I watch a lot of guitar based TH-cam clips and rarely comment. I'm over 60 and have been playing for over 50 years. You, young man have a beautiful, beautiful playing style and tone and are frickin' incredible. I wish you every success in your career. R.L.
Robert Lyon Super work with his volume knob! There are many excellent players on YT. Only a few “get it”. I’m 62, and have been immersed in the “biz” for 50 yrs (almost) Now, set me up with that amp, and an early 60’s tele (rosewood board) and you’ve got MY dream rig! (loose the wrist watch) Peace
Truly a Strat master. Chris' confidence and aplomb with the knobs and switches - while never an intrusion to the soul of the music - never ceases to amaze. Great work.
This video just furthers my belief, that CB is set to move into the upper echelons of the great players. I think of him in the same vein as Derek Trucks, John Mayer, Jeff Beck etc. Chris really is world class ... I could listen to him endlessly.
Chris, I like the Yamaha but, man, when you pick up that Strat you move into the stratosphere (pun intended). Who else would buy an instrumental album of Chris on his Strat?
Jesus Christ Chris.... No one plays with so much emotion. I can feel every note. Almost taste and live the very music you create. You sir... Are the God of your musical multiverse. Don't ever stop creating souls.
I keep coming back. Just to listen to the opening. Man...... And just after I finished my firebird build. You make me want to build a strat. Then just sit and loop this video endlessly till I can play it!
Chris, that intro solo is so good, and inspiring because I can feel every note you play ....very Gilmourish if I would try to describe it! Love it :) keep up the good work and thanks for bringing great content to us.
My favourite part of the jam beginning with the tasty bends at 1:00 to the growly upstrokes @ 1:12, pure tonal magic. I keep imagining what it would sound like in a live concert. Run out of room on the fretboard, no problem let’s move over to the string tree. Between the vintage 62 Strat and the custom Yamaha Chris has assembled a formidable arsenal to complement his tonal mastery.
Agreed, his slides are both masterful and emotional. I've watched many of Chris's performances but can't remember ever seeing him use a glass/metal slide, I think I'd like to see/listen to that.
This is a rather different sound for you compared to the usual, this being more rugged, tweedy so to speak. I like both, but this suits you so well. More of this, please.
You are one of my favourite players since I watched the miss you vid long time ago but recently I've been noticing that you are getting even better! I dont know man, there's something in your playing lately that sounds more special than ever, does anybody feel the same way? Thanks for the content Chris!
Just watched/listen 1 min of the video...And...Man! You deserve to play in large stadiums! You are the next David Guilmour! It's not the gear. It's you. What a Tone! Now, I have a problem. You made me bought a RS502 Shop Black. And now I'm going after a 60s Am Original Strat. Should I? Well done! Cheers,
Such skill, such emotion, so much space. I'm hoping this isn't all learnt, I'm hoping there is a story, a pain that is the source of such great perceived emotion. God help us the day we can all just learn how to assimilate such true human emotion.
Wow, wow, wow! Chris, I’ve watched a lot of your videos and have always been impressed with your touch and feel (and quite frankly more than a little jealous) but that playing in the intros section gave me goosebumps man. Bloody marvellous mate. Thanks 👍
God, I love it the tone when you're continuing to play even as the the volume is decaying almost out. I've started incorporating it into my playing. I normally set my rig so that when my guitar volume is at 5-6, it's at a level where if you play at 10 all the time, you'd have down at 7-8. Then my 7-8(ish) is what would be 10 for other players. So when I'm using vibrato on a long note or double stop, then I slide it up another position until it's almost died out before i slide up again. I'll shake it right to the point where the volume is all but gone, then slowly dial the volume up as I'm still shaking the note. I've only been doing it for a couple weeks, but everyone who's heard my play or have played with ALL comment on it immediately. I love discovering things like that; nothing that really is all that unusual, but still because it isn't something that everyone does, it sounds so original. Of course that applies more to people who aren't guitarist.
Sounds like the best Pink Floyd song never heard. I manage to steal one single lick from you (so far) and play it convincingly. You've changed my playing, dude.
You are always tremendous, but this one really was something else. That opening piece was so rich and dynamic that I honestly was completely blown away. 😎🎙🎸✅
You really got it young man. Ya drive me nuts shaking the guitar but I had my own crazy things when I was burnin' up the bars with my '57 Strat and a beater 4X10 Bassman. Be well and prosper... Tommy

Robert Lyon Lovely sentiment Robert. Chris Buck is very special indeed.... the soul of a poet.

