Did notice it was jumping and landing way better. I remember way back when Traxxas made serious race machines. And I was a hardcore traxxas guy back then. Trx1, Trx3, blue eagle LS, and srt. Man I wish I would’ve kept them!! And wish they’d get back into racin!!

X1area51 II thanks I already knew that. I was looking for actual spring rates cause traxxas lists the new springs included with Widemaxx kit as 1.xx??? I’m pretty sure they are 1.725. The stock front are 1.210 and the stock rear are 1.450 as shown on A-Main Hobbies site.
I'm commenting b4 the install, yes it's worth it 100%, and it's very easy install hardest part is the C clips on the driveshafts, but other than those clips it's a piece of cake. Was fun to do, good project..

They released this without giving or saying you need longer driven shafts. The shafts are weak when popped out so far. Bunch of people twisted them after installing it, without changing to longer driveshafts. It won't twist with the stock arms.
I had the red and blue body kit so i got the white wide kit i see a lil bit of a difference in how it turns won't roll as easy but nothing to crazy. i still like it, takes jumps well.
As a hobby store worker, these things break castor blocks like mad. Every customer complains that the VXL rustler can take way more of a pounding. Traxxas is starting to turn into pre bankrupt HPI
My Maxx can take a BEATING! It was fine stock because I run on loose surfaces and when on grass, it was fun to control the roll with the throttle. I have since installed WideMaxx, steel CVD's, splines hubs, aluminum C-hubs, HR aluminum steering bellcrank, and my stock X-Maxx servo with steel gear kit (steering is super strong now) and the truck is just great. Still haven't spent near as much on it as my Kraton LOL. The Maxx is now a "high performance" monster truck. BUT, the Maxx dies not need any of the hopups. Stock is super fun and durable.
I think if u turn the adjustment on the shock body to stiffen up the back shock springs it might help take a lot of the body roll out of it also. Try it and see what u think.
500k diff oil in the rear to lock it up and stop it from diffing out you will be able to slide the ass end around as well. Makes it like a posy effect. Will help stop rolls to

Those long jumps wore fantastic. As you say, it's a monster truck and the center of mass is pretty high. Those arms changed plenty though, seems like a great idea!
I think that there should be a longer chassis for the power the maxx puts out. I want a 1/5th scale gas powered t-maxx with a quad cab chassis and wudemax kit.
It’s VERY WELL worth it. The thing that pisses me off is the drive shafts and the plastic parts. I have pretzeled those things and they twisted and snapped off twice now. Once during regular driving and almost totally tonight. I just purchased some sweet Pro-Line Badlands MX 38 3.8” mounted tires. Looked gorgeous on the car. The truck handled them fine but the drive shafts started to pretzel and I was taking it VERY slow and easy too so I could get a feel for the tires because they are quite larger than the stock maxx tires. Anyhow. I’m wondering if I should just bite the bullet and go with the steel drive shafts and take the time to install them before I go ahead and return these tires. Would be a shame to return the sweet tires if the car could handle them with the upgrades drive shafts. The thing should come with the steel shafts anyways.
Definitely great video 👍🏻 You could clearly see the difference between wide maxx and stock maxx. You should try it with a set of RedCat Kaiju tires on you maxx . Definitely turns it in to a back flip monster. 👍🏻
Arrma has its own set of issues. The stock shocks and servos are worse then Traxxas and the stock Arrma Remote and Receivers have horrible range. But from a maintenance aspect they're easier to clean and the motor and ESC they use run cooler then the VXL systems.

I know the maxx diffs are a LOT stronger than the older models,but my o.g revo would strip a differential every time I ran it with steel driveshafts, I finally went back to the stock plastic axles to fix the issue. Does anybody think that could be a problem on the Maxx? I'm pretty happy with stock maxx so far,I might go wide later on,pretty steep price tag on top of an already spendy truck. Gotta pay to play.

The original setup is inner hole and the traxxas wide install vid shows using the inner hole also with the widemaxx kit (althought it does not say anything about which hole to use). I used the inner hole cause I thought thaT would give it alil more height, although of course not much. Did you make a direct decision to use the outer hole and if so why/what difference is it supposed to make? Luv your vids, keep up the great work.

