I got divorced at 27 and after several months of trying to figure my life out I took John's advice. I took a week off of work and hiked eight of Colorado's beautiful 14ers. I saw fire rain, I looked down on silver clouds below me, and I made a lot of awesome mountain friends. The man that I am today was born on that trip. My wife and kids are very grateful for the effect that this song had on me. Thank you Mr. Denver.
I have a similar story, being married and divorced 2x by 26 and I got a clue. The rest of my life has been fantastic. Going away and figuring yourself out is number one. We could probably have far fewer issues in this world if we worked on peoples issues
He sung at my brothers wedding in 1994 at a Ski Resort in Boulder Colorado (My brothers wife's family had money and connections) and he was a man unlike many. He spent the entire day with us and it's a day I will never forget. He sang for us off and on for almost 10 hours into the evening. He returned the next day to go skiing with the wedding party as well.
This music was a huge part of my childhood, and I when I feel lost, I listen to the music of my past to remember where I came from... Music is the best gift my father has ever given me😊
Driving in the Western and Northwestern part of the United States is stunning .. his words in this song are so true, I hope you get to experience it .. 🙋♀️ 😊
Rocky Mountains are beautiful, as I lived in Breckenridge and Telluride in the 70s. Absolutely wonderful, and growing up with this song, and hearing it over and over again here in Switzerland, makes me totally proud to know what he was singing about.
@richardwilley5754 same here. My mum and my best friends' mum both loved John Denver and my friend (nearly 50 years on and we're still friends) and I love him too. I remember seeing him in concert when I was 7. Even at that age I loved him.
Then I guess you'll have to make a trip to Colorado some day. I have never been to Colorado, but I would love to go there. I did go to West Virginia and lived there, and John Denver sang about it, as well:)

The only ones allowed into heaven are those who have confessed their sins to Jesus, asked Him to forgive them and for Him to save them and come into their lives. Put your faith in Jesus, He loves you. You must have a close relationship with Him to go to heaven, being a nice person isn't enough.
It's tough for kids today to understand what John Denver was to American culture in the 70s. The man was everywhere doing everything. Singing, songwriting, acting, producing, and he was pretty much universally loved, even by people who weren't fans of his kind of music.
@@HTV-2_Hypersonic_Glide_Vehicle I'm of the "elderly generation" and I dig John Denver. I cried when I heard he crashed into the Sea. Thank goodness the Mrs' and I attended his performance in the town I live in.
A true legend... country road...take me home...my wish during these tough times not seeing my loved ones in the UK for over 2 years and losing my beloved younger brother has been hard ...but music like this has been a great comfort...bless you all ...keep the faith 💞
I'm 27, I lost my job taking care of my kids instead of working. I have two beautiful twin baby boys. I had a dispute with my wife, now I'm homeless in Texas. I'm saving to go back. All I have is my truck, some clothes, and my dog's ashes. I got a thousand miles ahead of me soon. Wish me luck, boys. I'm going to see those mountains again.
Guys I made it back to CO and have a place. Never give up hope on yourself. Have humility and grace, Good things will find you. If you read this, I hope the best for you.
My life's anthem... which will be played at my memorial service. So many memories of my coming of age in southern Colorado. He was The Man in my opinion. ♥
Ed Sheridan is probably close. However, John had so much life experience, better complete song writer as well as musician who understood chords subtleties and harmonies in his prime from 73-76 than Ed. But Ed had more guts to push the barriers of various genres than John who wanted to stay safe.
It was a sunny afternoon in 1974..I was an 8 year old boy playing with my lovely grandpapa in the verandah..the radio was on..we were listening this very song and were happily playing...today, after years and years, I am listening to this very song sitting alone in the very same verandah..I see the sunshine and remember the happy times I spent with my grandpa...I miss you..
