The Zoo arc has to be one of my favourites in the show. So interesting and well-paced, a song, and Pearl's final speech was so satisfying ❤

A nice detail about Amethysts and Rose Quartzes, is that Holly Blue Agate said Amethysts were relocated AFTER Pink's shattering. And if you remember, Amethysts are supposed to be soldiers but now they're the Zoo and its humans' caretakers, which we see they don't do very well.
Now, what kind of gem existed BEFORE Pink's shattering and whom we see has a very nice connection with humans? Rose Quartz. So we can guess that the Rose Quartzes were the original caretakers of the zoo and its humans before Steven's mom's incident.
That makes a lot of sense, we also know from Future that they tend to have a similar temperament to the other quartzes so they'd be equally suited to the task.

I don't know, I think the Amethysts did a pretty good job rounding up the humans and talking them through their sadness.

Yellow isn't asking Blue what the point of feeling sad is; she's asking her what the point is of feeling at all

Pearl roasting Holly Blue is literally the best part of the whole ep! Yellow’s song is really good too.

The parallels between “What’s the Use of Feeling Blue” and “Why don’t you talk to each other” is sooooooo good! I can’t believe when the show was airing I never caught this until a rewatch later on. I hope they’re catching on to the hints but also I really hope they have no clue about PD until the reveals. I love SU so much. 🤩
What I love the most about this arc is that it confirms that quartzes are just cool at the core

Its definitely an acquired taste, it's not really melodic or gentle sounding. It's very detached and cold much like Yellow herself.

Pearl calling Holly Blue out in the end there was just so damn epic!
I love the bit with the Famethyst so much. After all that time being bothered that she was short and different from what she was supposed to be, Amethyst meets her family...and they don't care that she's different. They're just glad to see her.
What's the use of feeling blue may me feel depressed. Yellow Diamond sang to Blue about thinking Pink Diamond. Sometimes, it's hard to think about someone you missed

The gems in the bubbles around Blue and Yellow Diamond are all Rose Quartz. That's why Steven was looking at them and his own.

Blue's response to grief was to let it consume her. she abandons he responsibilities, and spends all her time grieving, even 5000 years after the fact
Yellow's response to gried was to bush it down, bury it, throw herself into her work and responsibilities, and do everything in her power to avoid he pain, while it deeply grows within her, ready to come out the moment she slips
neither is healthy. yellow is ight that blue needs to pull herself out, but yellow is wrong in how keeps it all pent up in herself.
daimonds are strong but they are still brittle, too much pressure and they with shatter!

There really are four Diamonds. If you notice the symbol of Homeworld, you get to see what color the last Diamond is. The symbol from Era 1 had four diamonds, while the one from Era 2 has three diamonds, representing the absence of Pink Diamond. Now, there's only yellow, blue and white. So, the last Diamond is White Diamond.

Honestly, the people in the zoo live very happy lives. I don’t see a problem with them being “trapped”.
steven was upset because they were being told what to do every second of the day. They never got to see the earth, so they just think its normal to be told what to do for your entire life

7:35 No, its no racist. Its more classist because like different gems have also different manifestations but here she says "Off-color betas" meaning in otherwords that they didn't come out the way they were supposed to.

This was such a great set of episodes, not least of which because we finally got to see (well...hear) Patti LuPone flex her singing ability. Unfortunately the next two are probably some of the least liked in the whole series, hopefully y'all weren't too put off by them.
