By doing this, the manufacturers are taking note. We are seeing improvements to their products. Yes its been very hard to see good stuff get pulled apart 😂 but it’s to our advantage. We get better products. And look at HOBOS equipment for testing, he’s getting bigger and better 😎

I bought 2 of these back in December 2022 and have them connected in series for 24V. Connect this to my 24V to 48V DC to DC converter which is plugged into my AC200P to add capacity when needed. My initial testing showed 101AH each battery. They are doing great so far. They were $299.99 back then, plus I received one of their LFP 12.8V 6Ah batteries free with each purchase. Good deal.

I think opening up the battery proves that the product is good. You get to see the quality of the wires internally and the BMS. You also can test the low-temperature cut off. Plenty of DIY people have built battery banks that look a lot worse than after you reassemble the battery.

Hearing your price and seeing other prices in the comments make me wonder why I even just bought this for $179. It'll probably be $149 by the time i check the price again. Solar and battery tech are some of very few things in this world that have a continually swelling bang for buck.

Excellent review. Many thanks. Would love to see the Power Queen "mini" premium v2 100ah version tested and broken down. Li Time, Redodo and others are doing the 19lb mini versions now with a 10.24x5.24x8.96 footprint. This really, really helps in a truck/van/camping situation. That said, Sun Fun Kits has a compact and lightweight 300ah battery that would be worth testing - SFK-300HP.

Make sure, if you connect them in series, to balance them once or twice a year, just connect them in parallel for an hour, before you do that, check the voltages of every Individual battery. Because if the voltages are to far apart, hundreds of amps could flow from one to another and cause harm to them or yourself.

  • @spockmcoyissmart961
    @spockmcoyissmart961 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi all, I purchased 4 of these 100ah 12v batteries and connected in series into my MPPSolar inverter. I have 1 inverter and am not using any fancy remote battery management system. I tried using the lithium program of the inverter to charge these batteries, but it goes into alarm because I can't use the series cable to attach to the batteries. Since there is no place to plug in the cable into the batteries. I am using the 'user defined' battery program. There is a built in BMS in the batteries, but I don't know what it does exactly. Nothing visual. My question is about the charge/bulk/float/low cut out/high cut out/voltage to return when the batteries recover. I'm using the generic setting of 54 volts for the battery system, but the batteries are always charging and never get over 2 of 4 bars. I'm guessing this is due to not having all of the settings correct for this system. I'm only using 0-25% of the inverter capacity, so I'm not draining the batteries to zero. Power Queen doesn't respond to emails. Does anyone have any suggestions on setting these up? I just sent an email to MPP Solar and am waiting for a response. I did fully charge each battery independently, then connected in parallel to complete the balancing before hooking in series to my inverter. Thank you in advance for any comments!

Thank you for the ongoing insights. I have an off topic question that I hope you can assist? Is it better to discharge my power station to let’s say 20 % than charge it back up to 85% or can I just leave it plugged into my car as it is now at 65% and I use my car every day for 20 minutes so it slowly charges back up every day maybe 10 %. Is this harmful to the power station? Thanking you in advance :)

I purchased 2 of their 100Ah Premium batteries last year. They weren't self heating so I thought what can it hurt to purchase a automotive battery wrap for over the winter. I connected a thermostat to it so it would only come on below freezing. This was probably the dumbest thing I have ever done in my life. I deformed the outside case of both batteries. I later learned I can't use lead acid battery warmers. My batteries still charge and discharge okay but did I do any long term damage?

can you tell me the difference between this battery Power Queen 12.8V 100Ah Low-Temp LiFePO4 Battery Perfect for Trolling Motor, Built-in 100A BMS and the battery that I just purchased on Amazon Power Queen 4 Pack 12.8V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery, Built-in 100A BMS, Lithium Battery 5120Wh, 4000 to 15000 Cycles, Support in Series/Parallel, widely used .. I plan to run three of these in series for my 36v Lowrance Ghost Trolling motor, but now I am worried there is some difference that I should have gotten the one that I described above. Could you please share with me what the difference is? Thank you sir.

theres others that do take them apart, you can search and find them, better to give the batteries away, than not to be able to use them

Well I guess I'm going to have to trade my Trojan 6 volt batteries, that im tired of filling them with water for a couple of PowerQueen 12volt batteries !! Thanks

just so you know, warranty is worthless, if you have trouble, all you are going to get us an email at 1 AM from China, no support at all from the states.

No one is talking about this battery shutting down when fully charged on solar if you keep it hooked up to charge controller and it reaches 14.4 bms shuts down why… my other battery’s can stay on charge controller something not right power queen has not answer my inquiry…

All LFP batteries when fully charged disconnect the charging circuit to protect the cells. You can still discharge them. They work as intended.

@@HOBOTECH I understand but it turns of my inverter off and beeps discharge fine and changes back up fine my issue is why it doesn’t work while hooked up to charge controller I have other batteries that don’t do that… Thank you… Hobotech Sir

@@dan32one44 I had this exact scenario and contacted them directly about it. Yes, they do disconnect after 14.4v, and they say it's "normal", but what is not normal is that it doesn't instantaneously reconnect when the voltage goes any lower, as it can mess up with some chargers and inverters, indeed. My solution was to charge at 14.4v only, but if you consider this, going from about 14.2V at full charge, to 14.6V will only give you like 3% more state of charge, at the expense of a much faster aging in the cells. It's not worth it, just charge it at 14.3V.

The battery is not destroyed. It can easily be sealed back up. A plastic welder would make it like new.

I was surprised to see aluminum bars connecting the cells inside this battery. Aluminum is about 60% conductive compared to Copper. Of course aluminum bars weigh less than copper which helps reduce the overall weight of the battery. Disclaimer, this is my first time seeing inside an
LifoPO battery so I don’t have anything to compare my observation to. Ps. Melting points (f): aluminum 1,200, copper 2,000.

Aluminum buss bars is a standard in these . The posts of the cells are aluminum so it makes welding the bars in easier .

Yep and aluminum is cheaper. All you have to do is double the thickness vs copper to provide the same or better conductivity. Melting point doesn't matter. If your battery is over 1000 degrees it's already on fire.

As long as someone who needs a bit of help gets the battery, I can accept the teardown. Your plan to donate it locally is a class move.