14 years ago close to when the deco cane out I was racing off road and they cake out with a truggy kit fir the revi hell they didn’t even have a erevo at the time only gas ⛽️ or I think anyway it was nasty got rid of most of the plastic type shit mip cvd’s like just tons of shit really nice shocks you name it but looking now I’d have to say the Kraton is in a league if it’s own fir bashing it’s more on a race level Way easier to work on just more rave like even more sturdy lower profile many things I could go on now Traxxas to me is still fir the kids or beginners like really nice if that’s all you do is bash maybe but if your a avid rc errrr the kraton is just awesome I see a guy jumping 80’ many many times in a day running crazy 😜 and not breaking it just keeps taking it
Traxxas does it again a 600 dollar truck that can’t take a corner without flipping. I don’t get why do many people love traxxas so much to me there are tons of other cars that are a better value for the price. They sell a car then you have to buy 300 dollars worth upgrades to get it to drive the way they show it in their videos when they release them.

The Traxxas maxx is amazing! It’s extremely durable I jump mine all the time and haven’t had to repair a single thing on it. As for the rolling over it’s blown way out of proportion. If you drive the truck normal and slow down for turns it almost never flips. In fact I’m not sure I even want to buy the wide maxx kit because I don’t have any issues with it rolling over on me. I think people are trying to take corners like it’s a car and that’s just not what it was designed for.
I spent 800 because my son kept rolling it over and the steel shafts are stupid that don’t even come with the fucking wheel nuts now he can’t use his car for a month for the parts to come . And don’t get me started on the battery’s . But in the end the truck is still pretty durable and fast
Love your channel mark very helpfully on some questions i had. I’m newish to rc world. My dad had I believe a traxxas hawk while I was a kid and my grandpa gave me a traxxas boat when i was a kid. I got away from the adult rc cars for a long time pass year I have been think of buying 1. My buddy let me drive his e revo 2.0 and tht made up my mind. I looked I liked the hoss and the maxx. I finally decided on the maxx. Got the rock n roll maxx 4th of July weekend. Don’t regret getting it. Upgraded to the blue widemaxx kit, 70 weight oil in shocks, and put 100k diff oil in the diffs. Im looking to do more upgrades later on. Im just looking for a battery with a longer run time now. I have a 4s 5000 mah 50c battery now. U have any suggestions on what battery I can get a longer run time out of?
I just bought a used Traxxas slash 2wd nitro..and I only drove it for like five min then I gave a little bit more throttle and it didn't respond..so I tried to bring it back to me and it just went crazy lucky I caught it..any ideas what it can be like if it wasn't listening to the receiver..it wasn't even more than 10ft away from me and it was acting like it was 90 ft away
Put 70 weight oil in the shocks, kick the bottom of the shocks out to the outer hole, and lighten up the diff oil. Mine never rolls, even on the street. Best of luck.

We have hit something impressive upgrading your car to stop it from rolling over just trow 100k diff fluid in the rear its going to oversteer but wont flip
You might need the drive shaft upgrade kit Exocaged destroyed all four of his, so maybe he is not so kind to his. Don't forget the TRAXXAS UDR, you might also like the LOSI Super Baja Rey and maybe the Super Rock Rey, this might be my next purchase, was hoping the company who make a clone SBR would make the buggy also as the clone is way better IMHO. The spring swap is a must after watching other's who did and those that did not. Oh and sell some of your Revos to make way for some more modern RC vehicles, or are you going to be like the old guy and his Model T's You need swaybar's to get rid of some of the rolling, not sure anyone making them yet.

Dimi which traxxas rod ends did you use 5525? What length turnbuckle did you order?

Get the 1.8 for the rear and run the 1.4 up front with 90wt done and done

I think it is, but I also had to install the steel CVDS too because I started snapping off the standard plastic driveshafts.

I have the Xmaxx and an E Revo, I can't see spending nearly 600 on a truck that needs another 200 just to be drivable.
right? I can spend $50 more here in CO for an e revo and get 6s, steel cvd's and a more proven platform. This thing should have been $450 at most.

I bet of they have sway bars for the Maxx and readjustment of the suspension setup. It help eliminate body roll.

