That's a Bill Blass edition. They were the best of the best. Sad to see this one gone. They just don't build 'em like they used to. These cars had style, grace, and individuality. You didn't just show up somewhere in one of these. You arrived 💔
@@styldsteel1 Mk is short for Mark in many areas, automotive and otherwise. Not MK, Mk. Today I learned that YT (Which is short for You Tube, BTW, (Which is short for By The Way, BTW) is full of bots, annoying AI (Artificial Intelligence) and sanctimonious douche bags.
I had 1 of those 79' Lincoln Continental Mark V Bill Blass Signature editions. I bought from my mechanic back in 1995 or 96' for $400. It was his grandmother's. It sat for almost 10 years cause she got sick. 80k original miles on it. Not even a crack in the white leather seats. I used for work and destroyed the interior. Lol.
Whoa Nelley, rare, rare, rare, rare. Bill Blass edition with the "nautical" type theme. Your video says 1978, but it's a 1979. Fitting as I just came back from a cruise. LOL. We got the VIN, we win: 9 for 1979 model year, Y for Wixom, MI assembly, 89 for Mark V, S for 400 CID V8 with two barrel and the rest is the production sequence. The Wixom plant operated from 1957 to 2007. The 400 CID V8 was a heap of an engine, and the 460 V8 was last used in passenger cars in 1978, and continued on in use in trucks. We got the tag, we can brag: 9D for White lower exterior paint, 3Q for Midnight Blue Metallic (Moondust) accent exterior paint, 65D for Mark V, A for factory AC, U for C-6 automatic transmission, B for 2.47:1 rear axle, non-locking, 22 for Dallas, TX sales district, EQ for White and Blue leather interior trim, CW white full carriage diamond grain vinyl roof, among other codes. Yes, you "made it" in 1979 if you owned one of these. This was a striking car when it was new. Jack O Diamonds Lincoln still exists at 2500 W SW Loop 323, Tyler, TX 75701.
Ill was thinking the same had lot good the fender and door Parts especially the trim hard to find Those Bumper ill bet those parts ebay It cost big moneys

Ford bundles today, thumbs up, no crying here, death sentence has been issued, and carried out quickly, Where did Ron find that?agreed it has been sitting a long time
What you are seeing is the gross, ladened vehicle weight. Five passengers, full tank of gas, engine fluids, trunk luggage This is way way different than curb weight. Above gross weight risks spring and suspension damage.
@styldsteel1 That's what I was thing. A family of 4 and luggage and all. That is alot. According to Google that thing weighs 5 grand itself. After family and all it tops at almost 6200.
Those Lincolns were some big, beautiful cars, back in their time.

Hi, where was this Lincoln located at? Sad seeing it get crushed 😢
Now that was a LINCOLN!! A land yacht.
Sad to see a Bill Blass edition Mark 5 get mashed! Dang that's heavyweight bundle!
The two B markings on the roof panel stands for Bill Blass Designer Edition on the 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V car.
Cool Bill Blass edition. The Best of The Best!
My '78 Mk V got 14 mpg city, and 17.5 mpg highway (And boy, what a highway cruiser, none finer!) with the 400 dual exhaust engine.
There is no such car from the 70 s that has an MK designation.
@@styldsteel1 It's short for Mark. You learned something today.
@@realmaindrianpace I learned how lazy people can be. Again. There is no such car called MK 5. At least not in America. You learned something today.

Imagine trying to parallel park that sucker downtown..😢
Had to do that in one of those to get my license in high school
Would run out of fuel before finding a space big enough to park!

One of the longest cars made.
At least you saved some of it. Those turbines and taillights will bring something.
Seems like a lot of good parts and body panels on those vehicles that could have been used.
Great videos 👍❤
Thanks 👍
Imagine all the smooth one liners that car must have heard towards fly honeys. If it could talk.
The engines were good in jet boats 😀
That grill, taillights and some of the dash cluster components could have been saved and sold.
Ill was thinking the same had lot good the fender and door

Iv always liked driving those big old cars
Some Texas oil man
I'm sure there were lots of good parts still.

I often think what they had to do to find parking spots for those big cars then I remember there simply were less cars.
Sad ending man. She could have been really tough.
I don't know G, you'd look good in that with your purple velvet suit on with the white leather seats cruisin' downtown on a Saturday night 😄❤️👍

O man, We had a 1978 lincoln continental diamond jubilee edition, 460 big block and would just float down the highway at 75 MPH. 13 MPG 🤣
Ford bundles today, thumbs up, no crying here, death sentence has been issued, and carried out quickly, Where did Ron find that?agreed it has been sitting a long time
I would have saved the grill for a wall hanger.
I was think about but to lazy to take it out!!
The navy blue & white Bill Blass editions were 1979's--not 78's!
He does say 1979 in the video, not sure why the title is 1978 then
I'd still drive one with a 5.0 swap or a Ls swap. But not that gas guzzling engine it had lol.
Curb weight 6100 pounds!!!!! Most of those got crushed in the 90s when steal shot up lol. And gas prices lol.
I'm sorry. What the hell are you talking about. Even the laden weight is 3800. Jeez the Internet is full of this stuff
@styldsteel1 Go to 3:19. Gross vehicles weight is 6144.

Driving them in demolition derbies isn’t wasting…this is wasting
Howdy cowboy, my first girlfriend was born in 1979, but after graduation, she married a total bum. I'd remove the front grill as a souvenir.
I would have taken the hood ornament off of it
Theres some good parts on that one. Shame
Sad 😪
Its a going to town Rig
playalistic
why didn't you save the grill?
Cuz I was to lazy to take it off.💯😎😁
Is that the same kind of car from the movie Uncle Buck that back fired all the time
What a waste...
WELCOME TO DEATHROW. Where NO MERCY Will Be SPARED!!!😁
Sorry bro. This video is much better in mute. It really needs no talking
U don't need to help the crusher
