if you wanna atract the majority of people you want to be just "stylish" wear stuff that you look good in. Sneaking a trend here and there will definitelly help but its not crutial. for most people, being put together and a litlle bit of a personal touch is enough

I know it’s corny but having charisma and being comfortable in what your wearing goes far in terms of style and attractiveness, no matter what your style is. You could be wearing a hoodie but as long as you walk with your head up, people will notice you. I don’t have a definitive style but I draw inspiration from lots of places and past eras, from the 1960s with skinny suits and goth band tees, or these thrifted leather pants I bought to look like Jim Morrison (and I’m a girl). My approach to fashion was always the "capsule wardrobe" kind of philosophy, without overdoing it (all that before I knew it was even a thing). But with high-quality clothing, beautiful fabric, coherent style, timeless pieces that I would thrift or get from traveling the world and that would be quite unique. And although the overall style can be almost underwhelming sometimes, people, men and women, compliment me and my outfits on the regular. I get looks every time walking down the streets of Paris, even to get to the supermarket in sweatpants, or while I just wear an oversize blank white tee or grey hoodie and smart comfy pants with basic sneakers and 2 or 3 accessories But I walk with the confidence that the pieces I wear suit me and my style, that the clothes are well-designed and made of high-quality fabric, in countries or factories with decent working conditions and wages, from brands whose philosophy I align with. Clothing that I love, that I took the time to research and chose, that I feel super comfortable in, and that I can mix together in almost any situation without having to think about it. Seems like I wear basic things that anyone can pull off. And still, people notice. Every day. My friends consider me "the guy who knows his stuff". I'm just wearing jeans and a white tee today... yeah I'm 34 and it's absolute bullshit nowadays. I feel so sorry for zoomers. 6-8 years ago something broke in the fabric of society, before that it was so extremely easy to meet people, now everybody is just closed off and interested in either themselves or supermodels. i really like his last point about dressing for yourself. As a woman, it seems extremely difficult to ever be satisfied with my appearance; i love wearing/would love to wear lots of varying styles from grunge to lolita, streetwear to boho, soft/dark academia, gothic, decora, y2k, etc. but sometimes i get the feeling the more unconventional my clothing is the less people will likely find me attractive. but like he said, the point of fashion should be expressing yourself, and it feels incredibly amazing when you reach that point in your fashion journey. since i stopped dressing for others ive felt so much better about myself. i very much view fashion in the same way someone would go about character design for a game or comic book or manga. in fact, i take most of my inspiration from fictional characters just because i feel like theyre often very creative and unique. i myself enjoy drawing and whenever i notice that i keep drawing a particular "thing" (such as heavy spiky lashes, spiky hair, chunky shoes, bright colors) i usually end up trying to wear those same things in real life. i do however understand that not everyone is out here trying to look like they just came straight out the met gala or a video game, and i admit that sometimes i dress down going out just because im not feeling it, but thats the point. i dress according to how i feel and what version of myself i feel like that day, so if you want to dress up then go ahead and go all out! if you tend to lean towards trendy fashion or simpler aesthetics theres also no shame in that if its what you feel best in. i also love this approach towards clothing because it doesnt box people into just one style, you can definitely wear different styles for different days or even mix them together in one outfit to make for a truly unique masterpiece. fashion is art and art is subjective. so yes, while a majority of people probably like the same general style, that doesnt mean people with more niche tastes dont also enjoy trending fashion and vice versa. and even if the average person doesnt like your personal style there is bound to be someone else who has the same vision as you and will appreciate your work 10x more. TLDR: wear what you want and dont think about what others would want you to wear. fashion is an art so you should have fun with how you express yourself. there will always be people who will like you despite what you wear and whats important is that you feel good about what youre wearing.

I actually see a lot of tiktoks from women complimenting the whole ‘old money aesthetic’ which is pretty minimal/basic. However, usually the pics they show are attractive, tall white guys so it’s hard to distinguish whether it’s the guy in the photo or the ‘style’ itself. As a woman speaking, this is ONLY my personal opinion. Most woman I know, we're talking 18-23, have told me that they like clean styles a lot. Means, not overdressing and don't even try the 20 chains around your neck or wrist. They do appreciate streetstyle too, depending on person ofc. In my opinion, don't overdo it but keep being yourself. As long as you have the confidence to pull off whatever you're wearing, girls might not be running after you, but they'll surely appreciate it. Wear what you want with confidence. my history teacher would always come to our school wearing flashy watches and nice suits, he had some kind of charisma that made everyone enjoy talking to him. I remember one day one of the students asked him why he dresses so formal since it's just school. He told us that when we look good, we feel good. I wear what I like and that gives me a lot of confidence. Kind of embarrassing but I had a lot of social anxiety and trouble talking to girls. The clothes I wear now are probably not going to be super attractive to girls, but I sure as hell love them and it makes me way more confident and outgoing. Confidence is going to be more attractive then anything you could wear.
If anything the way I dress intimidates women or they think I'm gay. Thou I am complimented on my style of dress regularly by men & women. It's nice, but ultimately confidence is key regardless of how you look. Dress nice, but in a way that makes YOU more comfortable/confident in urself and how you express yourself/lifestyle. I’ve been following JQ for quite some time but just recently stumbled upon this video. The last part about him not pressuring people to turn into dark wear moves me. Building confidence and marketing yourself to the right partner is something you should be focused on. You are what you attract. I tell guys to go somewhere (if possible with a female friend or family member. No not your mom.) and see who's checking you out. Your friend can point out the girls you weren't paying attention to. Those are the ones you should walk over and start a conversation with. Just say "Hey, how are you doing?" Don't approach random women (aka harassing them). Just saying if you notice someone locking eyes with you, she's interested. She might look away if she saw that you noticed her checking you out. Just be polite and take an interest in her as a person.

