I think I recognize the "no name". There was a guy selling these at ITG conferences in the early '90's. They came with stethoscope style ear buds that plugged into the little holes on the side. Sort of a proto-silent brass.
Incredible that you remember that! I guess I do remember some sort of mute that came with stethoscope ear buds - but didn’t recognize this mute as being THAT mute. Great memory, Bob!

I've just bought a Divitt practice mute. Hardly any back pressure, a joy to play. The Yamaha mute has gone in the bin, too much back pressure.