That's the beauty of music, and to me, especially John Denver's music. It will absolutely transport you back in time to the most beautiful memories, treasured moments of your life, that maybe didn't seem like much at the time, but now have deep meaning. John is truly missed. The soundtrack of my childhood, growing up in the foothills of the Rockies. thank you for sharing your beautiful memory.
My mother was buried yesterday and for some reason, this morning, this song came to mind out of the blue. There was no reason for it - it wasn't one of her favourites, she didn't particularly like or dislike John Denver, nor do I, but the song kept looping in my head and wouldn't leave me alone. Listening to the song started the tears again. There's something about John Denver's pure voice and solitary guitar accompaniment that reminds me so much of my mother's character- how she loved family, nature, embraced her faith. She was my rock and I feel adrift right now
My husband was killed on the job in 1979 at almost 27 yrs old. In Tucson. I buried him in Colorado where his family lived and we both loved. The first several lines of this song fit perfectly. We had a funeral in Tucson and I took my stereo and 8 track of this song and played it. Most didn't understand but my husband and I did. He was going home to God. We both loved John Denver and so did his mother.
IKR This song reminds me of a SAINT of a woman, she was a force of nature that would strum this song along with Country Roads at Borders in Waldorf MD faithfully once a month on Open Mic night. Dora Bankins-Bush. She was a lawyer, a devout Catholic, the first Black Woman to attend the Naval Academy, an EXCELLENT mother and aunt, a guiding force in the life of so many, and the BIGGEST John Denver fan in the world. Truly a heart of gold (she loved herself some Neil too, lol) RIP Dora
I lived up west of Denver for a little while in the mountains but from Baton Rouge Louisiana and always listened to his stuff my parents like his stuff..
I remember when this song came out. It's a masterpiece the way it still touches my soul. My husband has passed, and many wonderful people we'd meet camping, driving for days down the coast, people were more friendly and down to earth. When I hear kids say it's 2023, I say I know, and I feel bad for you.
I can’t listen to this song without crying. My mother passed away at the end of March. She played this and many other John Denver songs when I was growing up. I miss her Today is my first Mother’s Day without her.
I am so sorry, Shanta. I hope time helps heal part of your pain. There is nothing like losing a parent. I am in the same boat. I cry every time I listen to this song because it was my late mom’s favorite.
What a unique, pure, clean, uplifting voice. More proof that America does NOT suck. He is also a very gifted acoustic guitar player. John did not lip sync during live concerts
those who don't yet understand what a fabulous guitar player John Denver was, should just try to play one of his songs! One of a kind, a great American!
I am turning 27 in 3 days. And this song has new meaning for me. I was born in Colorado. Every time i see those mountains I know I’d be a poor man if I never saw an eagle fly. And I’m glad I’ve lived through all the hardships to see those eagles fly.
I turned 27 in April 30th... And a week later my gf told my she is pregnant. Well, I'm going home to a place I'd never been before. And I am happy about it
He just sings about pure and natural things, he makes you feel the places and ppl he sings about, you can’t listen to him without feeling the music in your heart. Rest In Peace John. P.S. My ex wife’s friend was at an airport lounge waiting on her plane when JD walked in saw she had a guitar and started talking with her, he showed her some chords and actually played her guitar. He didn’t have to do that but that’s who he was.
From an French guy, treasure the legacy of John Denver, Americans. He did so much to depict the beauty of your country that is so underrated here, and he did so with much touching candor. Nothing makes me want to get outta here, and go on a carefree trip across continents more than a John Denver song. There might be a firecamp with some people, sharing stories on a pleasant evening.
You Sir sound like a pleasant man, coming from an Englishman who lived in Oz, NZ and now resides in the Canadian Praire. I’ve just got back from a 4000klm road trip to wine country via the mountains. I always miss the open road and good camp fire eases my pain.
Yeah, this was back when people needed to have talent in order to be famous and weren’t overratedly obsessed with using music for lame, political purposes.
