Moana is the most streamed movie in terms of ALL platforms over the last 5yrs, nothing else comes close! So given Moana 2's lukewarm critics' reviews, will be so interesting to see the audience reaction re the usual metrics of CinemaScore, RT & PostTrak scores & if they have any effect on its Box Office.
Yeah, it's in the weekly top 10 every time there's any kind of derth in the new releases (and often otherwise as well). Encanto used to be there regularly too, but seems to have fallen behind in this regard.
That's crazy. I saw it again and found it to be better than I remembered, but still it's surprising that it was THAT popular. No wonder they rushed this into theaters
@@masterofallgoons Yeah it's insanely popular so it's not surprising they rushed to convert what was initially meant to be a D+ show into what they're clearly hoping will be a billion dollar box office hit!
3:03 I literally thought the same thing after watching it. It’s exactly like a Disney direct-to-video sequel from the 90s & 00s. I really liked the first Moana, but this was a real step down, and you can it was originally meant to be for television based on the structure and pacing of it. 5.5/10 It’s watchable, but not as memorable as the first.
Interesting to bring up Inside Out 2 as the example of the film that “takes risks and does something new with the character” considering I found it, like Moana 2, to basically be a much worse retread of its predecessor.
What's the difference between inside out one and inside out two??? Cuz they're quite literally the same plot points Rewatch them back to back. It's about her getting older and freaking out and not knowing how to deal with it. Literally the same movie twice but everybody loved that crappy movie too. I mean I'm not going to say it's crappy but it was overrated as hell
You can see even in the trailers that the visuals are TV budget level which is how this movie started out as a TV show. This is not state of the art or pushing the boundaries in any way.

@@AllInTheGame01 - Yes, and even if nobody really cares for it, it's bound to make a huge return just riding off of the popularity of the first movie.
I hope it crashes but knowing the D acolytes, they'll eat up all the trash Disney dumps.
This film was originally 3 episodes of the Disney+ planned series. It was retooled to be a feature film.
Moana 2: Electric Boogaloo
Actually, you're not too far off when you see where this ends up.
This joke will never die lol

If you're keeping track of scores, Alonso would still rather be watching Red One.
"Mo' Ana" 🤣👍
Moana 2: "the search for more money, as we at Disney realised putting things straight to streaming does not make any."
Rewatching “Moana” since it’s the most watched film on Disney+. It’s certainly charming but hard to understand the huge repeat viewing #’s.

Lmm ducking Disney really shows how he's been caring them.
this was meant to be disney+ series no? So they might have structured it for that. I didnt love the first Moana
Wondering if I should see this
Mo’ Ana is funny af
I love Moana ❤
This was going to be a TV show, so maybe the ending is like that because it was actually the season finale.
Ah that makes sense.
Lin Manuel was not back for this
Right ... that's what we're saying.
Wouldn’t “Mo’ Ana” be a better name for Frozen 2? 😜
I cant hear Wayfinder without thinking of Rise of Skywalker. That movie ruined the word forever for me, sorry!
Moana part 1 is good

No thanks to this, the animation to me is not impressive, the style in which the characters look just doesn't do it for me.
“Meh”- ana… songs are a big downgrade this time around but my kids enjoyed it.
They're not nearly as good, it's true.
Moana 2: Laugh Tale 😂
More euro centric films from Disney ...please
Bro just go to one of your white hood parties.
