I follow and agree with everything you were saying...I wish we had the Igniter back when the Thompson was fishing well...here is a crazy thing ..my Scandi friends in Norway love the Igniter..the prefered rod is still the TCX ,Method and Igniter on Laekselva' and Alta'..from Sage at least...Ive been using the Sage X on my Atlantic Salmon trips since its inception...Hope we start getting some good returns and covid goes away...3 years of not going to Skeena now.
Very nice review and I guess most people got you massage Marcus! I would pic the Igniter because it has that punch I love ! To slow it down is easy just go up one size in line and you get deeper load. The more less expensive rods can't handle that step up because how they are built. Tanks for the good info 👍 The swed 🇸🇪
Ha, you guys know what my opinion is... (I own 3 Igniters by trading in my Xs), works great on the coast, but just as well on the Rogue and the North... couldn't be happier with my Igniters... This said, I have to agree with you Marcus, you can lose the sweet spot from time to time with the Igniter, but of course, feel is in the hands of the beholder... As usual, AFS is my go-to fly shop. Great vid Marcus!
I have the 6126-4 Igniter after watching your review last year & it is "THE" ideal Scandi casting rod for 9 months of the year...really a nice rod...;)

What reel did you accompany the rod with?
Whats size of scandi you use with de 1307 x rod ?
Any modern scandi in the 460-480 grain range and 32-38 ft will be a great fit!
Well done.
Outstanding review Marcus! You really nailed this one...much appreciated. Any experience with the Sage 13' 8wt?

What happened to this channel? Did John get Metooed?
😄😄 He did not! Full time guiding on the Rogue for Jon these days!