Chris Buck really is a special player.
@@RickFurnival he tries to move away from strats but he can't coz nothing is better for his amazing style
Chris Buck, my favorite guitar player I've discovered in the past 5 years ...and I watch a lot of guitar players and live in Nashville.
Agreed he is a great player with an equaly great sound.
I've only discovered him on the last 5 weeks and slightly obsessed now. Sweetest tone and lovely touch.
Ha ha everyone has to throw in I live in Nashville. Different frequency range
That solo had Gilmour written all over it, booooootiful.
Happy or Girls?
Yep, my mind went straight to Comfortably Numb.
@@TheRealJanKafka this might be the best comment on the internet
My thoughts exactly
Which one ??
Nvrmind , went back and listened. It was something. But I'd say, it is all him . Buck !
This video just furthers my belief, that CB is set to move into the upper echelons of the great players.
I think of him in the same vein as Derek Trucks, John Mayer, Jeff Beck etc.

I agree, many a time I have been astonished by his playing
thats high praise
Chris, I like the Yamaha but, man, when you pick up that Strat you move into the stratosphere (pun intended). Who else would buy an instrumental album of Chris on his Strat?
Fender should absolutely make Chris one of the faces of the company.
me!
Yes please, Chris, instrumental album!!
He actually says his main guitar is a strat. He plays a highway 1 strat
Ya not wrong Chris musnt realise how much better he is on a strat it is his perfect axe
I feel the need, the need for tweed.

Do it...I love my 5e3...my neighbors hate it though!
LoooooL "I was conducting foreign relations 🖕" 😆😆
I understood that reference.
@@tonetwinstv2863 that video is the reason that '5E3' is one of the searches in my Reverb feed.
Pretty much a dream rig Chris.
How many kidneys do you think I'd need to trade for the Strat?
HE is hereeeee!!!
62 strat, 55 tweed and a guy who has the potential to be one of the greats
That first solo just about knocks you off your chair shaking your head in awe .
I’ll say it again- Aggressive Elegance. That is your sound.
Jesus Christ Chris.... No one plays with so much emotion. I can feel every note. Almost taste and live the very music you create. You sir... Are the God of your musical multiverse. Don't ever stop creating souls.
Hey come on now he's no Ace Frehley
Great job outlining the amp history Chris. I really enjoyed it!
Is dynamics are insane. He knows the exact amount of aggression to play with at any given moment in the solo.
The only thing I dream about more than that combo is having a set of hands like yours.
and his good taste.
They don't even move without his brain
@@joshmuz9018 Hmmm... Challenge accepted! Watch out Chris' hands. =)
GET A ROOM!
I keep coming back. Just to listen to the opening. Man......

My God man, your playing is just beautiful. Such a treat for the ears. Thank you, for sharing!
His slides are what give the playing that soul. Beautiful style.
Agreed, his slides are both masterful and emotional.

All the languor, heat, pain & passion of a hot summer day. Thank you for the education on early amps & guitars: gorgeous!
You’re just awesome 👏🏽
Loved the sound of the strat and 335 in these clips. Just great.
Love your videos Chris and of course our playing
This is a rather different sound for you compared to the usual, this being more rugged, tweedy so to speak. I like both, but this suits you so well. More of this, please.
Never seen a picking hand so busy, the sonic variety this creates is insane. Absolutely mind blowing.
Chris belongs among the greats of his genre today. His play never ceases to amaze and inspire me...to stir up emotion. Thanks for your content, Chris!

