    Reminds me of when I was 15 and a busser at a diner in a small town (my first job), and these old guys asked me if I was "still a virgin." (People don't realize how common sexual harassment is, and how easy it is for people to turn a blind eye)

    That guy says that he's been in over 100 meetings with Roy Moore, 'and been around probably in excess of 10,000 different ladies?!?' Unless he counts all the random different women they passed by on the street, that makes an average of 100 women per meeting. What the hell were those 'meetings', beauty pageants?

      Phil Armstead
      It is called hyperbole ( in this case exaggeration for entertainment). And is not intended to be taken as the truth.
      I have serious doubts about the intelligence of an individual who can't tell the difference.
      Using another person's hyperbole as a method to discredit them is disingenuous or perhaps ignorant at best. And anyone who falls for this deception is just as ignorant as the one using it.

    • @PhilArmstead
      @PhilArmstead 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ha, what? It's not exaggeration for entertainment. In the original commenter's case it was exaggeration to downplay the suggestion that somebody is a sexual predator and in my case it was exaggeration to downplay being party to treason.
      I don't care about your doubts though, I was providing the original commenter without another, recent example of hyperbole in the news.

    • @tehemail.7062
      @tehemail.7062 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you think about it both you and phil are the one's wrong in your math, not the republicans. A million meetings is over a hundred meetings. Assuming that over 100 = hundred is far more stupid than what he said.
      As for kelly anne saying thousands of photos, same logic applies. Millions are composed of thousands. There is no contradiction, just false assumptions.
      Just like democrats to nitpick trivial words and then make significantly more egregious coherency mistakes in their attempts to ridicule.

    My favorite part is when the attorney tries to give Roy Moore credit by saying he's been in over 100 meetings with him and never once had he shown these sorts of intentions.
    But 100? Let's take a look at the fact that he's 70, and most of the assaults take place at his 30s, so if we take the 40 years he's had the opportunity, and multiply that by 365 days, assuming only one assault can happen per day. This means that Roy Moore has have over 14500 days to commit these crimes outside of his attorney's view, assuming that his attorney only met him once, on a different day.
    Now can I expect a child molester to keep it in his pants while around people 100(ish) / 14600 days, yes, yes I think I could.

I just think Alabama could of went with, idk, a much better choice for a rep representative. Aside from child pedophilia there's many other problems on his record as is, mostly that he's been removed from power twice already for abusing it.
      However, the fact I pointed up above was a reprisal simply for the whole "I've been around him 100 times" it may seem like a lot, to some, but in honesty, it's nothing.

      Lumor that’s because of a man comes forward he is mocked for being uncomfortable, called “lucky”, and disregarded. Finn Wolfhard was approached and hit on by a 27 year old even though he’s FOURTEEN, and people on twitter made fun of him for being uncomfortable with someone twice his age telling him to “hit her up in 4 years”. If we want male victims of sexual harassment to come out about it more often then we need to stop saying it doesn’t exist, and we need to listen to them and support them

    • @hannaht4612

      I'm not sure what your comment has to do with this thread, but let me spell it out for you.
      EVERYONE is a "social category" in one way or another. It's simply a way of talking about social issues and isn't dehumanizing in any way.
      No one has or should have the right to exclude anyone (except perhaps criminals and enemies of the state) from "their" communities.
      If you think a melting pot is the same thing as genocide, then you are probably the most shallow racist alive, and that pool runs pretty damn shallow. A melting pot is just the natural outcome of people living the way they want to live and making the choices they want to make. It's freedom at its finest, and that's what the USA is all about, so deal with it.
      If that means that "white culture" or any culture for that matter dies out because people just aren't interested in it anymore, then que sara.

    • @rabidpogoista4510
      @rabidpogoista4510 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      *"No, you're talking about this like it's something of a personal nature on a micro scale, White GeNocide is transpersonal and is macro in scale."*
      No, I'm not. A Melting pot is a macro effect of people making their own choices. It's the collective effect of all of them together. Genocide, on the other hand, requires that there be an individual or party that has deliberate intent to eliminate a culture. It also requires that they do so by murdering constituents of that culture rather than merely persuading individuals to choose something else.
      *"We're not talking about people's affinity for classical music or eating waffles, we're talking about the genetic integrity of a RACE of PEOPLE."*
      We might as well be. The "genetic integrity of a race of people" is no more significant than an affinity for classical music or eating waffles. It's only important as far as it's important to individuals.
      If you are one who finds this important, then you are perfectly free to choose a mate with genetics to match your preference, if you like. You can even establish family traditions to persuade your future generations to value the "genetic integrity" of your ancestors. You can persuade others of "like genetics" to form a commune on private land. Outside of these options, you're probably going to be trampling on the rights of others, and let's face it, "genetic integrity" really isn't nearly important enough to justify that.
      Also, if you are concerned about "genetic integrity" then you are the definition of a racist.
      *"And here you're basically just saying that nobody has the FREEDOM to simply reject the presence of people unlike themselves - that's the very definition of tyranny there, that's not freedom at all."*
      No, rejecting the presence of people unlike yourself is the definition of tyranny. You don't have a right to tyranny, therefore you are not free to reject the presence of people who are unlike you from accessing spaces that are open to the public.
      *"Without the freedom to associate with whom we choose, there is no freedom."*
      You do have freedom to choose whom you associate with, as far as it doesn't restrict the rights of others. Your freedom ends where your tyranny begins. It doesn't mean there is NO freedom, it just means that one's freedom doesn't take precedence over the freedom of another.
      "But it's only Caucasoids who are being told that they have "White Privilege" and that they must atone for it by supporting their own literal annihilation."
      I'm not one to push the idea of White Privilege. There was a time when white privilege was rampant, and it was a big problem in America, but these days it's only the distant dream of guys like you. None of the talk of "white privilege" is really amounting to anything these days, so it's kind of a non-issue.
      Also, I don't see a big problem of people calling for "Caucasoids" to "support their own literal annihilation". I think your being a bit dramatic. I do see a problem of racism against Caucasians, though I'm not sure that it's a major problem. Idiotic movements like BLM tend to step back when they get called out on these things, which happens pretty much every time.

