We pick line weights based on castability for fishing applications, that 90% of the general public will have great success with. Don’t take this as a dumbing down, so to speak, but actual line weights that we would fish as well. Obviously line choices are personal preference. But, we’ve spent a ton of time with these, probably as much or more as anybody, and our recommendations are based on that recon. Over time, there will be a few changes as you might expect. So far as these 9 wts are concerned, I thought those line choices were spot on for Skagit/sink tip applications.
Noticed both rods were lined significantly heavier that Sage recommends. Any particular reason?
