Virginia gentleman has burley in it as well. I will also add it’s a great base to add Latakia for a very nice American English blend as well as a little dark fire Kentucky for a Kentucky bland.
Enjoyed your video, glad I found you. Also very glad to see 2 of my favorite tobaccos were also mentioned by you. Going to have to try some of the others you liked! Thank you
My favorite is GL pease, Quiet Nights. I have quite a bit stocked up, and will get more. I love it, another is Hood Canal. I will ALWAYS keep those around.
I really like the Seven Seas Regular blend. The Gold blend is good as well. I really like the Mixture Scottish blend by Mac Baren as well. I just got 9 blends from C&D and have liked them all so far. I have 2 I have not yet piped.
Thanks for the video, I still like 7 seas!..... plumb pudding special reserve yumm. For the aromatic lover I would definitely recommend molti dolce it's very nice on a summer night around a campfire.
Really, that’s how you see Molte Dolce? Right on! I see it more as a fireplace smoke than a campfire smoke, but I’ll bring some to camp this summer and report back.
Great lists of favorites, and I love the background on each person's preference and where they are on the pipe smoking hobby. I was able to snag a tin of Bagpiper's dream, so thanks for the recommendation!
For about 7 years I’ve only ever had dunhill/Peterson I’m slowly starting to branch out now. Im just Inlove with 965/nightcap/London 🤷♂️ waiting on some Seattle pipe club and Mac baren stuff in the mail
I loved your top five video. I’m new to pipe smoking and I’m checking out all the creators of these videos and I just stumbled upon yours. I subscribed and I will be watching all of the reviews and recommendations. Good times. 😎
Awesome video gentleman. What a great duo you make! Just out of curiosity what pipes are you guys smoking? Thanks for the awesome content and jeep it up.
There is one tobacco that I'm pretty sure seen you guys smoke it before in another video and I think it deserves top 5 is c&d's cross-eyed cricket!I don't think I have ever smoked a more well behaved smoke than the cricket and it tastes amazing!I have a decent cellar with all kinds of tobacco and my hand keeps grabbing that cross-eyed cricket!another one on my top 5 that maybe deserves a little love atleast for me is g.l.pease Stonehenge weird but special!good job guys I like your videos!
Loved the video gentlemen and the family dynamic! Im not an aro guy but, as you guys said, that the great thing about hobby is our different tastes! Enjoyed your take on the blends for sure and absolutely agree with plum pudding! Cheers! Subbed!
Hey guys, list sounds good. The only blend on your list that I have tried is father Dempsey. Some of my favorites are escudo, glp’s quite nights, Peterson’s emp and of course father Dempsey. What other blends would you consider for a morning smoke that’s not to heavy......Thanks
My go to morning smokes (that are all English blends) are in this order: Stokkebye English Luxury, Sutliff Match Early Morning and Sutliff Match 20. I'll smoke Stokkebye English Oriental Supreme anytime, though. Careful - some of these have a slight topping on them, so if that's not your bag, then the English Oriental Supreme is my pick. Thanks for watching.
Great guys! Since I suggested this I'll share my (at this time) top Five. 5. Comoy's: Cask No.7; 4. Newminster: #306 English Orient ; 3.Newminster: #400 Superior Navy Flake; 2. MATCH Field & Stream; 1. MATCH : Hines Mixture. Honorable Mention: MATCH : Flying Dutchman; Comoy's: Cask No.4; Kramer's: Blend for Cary Grant. Very hard narrowing down to five, makes you think about what attracts you to a particular blend.
I've tried (and enjoyed) all of these except the Superior Flake and the Match Hines Mixture. I liked the Cary Grant, but enjoyed the Danny Kaye more. It was super tough to pick just 5! Thanks for the idea and your list, too.
@@PipesTobaccoWhiskey Newminster has a coin of virginia wrapped around dark kentucky center that is worth trying too. Virginia Flakes and coins are some of my favorites. Especially after cellaring for months.
1. Marlin flake 2. Blackhouse 3. Escudo 4. Bow legged bear 5. Squadren leader My list so far, although I'm still fairly new to trying different blends.
Tried plumb pudding after all the hype, not for me. Was curious about that CnD gentalman caller, wasn't sure about the deer tongue, could ya elaborate more on that, so it's just a sweet vannila?
Thanks for watching. My thoughts on deer tongue is that it adds a kind of herbal vanilla flavor, not much more. It will ghost a pipe, though, if the content is substantial or if you smoke it a bunch. I kinda like it.
Great video guys. I’m a new pipe smoker and would like your thoughts on which tobacco you’d recommend. I enjoy sweet and savory flavors both. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you.
I always recommend “Lane’s 1-Q”, the number one selling Aromatic in the world to newbies. A wonderfully flavored tobacco to launch you into the hobby. Smoked it for a solid year starting out I loved it so much before branching out into the world of more traditional blends of Virginia’s, Burley, and Latakia. Pipe tobacco is an adventure into discovery my friend.
Just trying to find out what is being considered sweet and savory...my idea may be totally different than others. My go-to aromatic is The Country Squire Cherokee. It’s sweet like Lane 1-Q but not very savory.
So my top 5 keeps changing as I try new blends. Here are a few.... Top English is Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding Special Reserve and Mac Baren HH Latakia Flake. Top aromatic is either Peter Heinrichs Reserve Cru No. 2 or Ken Byron Burley Morning Pipe. Top Virginia is Rattray Marlin Flake. Also in the mix is Balkan Sobranie, Presbyterian and Heinrichs Golden Sliced. Favorite Kentucky is Heinrichs Dark Strong. All very good!
why all pipers are so relaxed, calm and serene? i feel like criminals and anxious people would have their life changed if they started smoking pipe tobaccoo
I hated Autumn Evening. I think it tastes like a acidic kool-aid sweetener. If I want an aromatic, I would just smoke a straight black cavendish. I really would like to try some plum pudding. Molte Dolce wasn't too bad.
@@PipesTobaccoWhiskey thank you very much for the reply. Just curious, what would be a great tobacco that tastes and smells least like cigarettes? I had an ounce of PS natural that was really close to cigarette smoke.
A lot of folks go with some type of aromatic to get away from smoke smells, but they also can cover the tobacco taste. Some of my favorite aros are Bob’s Chocolate Flake, Vanilla Roll Cake, Cherokee from the Country Squire and Ken Byron’s Burley Morning Pipe. I favor English blends for the cool and creamy mouthfeel.
@@PipesTobaccoWhiskey my top 5 favorite bulk blends ( not in no particular order ) is, 1 Cornell & Diehl - Habana Daydream ( If I HAD tp pick a no1 it would likely be this one) 2 Peter Stokkebye Toasted Burley ( to me its best pure burley blend you can find ) 3 Hearth & Home Signature Virginia Spice 4 C&D Old Joe Krantz 5 Cornell & Diehl Bayou Night C&D Billy Budd can come and go off the list any given time. I would most likely replace OJK with this one.

You guys should eventually do separate videos on top english, top aromatic, top virginia, etc... I think that would draw a lot of people.
Nice idea! Thanks.
Just watched this for the second time. Great content. I really enjoy your channel, keep up the good work.
