy joe for that. Its not inflation though. Its idiots have proven they cant drive in a straight line without flying into a ditch or another vehicle. If they made a car like that no one would buy it. The 8th Gen Si didn't have those features and it wasn't $10k cheaper, in fact adjusted for inflation they are basically the same price. Also if you get side swiped in an 89 Civic you are dead.
Looks fantastic. However, I’m happy with my fa5 and would never finance a 1.5L turbo unless it’s in a brand new remanufactured 92-95 eg si from factory.
No Kirk stop it. Theres no resemblance between the 86 civic and modern day civics, I doubt the engineers even tried. Civics look like accords and now the new integra look like a modern day civic. With the resembles so strong they had to slap a big ass integra decal that covered both front and back doors. Also if Acura is now the racing division of Honda. What is a Type R?
It's smaller then the new accord. It's actually a true midsized sedan now vs the accord which is a full size sedan. I have an accord and the civic si is everything I wish the accord sport was.
@@drmvp21 That might work out well for you, but for those of us looking for a smaller sedan/hatch, we are out of luck. If they were planing on making the Civic larger, they should’ve introduced a newer small car to replace like VW did with the Golf and Polo
Would it kill them to offer a silver wheel option? Black hides half the details of the wheel. The 11th gen looks ok but it probably still sounds like a dying vacuum.
Seems silly to call some extra body clading performance. The fact that the Si produces similar hp as a stock Civic, there is no difference except for looks. Would have been great if Honda would have truly bridged the gap between the Type R and regular civic with the Si. Instead we got some performance looks with no substance.

My only complaint is that isn’t a coupe... I think the car would look better as one.