    I'm actually really shy talking to women. I feel like this has always been a negative quality for me to have. But now that I have learned that men are luring women into rooms and start masturbating in front of them or are groping or raping them I realize being shy really isn't the worst thing in the world. I just find it disturbing this is what some people think is acceptable behaviour.

Even into my early twenties I always treated the pussy with respect and dignity and was able to ignore the voice of my penis. Like all other perfect men out there. In fact, the very first time I ever masturbated was in my 30's and I politely asked if it would be alright with the first woman I was ever naked with if it would be acceptable to ejaculate. She said no and I have never touched or dreamed about touching another woman ever again.

    I think Al Franken's case is the first big issue that has come up since Trump has been elected with any kind of complexity to the debate. On one hand, Franken has apologized, the woman he hurt accepted that apology and is explicitly not calling for a seat change, the senator has called for his own investigation instead of diverting and denying, and in a utilitarian sense Franken will likely be more favorable to women's rights than a general election challenger would be. On the other, he really shouldn't have fucking done that.

    Does this supposed "sexual assault" mean that now Franken is extremely qualified to run for and be elected to the office of President like the current pervert in chief? I sure hope so. It has been commented that, #1 - she has on a kevlar flack jacket....WOW, bet he got a really good feel (even without making physical contact), #2 - sure he probably kissed her with some overkill - both stupid and not funny, more of an immature high school type prank. #3 - How many men would take a photograph of supposedly assaulting a woman and #4 - where did she get and why did she keep the photograph if it was so offensive and painful and why did it appear at such a convenient time? Where is the photographer and why is he/she not speaking up about the situation?
    Really dumb Al, but not criminal. I'm embarrassed because I do think he's a good Senator and works hard to represent his constituents. This would be laughed out of court as sexual assault. Sexual assault implies sex does it not? Yes, sexual harassment perhaps, but here are the clinchers - Franken admitted his stupidity - I don't think 50 or 60 women or men will come out of the woodwork like they have with Clinton, Trump, Spacey, Cosby, Weinstein or Moore - he didn't drug, liquor up or rape anyone - there was no under age assault - he admitted, apologized and suggested it be investigated rather than evade (unlike Billy Bob who said "I did NOT have sex with that woman" or the claim of consent under the influence of date rape drugs like Cosby or outright denial like Moore) and did not screw around on his wife (singular as opposed to Trump). Franken did something dumb and immature and I can bet 90% of men have done something equally dumb or far worse. Why not take 90% of men to court and fire them from THEIR jobs, including many commenting here, because they acted stupidly? Sexual harassment is wrong and sexual assault far worse. Women must speak up and punishment must be appropriate and PROPORTIONATE.
    I experienced my superior at work (a doctor) grabbing my breasts once in a deserted elevator. I broke his nose on the spot. Case closed. Avoided me like the plague after that. What would he do, accuse me of punching him? Go ahead and the reason would have come out. Hahahaha! That gave the power to ME, not him. He would have been censured or even fired. That's one way of solving the problem but that can't always be done when someone's job is at stake. This woman could have done that if she was so incensed. He had no power over her, especially with witnesses. Women need to FIGHT harassers at the time if possible, but it's not always possible due to the strength of the man, his power over her and other factors.
    Meanwhile it is terribly convenient that this came up at a time to divert from Roy Moore, an obviously depraved pedophile with multiple accusers. Also, how can Ivanka say "My father loves women" and then condemn Moore to "A special place in hell" in the same breath when her father is a proven sex offender? It must also be noted that Democrats have condemned their own while Republicans have to have their arms twisted to condemn Moore and, above all, Trump.

    • @susieq9801
      @susieq9801 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Baron - I'm not even an American nor am I a member of any political party. What Franken did was stupid, juvenile and wrong. Nothing justifies it. It was, however, not rape or violent abuse or proven (thus far) to be a serial type of behaviour. Have you ever pulled a prank or disrespected women (like telling them to get their head our of the DNC's ass)? Bet you have. He should be made to do public service, fined or whatever, whereas a pedophile banned from a shopping mall for picking up underage kids (Moore) is a far greater danger as are serial molesters like Trump or Bill Clinton or JFK. There, is that apolitical enough for you? Pull your head out of the GOP's ass. BTW, I think a head up the ass would be classified as sexual assault. :)
      BTW, I'm 68 so I likely have seen more of Franken than you - since the 70's on SNL.
