The slut shaming for being friends with boys is so much relatable to me. My teachers have done the same thing. Even the girls in my class used speak ill of me. It used to affect me a lot mentally, but I acted like a strong person. I'm 30 now but still the memories are painful.

I have a feeling this interview is going to change the way film makers look at Priya. Mostly we see Priya being portrayed as 'instant fame' 'wink girl' 'hyped' etc. The media had never allowed her the space to understand her as an individual, Dhanya has exposed this side to her. If a girl is friendly with boys, she is a 'vedi'. If a boy is comfortable around girls, he is a 'kozhi'. If a boy doesn't 'act tough', he is a 'kundan'... the list goes on.
It looks like the biggest struggle we faced growing up in Kerala, knowingly or unknowingly, till we reached mid 20s had been to 'fit in with the social norms' (by faking when required) and 'escape unhurt'.

This interview is definitely something different! The in-site and uniqueness that we are able to witness through priya incomparable. To be honest, my perspective on the actress herself has changed through this video, it just made me realize how we are so careless and doesn’t try to understand a person for who they are other than just being like “oh okay she’s just an actress who became famous instantly”. Some teachers can be real b**ches. The traumas they inflict on young minds are so deep and murky. And the worst part is they don’t even realise that it takes so much of strength for that student to feel alive. And some simply spiral down. And these idiots can’t really think any better than immoral illicit relationships between boys and girls. And that too about their goddamn students!
And it’s appreciable that Priya just braved it all. And she really has a flair with words.

I had never seen any interview of Priya before ,not even when she became so popular with that one scene in OAL but after seeing this interview I can say that she is way mature for her age and has so much clarity in her thoughts and has beautifully spoken about the highs and lows of her life. I hope she gets the much needed break in her acting career. Another suggestion to the people behind the camera and even to the host is to avoid clickbait titles. I don't think it is necessary for this channel and this show. You guys are doing a fab job in bringing out the real people behind those reel faces we see on camera. Kudos to the team for maintaining a healthy discussion with the guests.