He may have had a wonderful voice, and was a great guitar player, but his best skill and asset was optimism. He talked about love and appreciation for life and nature, when the world really needed it, and thankfully his music remains. We lost a friend, but we keep the memory.
I was 12 yrs old in 1978 and heard he was in the bar at the Howard Johnson’s we were staying at in Rapid so I immediately went in to say hi. He was so kind and sweet. We talked for about 20 minutes about everything you can think of and he bought me a lemonade. Fly high my friend. 😘
Left the day I turned 18, moved back home at 27 because my mom got sick. She passed a month ago tomorrow. God bless you John Denver, this hurts. Rocky mountain high 🤘
John Denver's songs - particularly Rocky Mountain High and Country Roads - still bring tears to my eyes. I lived in Vail, CO for a number of years and these songs were ANTHEMS. Whenever one of these songs would come on, wherever it was being played, everyone within earshot, and I mean EVERYONE, would sing along. It was a different time back then, but it was not so long ago. Sometimes, they'd be played from a speaker at a shop, into the street. To be with people singing his music walking down the street, with such feeling..... incomparable. What happened to us?
+Hannah Phillips I was driving along Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem when the news came over the radio of the tragic loss of this great performer. It hit me hard, thinking that all we would have was what he had already done.
Pay no attention to how many dislikes this song has. That my friends is their loss. Instead enjoy this wonderful, sweet, pure, heartfelt music that this awesome man has blessed us with.
+Adrian Miller awesome meaning. words and soul. If you are into One direction, Beiber than your demented mental function has to fire those neurons and inevitable down-vote this song you cant help yourself and neither can anyone else help you. Maybe one day just maybe it will come to you.
Jay Clover I : He had very good taste in music! I'm so sorry for your loss. We may be strangers, but the pain that comes from a loved one passing away is a bond we all share. For that reason, I hope you don't find me too forward in extending all my sympathies, a hug 🤗 and love ❤️. I wish for you fond memories to carry with you always, wisdom he passed on to you that you may pass on to others in his honor & for time to ease & heal your pain. 💞 Sincerest condolences ~Jenny
“...talk to God and listen to the casual reply...” This is one of the best lines in ANY song; period. This is one of my favorite songs of any artist, ever.
In an interview he was asked about spirituality or religion and I believe he said something along the lines of “I am never closer to god than I am right here in this seat.” Implying he was either always very close to god or he himself is god. I choose to believe the latter is the truth.
We used to drive by Johns place in the white mountains in New Hampshire and there were signs that said New Hampshire loves John Denver. After he died they took them down. this always bothered me, you don't stop loving someone because they died. there still there you just cant see them. Johns spirit and music will always be with us. God blessed you and thanks John for all you did.
i remember having lunch with my brother in the restaurant of The Beverly Hills Hotel in the early 1980's when I suddenly noticed John Denver and his family seated a few tables away. I was a huge fan, but didn't dare intrude on his privacy as they soon rose and made their way out of the restaurant, passing just by our table. He was much taller than I had expected, and he looked just like the photo on this music video. He seemed to notice us as he passed by and gave a slight smile. I wish I had said something to him to let him know just how much joy his music had brought to my life. Looking back, I'm just so glad I had the opportunity to see him that day. It's still a clear and vivid memory.
Had to look after 2 of my granddaughters recently 5 and 7, they normally listen to all the modern stuff that I can't stand. They were colouring in their books and I put this song on, within 10 sec they stopped what they were doing and came and sat next to me and list without saying a word. At the end the 7 year old said " oh poppy I really like that song can you play it again" brought a tear to my eye, haha good music never dies.
There's something just about this song that gets in your soul that made me cry I'm listening to this right now I live in Arizona it reminds me of being a small child 1971.
I'm 47, and when I was a kid, we use to make fun of him and his music, But now that I'm older, John Denver is awesome! His music is great! Soo much talent!!!!
