7:15. he is pointing Castel San Pietro in the upper side. All that hill is a Roman area, and on the basement of the hill, just near the road you are watching there is the Roman Theater. Honestly Verona is a total Roman city.... it's not just the hill :) Also the Ponte pietra is a roman bridge :)

7:46 the building on the top of the hill was an Austrian military fort built in 1830s (Verona was one of the fortresses of the Austrian Quadrilatero), today it is a sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes.
11:44 the second oldest high school gymnasium in Italy (it was inaugurated in 1804)
Duomo (from Latin domus, house) is the main church of a city. Cathedral (from Latin Cathedra - chair/trone) is where the bishop's Cathedra is. Usually the Duomo is also a Cathedral, but not always, for example the Duomo of Monza is not a Cathedral. It's the main church of Monza, but Monza is not a episcopal seat. The correct name of Duomo di Verona is Cattedrale di Santa Maria Matricolare. Verona has also 2 Basilicas (Basilica di San Zeno and Basilica di Sant'Anastasia). Basilica from Greek "basileus+oikos" that means house of the kings, is a church of particular importance and artistic value. Verona was the papal seat for a short period, then the Veronese grew tired of the Pope in the city and chased him away.
In origin Osteria only sell wine, people went to Osteria to drink wine, often bringing food from home. They were more or less the same thing as a pub, with wine instead of beer. Then the Osti (you may understand this word, because it has the same origin of Host), began to also sell food, today they're basically restaraunts twhich have kept the old nomenclature and no, they're no always cheaper than restaurants. For example the Osteria Francescana in Modena is a 3 Michelin stars restaurant elected best restaurant in the world more than once, and it's not cheap (the tasting menu costs more than 300 euros per person, wine not included).
Duomo of Verona and Duomo of Firenze are in two completely different architectural styles. The Duomo di Verona is Romanesque (and older than the Duomo of Firenze), the Duomo of Firenze is Gothic/Neogothic/Renaissance.
P.S. All the red stone you see is the Red Marble of Verona, it's a limestone quarried in the mountains north of the city.

@ConnerSully I'm really glad you liked "my" Verona even if you missed some beautiful places.
Just for your information, that wine you had is called Valpolicella Ripasso.
It's not the classic Valpolicella wine, its name “Ripasso” more or less means "to go through": before being aged in barrels, the basic Valpolicella wine is poured into the vats where the grapes used to make Amarone wine (probably the best and most famous wine of this area) have been previously crushed, leaving it to rest in contact with the freshly pressed pomace for about a month. In this way, the basic Valpolicella wine receives from the dried pomace some of the aroma that is proper to Amarone.
You said it is fruity and you are right, Ripasso typically has notes of red berries and vanilla, sometimes roasted tobacco.
Love all your videos by the way!

The main bridge you have crossed over i believe it was built by the ROmans in the 1 century a.d. You should visit the off the beaten tracks, there are plenty of towns in the country. Dont focus only on the city. Ask the locals whever you go. If you travel down the south, check Vicenza-Padova over there. Besides, there is Bologna-Rimini- Sant angelo di Romagna- San Marino-Gradara-Urbino-Ascoli Piceno-Ripatransone-Offida and on and one

P.S.: The "osteria"(tavern) was once a kind of inn for travellers, where they could refresh themselves, drink and eat something and also spend the night. Then, especially in rural villages, it became a place frequented by men, who wanted to relax in the evening, drinking a glass of wine and playing cards in company. Now it has been reborn as a small "trattoria" (small family restaurant) where, however, more than eating, you can enjoy a glass of good wine together with a snack

“Unfortunately” for a tourist, Italy has an artistic, architectural and cultural heritage that not even the majority of Italians themselves know, because it is so widespread that only experts know. Basically, either you choose to visit various individual cities (so you have a very superficial vision) or you choose to select a province and spend your holidays there. I am writing based on my experience in the US where I lived for many years in Philadelphia. At first I focused on what tourists usually see (Manhattan, Capitol Hill, Philly downtown, Valley Forge, etc.) then I went to discover small towns or areas outside of mass foreign tourism thanks to my American friends but that are useful to understand a country. In Italy it is more complicated because many masterpieces are hidden or closed. It would be useful to have a guide.

Nothing of this happened he just kept dreaming of being part of the Verona's community which is impossible. Or willing to find some sort of familiarity with the locals not knowing they have just lost their one. His culture too distant from the Capuleti or Montecchi's descendants. Being fundamentally a turist hating the other turists. How many misunderstandings. It would be better to spend few euros for a guide. Now he might be knowing somenthing more of the history, the art of the place, which the very same locals have forgotten all about.

When are you coming to Venice? However, Italy is no longer Italy. The euro and globalization have reduced it to a country only for the rich. If you have money in Italy there is everything. But if you are a worker it is hard, very hard.

At the beginning of the bridge there was a sign you didn't even notice: "built in 100 BC" Does this ring a bell or was Western civilization born in Times Square? Grow up