i really like his last point about dressing for yourself. As a woman, it seems extremely difficult to ever be satisfied with my appearance; i love wearing/would love to wear lots of varying styles from grunge to lolita, streetwear to boho, soft/dark academia, gothic, decora, y2k, etc. but sometimes i get the feeling the more unconventional my clothing is the less people will likely find me attractive. but like he said, the point of fashion should be expressing yourself, and it feels incredibly amazing when you reach that point in your fashion journey.
since i stopped dressing for others ive felt so much better about myself. i very much view fashion in the same way someone would go about character design for a game or comic book or manga. in fact, i take most of my inspiration from fictional characters just because i feel like theyre often very creative and unique. i myself enjoy drawing and whenever i notice that i keep drawing a particular "thing" (such as heavy spiky lashes, spiky hair, chunky shoes, bright colors) i usually end up trying to wear those same things in real life.
i do however understand that not everyone is out here trying to look like they just came straight out the met gala or a video game, and i admit that sometimes i dress down going out just because im not feeling it, but thats the point. i dress according to how i feel and what version of myself i feel like that day, so if you want to dress up then go ahead and go all out! if you tend to lean towards trendy fashion or simpler aesthetics theres also no shame in that if its what you feel best in. i also love this approach towards clothing because it doesnt box people into just one style, you can definitely wear different styles for different days or even mix them together in one outfit to make for a truly unique masterpiece.
fashion is art and art is subjective. so yes, while a majority of people probably like the same general style, that doesnt mean people with more niche tastes dont also enjoy trending fashion and vice versa. and even if the average person doesnt like your personal style there is bound to be someone else who has the same vision as you and will appreciate your work 10x more.
TLDR: wear what you want and dont think about what others would want you to wear. fashion is an art so you should have fun with how you express yourself. there will always be people who will like you despite what you wear and whats important is that you feel good about what youre wearing.

As a woman speaking, this is ONLY my personal opinion. Most woman I know, we're talking 18-23, have told me that they like clean styles a lot. Means, not overdressing and don't even try the 20 chains around your neck or wrist. They do appreciate streetstyle too, depending on person ofc. In my opinion, don't overdo it but keep being yourself. As long as you have the confidence to pull off whatever you're wearing, girls might not be running after you, but they'll surely appreciate it. Wear what you want with confidence. my history teacher would always come to our school wearing flashy watches and nice suits, he had some kind of charisma that made everyone enjoy talking to him. I remember one day one of the students asked him why he dresses so formal since it's just school. He told us that when we look good, we feel good. I wear what I like and that gives me a lot of confidence. Kind of embarrassing but I had a lot of social anxiety and trouble talking to girls. The clothes I wear now are probably not going to be super attractive to girls, but I sure as hell love them and it makes me way more confident and outgoing. Confidence is going to be more attractive then anything you could wear.

If anything the way I dress intimidates women or they think I'm gay. Thou I am complimented on my style of dress regularly by men & women. It's nice, but ultimately confidence is key regardless of how you look. Dress nice, but in a way that makes YOU more comfortable/confident in urself and how you express yourself/lifestyle. Building confidence and marketing yourself to the right partner is something you should be focused on. You are what you attract. I tell guys to go somewhere (if possible with a female friend or family member. No not your mom.) and see who's checking you out. Your friend can point out the girls you weren't paying attention to. Those are the ones you should walk over and start a conversation with. Just say "Hey, how are you doing?" Don't approach random women (aka harassing them). Just saying if you notice someone locking eyes with you, she's interested. She might look away if she saw that you noticed her checking you out. Just be polite and take an interest in her as a person.
I get the most attention/compliments from women when I’m wearing the absolute most basic clothes, jays, beige baggy/kind of baggy pants, a flannel and black shirt underneath, like a NPC from 2019, I don’t really care about fashion that much I just like looking good.

For me when I get dressed I mostly do it for myself and I decide based on the weather, how I feel and what how I wanna be seen in the public. Even if i'm trying to be a fashion girlie nowadays, we actually don't have our expectations very high for men's fashion for the most part. You see, there are even videos out there asking "is this a fit or he's a man?".
I see fashion as a good condiment or seasoning like ketchup or basil. Salt and Pepper help enhance the flavor or steak, but women make their choice based on wanting a good strip or ribeye.....and no amount of seasoning will impress someone who got a cheap eye of round piece of meat.

This video was just a light hearted video nothing serious was supposed to be taken. the idea is still there in regards to physical appearance being a more general person even with fashion will get way more support than having a niche no one understands or wants to understand. There are many people curious and open to understand things but the mass mainstream tends to push it aside and ignore what they dont understand and write it off. They would rather go to something recognizable and comfortable than something new and hard to understand.
You don't get compliments from women not because they don't appreciate your style, but because as a woman we have to weigh whether it's worth the risk of a strange man thinking we are hitting on them and then getting aggressive when we let them know we are not.