I think i was fortunate enough to be late to the party, Im 20 years old and started listening to john denver at a pretty young age. Not having any previous knowledge about him or seeing him in the spotlight of medial attention i think it helped me better understand his music. Just hearing this song from start to finish was always delightful and inspiring to me. I later discovered he was an inside joke amongst fellow musicians everywhere, but I'm glad i discovered his music before ever doubting giving it a chance. No matter what people may say this guy is amazing.
Tyler Jorgensen same with my dad i was well aware who john was at a very young age his music is addicting thats all my dad played but he too is a person you wouldnt expect to listen to john, im 27 now and I teach at a school in south korea i usually play a playlist during lunch while john denver hasnt grown on them this song in particular seemed to
Jesus Christ This song in particular grows on everyone i think, its funny to think how many people out there have similar stories and grew up listening to Johns music. It always seems to bring back the same feelings and the same little movie plays in my mind every time. Good job teaching those kids man, And showing those kids such classic music.
Tyler Jorgensen Very simply but accurately put. I was just thinking that as I was reading your comment, because I too would listen to it while I was in Afghanistan and it would take me back home, in a trance, thinking about rides out to the woods with my dad in his truck. American classic.
At 27 I got busted dealing drugs, i know, stupid. After dealing with all that i took off to see my grandparents who lived in Ft Collins Colorado. I usually took I80 through Wyoming then dropped into Collins but this time i went through I70 for the first time, WOW! This song touches me as its such an accurate reflection of my life, a new beginning and in a place that i feel at home. I now ride these mountains a few times a year on 2 wheels taking in the sights and smells and I always seem to see new beauty in those mountains and relive "coming home" each time. Thanks John for the music, may you RIP.
I heard that very thing today. I was way up the Caprock Canyon in Texas. I stopped and stood there along the trail, with nothing around me but nature itself. The only sound was the gentle wind in the cedars and rocks and a chorus of birds. No other sound could be heard expect 'the casual reply.'
my wife and I have been married 41 years last March. the summer of '76 we went camping at Breck then went on up o Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. one of the people working at the park that summer put together a slide show and played this song along in time with it (this was way long years before power point presentations). those cold summer nights by a campfire up near the treeline still touch my soul and flood back when I hear this song. Thank you for sharing your gift with us John. this is a better planet because you were here
Lived in Grand County for ten years (1996-2006). Parry Peak, James Peak, Mt. Flora and Mt. Eva are old friends. So are nearby fourteeners like Gray's and Torrey's Peaks, I miss the Colorado high country, and will be reunited soon...probably next mud season. Probably Summit County, but still close enough. Doesn't really matter, the high country is the high country.
This to me is the most beautiful, heartfelt song ever. I can’t listen to it without thinking about the people I’ve hurt and let down in my life, and the need to reach out to every single one to say I’m so very sorry, would you please forgive me. It also causes me to forgive anyone that has hurt me or let me down. We are all human and make bad mistakes. But if Jesus can forgive a sinner like me, I can forgive anyone who has wronged me. Thank you Lord for this wonderful song.
People don't seem to remember BUT in the 70's John was H U G E! Not only in the US BUT Australia and all over the world. He was a great song writer, humanitarian and environmentalist .
This man had a soul he didn't sell it you can hear it and feel it. Rest in peace John you were one of the few good ones ,I hope I'll see up in home day.
I wish he had wrote a song about my island. The island sits on the equator. My grandmother home is on a mountain. I visited her as a young man. I thought my home in New York City was spectacular with lights. Then I saw the lights of god, in the Caribbean. Looking up at the billions of stars against the jet black of the universe could only be correctly described by John Denver. Gods work is truly amazing!