What a dream rig. Perfect blend, but the magic is in the fingers without a doubt.
Should I?
Well done!
Cheers,
Discovered this guy like three days ago...amazing playing, most tasteful playing I’ve heard in a long time
That's Gilmour's sound and feel well and truly nailed. Awesome!
Chris that intro sounded like you could be the offspring of Bonnie Raitt and David Gilmour. That's a beautiful piece of music.
Such skill, such emotion, so much space. I'm hoping this isn't all learnt, I'm hoping there is a story, a pain that is the source of such great perceived emotion. God help us the day we can all just learn how to assimilate such true human emotion.
Anybody can learn where to put their fingers but that kind of playing has to come from the soul
That sounded absolutely amazing Chris, well played!
What an epic intro. Goosebumps all over! Keep on rockin'!
Those swells in the intro defy words. Edit: Fuck it, the whole solo is god tier. Keep up the good work man
The intro jam gave me shivers. Omg
Two thumbs down? Seriously ? Must be jealous of the sick ass note choices , tones and general way you command the guitar. I’m inspired 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Wow! Just freaking WOW!
Ooooo baby, that sounds good.... and I'm just listening on a phone. Make a whole album of this. Would love to listen for hours!
One of the best videos. Great work Chris.
Wow...great playing... that's all I can say 'cos you said it all with your fingers and hands...
thats a fantastic piece of music
Incredible! So inspiring...
It’s all in your fingers and heart Chris, I do love your fret Fridays but I do really think it’s you that makes the amp and guitar sound so good.
I really liked it through the mic input. Did not expect that.
Chris really proves that tone is in the fingers! 🤯
O my God....what a sound!
That volume swell and string bend release was awesome!
Man... The first jam, for sure was your best play on friday fretworks
Could listen to that all day long 🥰
Wow! That Gilmour-esque '62 Strat JAM was awesome.
Wow, wow, wow! Chris, I’ve watched a lot of your videos and have always been impressed with your touch and feel (and quite frankly more than a little jealous) but that playing in the intros section gave me goosebumps man. Bloody marvellous mate. Thanks 👍
Just beautiful playing... Inspirational...
Heavenly playing!
This by far my favorite intro solo of yours.
Really enjoyed this. Thanks, Chris.
Ahhh so soothing and electric at the same time, and that Yamaha just blows my mind!!!
That intro was breathtaking!

Both inputs ooze out awesomeness!

Brilliant tone!
That intro on that strat.....WOW! That IS the tone!!!!
Incredibly beautiful tone and playing as usual Chris, through an incredible sounding amp too I might add! 👍❤️
This is so awesome, been wanting a repro version of this exact rig for a while
Wonderful playing !
Your unique man, the way you play i can't explain it other than i am incorporating some of your style elements peace from Alabama in America
Great Gilmour vibe!
f-ing good solo, one of the best solo on the tube , well done to you sir
Just awesome playing and tones. Well done, Chris!
You are Great at soloing.
Not too many have taste.
You got it.
Some beautiful toneage brother!
You were channelling some Gilmour then man.👍
You are always tremendous, but this one really was something else. That opening piece was so rich and dynamic that I honestly was completely blown away. 😎🎙🎸✅
It doesn't get much more tasteful than that intro
god DAMN
I'm pretty sure I saw a glimpse of heaven with that intro. Incredible playing. Incredible sound. 👍👍
Last bit of playing was sublime. It was nice to see your versatility. Reminded me a bit of buckovac.
It’s all in the that TONE! My fav Chris
Magic as always !
Wow Chris you've really developed your own style. I can tell it's you now when I hear you slide and vibrato.
Beautiful intro Chris, inspiring.
What a great intro, what a gtreat combination, what green eye i have! 🎸👀💚
More Buck Magic, it’s not the number of notes it’s the way he plays. The Ringo of guitar.
when someone asked me about my favourite guitar players, I always answered „Jeff Beck and John Mayer“. Now there is a third one - it‘s you.
Great tasteful playing as usual
I’m mesmerised by the part you played with the strat. Please keep posting this inspirational content.
That guitar was alive. Crying, breathing, sobbing, singing.
Incredible strat tones love that hybrid style and the harmonic distances between flesh and pick great player.
You really got it young man. Ya drive me nuts shaking the guitar but I had my own crazy things when I was burnin' up the bars with my '57 Strat and a beater 4X10 Bassman. Be well and prosper...
Tommy
CRIPES... fab sound and once again soooooooooo tasty playing. 😁👍
Friday inspiration..
One of the sweetest solo Ive heard!
Holy smokes... That playing and tone is heavenly. Good job!
Guitar and amp is nice too 👌
So good. First time I’ve ever seen him use the pick he holds between his fingers.
The jam here is absolutely delicious. Take a bow!
That solo at the beginning was the turn 👌🏾
