The solution itself is very simple however, to work out that's how it opens is certainly not! It could take you days or weeks to finally figure out how it opens yet it can be done, as you'll see later in the video in less than five seconds.

Got this as a xmas present yesterday. Spent some time with it, listening to the small pieces inside making the sound when turning the puzzle. Then, after a beer or two, just started thinking is there any way to move those pieces into a "controlled" position and thought about centrifugal force by spinning it a few times and the damn thing got opened! :)

3.36 after seeing your solution
I was actually able to get it open by shaking one side at a time. Took a lot longer but still got at the concept. Not my favorite puzzle

This is A solution, not THE solution. I found 2 quite much faster ways. Both same concept as this. Just quicker

I have a faster method ..one step

Place the puzzle on its side standing upright on edge ..then spin the puzzle as if you were spinning a quarter , let it fall and it will be able to open with one step

I despise this puzzle. Requires zero logic (mostly luck), and you literally can't DO anything until you stumble upon the ridiculous solve. Worst Hanayama puzzle by far, for me.

It requires knowledge of basic rules of physics, and logical thinking by putting them to use.
Don't be bitter because you couldn't figure it out. It's a great puzzle.

@@Mrs.SaturnX if I could see anything, I'd agree. I know physics well. I no longer think it's the worst (I own them all now), but I think it's bottom 25% for sure.