My friends and I made a trek across Colorado through the Rocky Mountains on our way to Utah in mid-September. It was our first time ever making this trek clear across Colorado, although I had been to Colorado Springs and Denver as a 15 year old. I am now 68. When we got into the mountains and they were completely surrounding us the feeling of complete elation was so strong that we hurried and got this song pulled up on my iPad and as we drove, taking in the majesty of the beauty that surrounded us, we sang this song at the top of our lungs with tears in our eyes! It’s a memory I will never forget and one that still makes my heart swell each time I think of it. John had the most wonderful way of expressing the most beautiful experiences in his life…and they resonate so much with us all. That is a true gift! I miss him so much! But am so grateful for his music and time on this earth! May he rest in Heaven
2020 I had my wife in the passenger side, it was a cool January morning. January 7th to be exact. There we were taking in the sites and the views as we climbed the rocky mountain highs. She was afraid as we made our way up windy roads with giants cliffs. I assured her we would be okay and we were. Two short years later she’s gone and left me for another fella. I’m just glad to have had the memories. What are the chances this song came on the radio as were were climbing up the Rocky Mountains?
That sounds like such a magical experience. When I listen to this song I really want to be there in Colorado crying with joy. We are so lucky to have lived in this time of wonderful music. Imagine not knowing this song. Thank you for telling your story.
Have you heard the song he sings w/ Alexander Gradsky? If not you should check it out. It is amazing. It goes by two names, Let Us Begin and What Are We Making Weapons for. He showed a video with it in his '88 Christmas special and sang it live w/ Gradsky in '91. In my opinion, those are the best versions.
Hello 👋 Janet. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I'm Scott Clifford and from Denver Colorado, where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Song writers like this, like John Denver are far and few. Such a natural talent of a song writer. Got to appreciate his song writing and talents as a musician as I aged. But this song will never age.
This guy was easily the best folk artist in history. I’ve been to Colorado. The scenery changes you. All the mountains, trees, and lakes. This music DEFINES Colorado.
Defines the Sierra Nevada as well. This song came out at the same time I was making several Fall and Winter trips to Mammoth Lakes, and I've never seen such pristine scenery before or since. I've always been drawn to the high mountains and when I retire in a few months I'm going to make several sojourns back to the high Sierra -- the best therapy I know.
Top of Pikes Peak, the most mind-blowingly insanely beautiful sight I've ever seen in my life...... I need to go back there if this scamdemic ever ends.
I've lived in Texas my entire life, traveled all over the country in my time but I was lucky to go on a church retreat to Colorado including 4 days primitive camping off Marble Mountain. To say it changes you is an understatement. The mountains get into your soul, and never let you go again.
This song attract me when im worked at factory in Indonesia. I've spent 4 years working, far from hike and climb mounts. Far from my home. I've got much salary but was a worth to life? No In the years 5, i resign from the factory and now i'm work as a teacher in just 15 minutes from Mt. Welirang, from my home. And so much joy when now i can climb with my students and teach them how to love nature and hike. And those 27 years man born in the summer was me. Thank you John, thanks a lot for the song
this song immediately makes my 1 month old stop crying. ive listened to this song over 50 times in the past 3 days, but it always works LOL john is a baby whisper
Wishing you and your baby all the best from Georgia!!! Live it up now, cause they'll be graduating before you know it!!! Hold on as long as you can!💪💪💪👍👍
I'm from NY born and raised. My uncle is Irish American from Queens New York and he was drafted to Vietnam. When he got back he struggled but moved to Colorado and found himself. I went out to Colorado about 2 years ago and I pray I'll be fortunate enough to live there one day.
This song shaped my life. From a little nerdy kid in the boondocks, to the big city to earn my MD, and back to live where I belong. I look out on the mountains every day, and hope I’ll be blessed with a casual reply… but even if I’m not I thank God & John for keeping me out of the rat race where I would have gone insane.
My husband died two years ago. We drove OTR for FedEx. Although our route back to MN from CA did NOT take us through I-70, he looked at me and said, "I don't like driving through the mountains, but I will do this for you! You will NEVER FORGET what you see!" and true to his word, he did...and the majesty is so beautiful of those mountains!!! RIP, Robbie, always and forever, I love you...I have not forgotten.
@@dianebaum91 OMG this song takes me back to a better time a wan in my life. Where is that time machine? LOL there are those day"s I need the music, and on the other days, I need the lyrics!!
I encourage you to go see the Rockies. Eventually. It's a beautiful, relaxing thing, that'll make your life feel more complete. One of those things, that isn't insanely exciting, but makes you feel satisfied. You know you're seeing something important.
Been there 2 years and needed to hear this rn cuz I'm traveling.... when I'm there I don't need John but if I step away for a day and John keeps me calm til I get back
Its a pretty awesome range. The weather is pretty mercurial though; if you're gonna backpack there I recommend going in July-August. Me and my dad spent a week in the grand Tetons in Wyoming when I was a little boy. Great memories.
This song is embedded in my soul. Reminds me of fishing trips with Grandpa up to Bloomfield Vermont in the 90s. John Denver was his favorite musician. We use to own an abandoned airstrip with 50 beautiful acres right along the Connecticut River. A mile of the riverbank was all ours. It's crazy because that far up the Connecticut River, it's so narrow you could throw a rock across it. Where we actually live in Massachusetts, it's 2,100 feet wide. Some of the best fishing you could ever experience is on that land. It is a legendary brown trout hotspot. I learned to drive a car as an 8-year-old there. I rode a dirt bike for the first time there. We used to swim in the freezing cold water and get leeches stuck to our ankles lol. Wish we still owned it. Miss you Grandpa!
Thank you for the post...I live not from where John Denver had a home in Aspen...The mountain here are so beautiful, especially when there is snow on them. (Which is coming really soon). I love this song and miss John...Know that you are loved and missed John and may you Rest in Peace
Mom died this year Nov. 2019. My MOM loved the world, plants and living things; took me to Colorado, when i was a kid. Look and see she would say, see the wonder of it all. Love you mom!
Mountains are so magical. I enjoyed Colorado so much with the majestic mountains over such diverse landscapes. New Mexico in the northern part and the Pacific Northwest also have such wonderful scenes (of places I've been).
+M Zach LOL tell me about it. When I was young I visited my aunt & uncle & I decided I was going to climb the nearest mountain. It's a good thing a neighbor stopped me because I would have been gone for a couple of weeks. The mountain is actually 10 miles away but it looked pretty close to me.
yes, what is really crazy is how prominent the Rockies are. I drove from OKC to the Springs and got into Clayton, NM and was still three hours from the mountains even though you can see them on the horizon.
I worked with the Highlands Police Department the summer John came to WNC to film the movie Foxfire. He was so down to earth and I fondly remember him coming to town to play softball on Sunday’s with the production crew and locals. You left us to soon but your music is forever timeless. RIP John
Sampylonghead He died doing something he loved ... flying. His experimental aircraft crashed into the ocean off the Monterey Peninsula on October 12, 1997
"Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver was officially recognized as Colorado's second state song in March 2007, nearly 10 years after John Denver died in a plane crash
Well, I'd at least love to vacation there! Yeah.. the snow is bad. I watched a documentary about his life/fame, and according to it, his marriage didn't work simply because him and annie were distant, and barely saw each other at the launch of his fame. I just adore his music.
Denver.
Hello how are you doing?

Why is every guy in the US named either Brad, Brandon or Peyton?
He sung at my brothers wedding in 1994 at a Ski Resort in Boulder Colorado (My brothers wife's family had money and connections) and he was a man unlike many. He spent the entire day with us and it's a day I will never forget. He sang for us off and on for almost 10 hours into the evening. He returned the next day to go skiing with the wedding party as well.

Oh wow . That's awesome.. A memory to last forever! Lucky you!

Absolutely
Rocky Mountains are beautiful, as I lived in Breckenridge and Telluride in the 70s. Absolutely wonderful, and growing up with this song, and hearing it over and over again here in Switzerland, makes me totally proud to know what he was singing about.

Still at 70. Awsome, true and soulful.
Same!
@richardwilley5754 same here. My mum and my best friends' mum both loved John Denver and my friend (nearly 50 years on and we're still friends) and I love him too. I remember seeing him in concert when I was 7. Even at that age I loved him.
Grew up on it.... 44 now
I'm a Brit who's never left Europe but John Denver makes me miss America.
Then I guess you'll have to make a trip to Colorado some day. I have never been to Colorado, but I would love to go there. I did go to West Virginia and lived there, and John Denver sang about it, as well:)

It's tough for kids today to understand what John Denver was to American culture in the 70s. The man was everywhere doing everything. Singing, songwriting, acting, producing, and he was pretty much universally loved, even by people who weren't fans of his kind of music.

All I have is my truck, some clothes, and my dog's ashes. I got a thousand miles ahead of me soon. Wish me luck, boys. I'm going to see those mountains again.

What the world needs now more than ever is John Denver.
Yes I wish he was still alive😢
Ed Sheridan is probably close. However, John had so much life experience, better complete song writer as well as musician who understood chords subtleties and harmonies in his prime from 73-76 than Ed. But Ed had more guts to push the barriers of various genres than John who wanted to stay safe.

Damn can't. Add to that

She was my rock and I feel adrift right now
I’m sorry for your loss. Hold yourself tightly and believe
That is such a beautiful story! Thank you for sharing. Your mother is with you forever in your heart and mind. I hope this brings you joy.
It hurts but heads up. Music is so emotive and for me sometimes you gotta turn it off . Rocky mountain high is a superb song but very melancholic.
It'll get easier with the passage of time honey. The breakdowns will lessen, and you'll smile again. Have faith, just like your mama did. ❤

In an interview he was asked about spirituality or religion and I believe he said something along the lines of “I am never closer to god than I am right here in this seat.” Implying he was either always very close to god or he himself is god. I choose to believe the latter is the truth.
John Denver was so squeaky clean, that he was able to sing, "and everybody's high..." and still make it to primetime radio in the '70s.

i remember having lunch with my brother in the restaurant of The Beverly Hills Hotel in the early 1980's when I suddenly noticed John Denver and his family seated a few tables away.

“He lost a friend but kept the memory.”
We all have lost a friend named John Denver. We will always remember you for you beautiful music.
Such a great memory. You are one lucky lady. Those days are gone (for now) but never forgotten.
Amazing experience! Wish i could feel it.
Wow!!! Just wow

John Boutet Iput it at number two, behind "I can only imagine"
Such a great story teller in his songs. Fell in love with him when I was 14. Now 64 and still love live his music.
Hello 👋 Janet. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I'm Scott Clifford and from Denver Colorado, where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Wow 🤩 ❤
I am 16 years old and I love his music anyway ❤
Same
Song writers like this, like John Denver are far and few.
I love colorado even though I've never been there but I would like to go there.
This song attract me when im worked at factory in Indonesia. I've spent 4 years working, far from hike and climb mounts. Far from my home. I've got much salary but was a worth to life?
No
In the years 5, i resign from the factory and now i'm work as a teacher in just 15 minutes from Mt.
Did you see Country Roads by The Petersens? Hope you are ok! Cheers
I love this.. Great tip, Im going to keep that in mind for my Grand kids.. Thank you.
Pair this with a pirate looks at 40 and you'll never have a crying baby again.
Wishing you and your baby all the best from Georgia!!! Live it up now, cause they'll be graduating before you know it!!! Hold on as long as you can!💪💪💪👍👍
Is it still working on your 3 month old?
RIP the wonderful John Denver. At least we have the music.
Opening song to my 87 year old grandma's funeral. One of her favorite songs.
Its my request to have it played at my own. Im 53 so hopefully it wont be for awhile but its in my will.
I'm sure she enjoyed it.
The strings with his guitar in this song played melody in my heart.
A wonderful song piece.
One of the deepest songs you'll ever hear. A true brother of humanity.
I'm from NY born and raised. My uncle is Irish American from Queens New York and he was drafted to Vietnam. When he got back he struggled but moved to Colorado and found himself. I went out to Colorado about 2 years ago and I pray I'll be fortunate enough to live there one day.
Jack Kehrli You'll be fortunate to live their?? I think you mean you'll be fortunate enough to live there
This song shaped my life.
RIP also, John Denver...and thank you.
@@dianebaum91 OMG this song takes me back to a better time a wan in my life. Where is that time machine? LOL there are those day"s I need the music, and on the other days, I need the lyrics!!
I have never visited the Rocky Mountains but with this song I can experience the feeling of being there at any moment. Pure magical song.
You should visit the Rockies, beautiful...and as you walk the paths you can hear the echo “Colorado Rocky Mountain High” through the canyons.
Colorado is paradise trust me
This song is embedded in my soul. Miss you Grandpa!
nothing like trout fishing in vermont
@@st421 Amen!
Wonderful times for you 💕🍄
@@katburns9600 yes it was
That's beautiful, man.♥️
I miss him so much! But I will keep on singing his songs. We lost him way to soon!
What a great man, he will never be forgotten
One of the most talented, and a voice to die for...never be another one like him.
And he did
talented person who left us way too soon very soulful
AMEN
I was fortunate enough to have met John Denver twice. He sang me through some hard teenage years. I will always love him.
Thank you for the post...I live not from where John Denver had a home in Aspen...The mountain here are so beautiful, especially when there is snow on them. (Which is coming really soon). I love this song and miss John...Know that you are loved and missed John and may you Rest in Peace
will you still love me tomorrow
Diana Brantley I agree 100%
Diana Brantley just curious how the winter has been, wish I could see em.
Mom died this year Nov. 2019. My MOM loved the world, plants and living things; took me to Colorado, when i was a kid. Look and see she would say, see the wonder of it all. Love you mom!
So sorry. :(
She sounds like a beautiful lady
I live in Colorado and it's nice, but the most beautiful and majestic mountains I've ever seen by far are the Andes of Peru..
I am partial to the Sierras and Cascades myself. The Alps in Austria are amazing too. I just love mountains, which makes living in Texas depressing.
+John Haring It's the Sierra, not "the Sierras". It's part of the longer term the Sierra Nevada.
I worked with the Highlands Police Department the summer John came to WNC to film the movie Foxfire. He was so down to earth and I fondly remember him coming to town to play softball on Sunday’s with the production crew and locals. You left us to soon but your music is forever timeless. RIP John
Hello 👋 friend how are you doing today 😃 hope am not bothering you??
We did not need antidepressants back then. We had all these great songs that made you feel better.
Brooke Hanley Yes cause I can't listen to this song now...
Best TH-cam comment I ever read
And you know, actual friends around a real campfire to support you. Not just impersonal discussions on social media websites.
It's Spring 1973, all over again!!! RIP, Mr. Denver!
Wait he is dead NOOOOO
RIP MR DENVER
Sampylonghead you didnt know he was dead
Byronman nope
Sampylonghead He died doing something he loved ... flying. His experimental aircraft crashed into the ocean off the Monterey Peninsula on October 12, 1997
"Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver was officially recognized as
Colorado's second state song in March 2007, nearly 10 years after John
Denver died in a plane crash
That makes me want to move to Colorado, that and I want to live where this beautiful man existed.
Well, I'd at least love to vacation there! Yeah.. the snow is bad. I watched a documentary about his life/fame, and according to it, his marriage didn't work simply because him and annie were distant, and barely saw each other at the launch of his fame. I just adore his music.
+Connie Miller I agree with you...late "Fall" when the Aspens are in full color. Lived in CO for 22yrs.