Maxx is super fun. It feels heavy and can take alot of abuse. Had some nasty looking landings and nothing broke yet.

So far I've put summit 3.8 tires on mine ,handles a lot better &the wheels are offset ,so that helps

14 years ago close to when the deco cane out I was racing off road and they cake out with a truggy kit fir the revi hell they didn’t even have a erevo at the time only gas ⛽️ or I think anyway it was nasty got rid of most of the plastic type shit mip cvd’s like just tons of shit really nice shocks you name it but looking now I’d have to say the Kraton is in a league if it’s own fir bashing it’s more on a race level Way easier to work on just more rave like even more sturdy lower profile many things I could go on now Traxxas to me is still fir the kids or beginners like really nice if that’s all you do is bash maybe but if your a avid rc errrr the kraton is just awesome I see a guy jumping 80’ many many times in a day running crazy 😜 and not breaking it just keeps taking it

Traxxas does it again a 600 dollar truck that can’t take a corner without flipping. I don’t get why do many people love traxxas so much to me there are tons of other cars that are a better value for the price. They sell a car then you have to buy 300 dollars worth upgrades to get it to drive the way they show it in their videos when they release them.

Chris Oly I have a arrma granite blx that I have left completely stock...it’s fun as is....I have owned traxxas stuff in the past....glad I know better now...
The Traxxas maxx is amazing! It’s extremely durable I jump mine all the time and haven’t had to repair a single thing on it. As for the rolling over it’s blown way out of proportion. If you drive the truck normal and slow down for turns it almost never flips. In fact I’m not sure I even want to buy the wide maxx kit because I don’t have any issues with it rolling over on me. I think people are trying to take corners like it’s a car and that’s just not what it was designed for.
I spent 800 because my son kept rolling it over and the steel shafts are stupid that don’t even come with the fucking wheel nuts now he can’t use his car for a month for the parts to come . And don’t get me started on the battery’s . But in the end the truck is still pretty durable and fast

Love your channel mark very helpfully on some questions i had. I’m newish to rc world. My dad had I believe a traxxas hawk while I was a kid and my grandpa gave me a traxxas boat when i was a kid. I got away from the adult rc cars for a long time pass year I have been think of buying 1. My buddy let me drive his e revo 2.0 and tht made up my mind. I looked I liked the hoss and the maxx. I finally decided on the maxx. Got the rock n roll maxx 4th of July weekend. Don’t regret getting it. Upgraded to the blue widemaxx kit, 70 weight oil in shocks, and put 100k diff oil in the diffs. Im looking to do more upgrades later on. Im just looking for a battery with a longer run time now. I have a 4s 5000 mah 50c battery now. U have any suggestions on what battery I can get a longer run time out of?
I just bought a used Traxxas slash 2wd nitro..and I only drove it for like five min then I gave a little bit more throttle and it didn't respond..so I tried to bring it back to me and it just went crazy lucky I caught it..any ideas what it can be like if it wasn't listening to the receiver..it wasn't even more than 10ft away from me and it was acting like it was 90 ft away

Put 70 weight oil in the shocks, kick the bottom of the shocks out to the outer hole, and lighten up the diff oil. Mine never rolls, even on the street. Best of luck.

Can you do this wide kit for a T-maxx?
I had a hobby shop put the widmax on. Did you have any problems? All my drive shafts twisted not sure what to do.
With the wide kit, is the self-righting function still working as good or does it effect this negatively?
What shock oil at do u have when testing the wide kit?
Can you do a comparison between this and the tekno mt410 ?

We have hit something impressive upgrading your car to stop it from rolling over just trow 100k diff fluid in the rear its going to oversteer but wont flip
You might need the drive shaft upgrade kit Exocaged destroyed all four of his, so maybe he is not so kind to his.
Don't forget the TRAXXAS UDR, you might also like the LOSI Super Baja Rey and maybe the Super Rock Rey, this might be my next purchase, was hoping the company who make a clone SBR would make the buggy also as the clone is way better IMHO.
The spring swap is a must after watching other's who did and those that did not. Oh and sell some of your Revos to make way for some more modern RC vehicles, or are you going to be like the old guy and his Model T's
You need swaybar's to get rid of some of the rolling, not sure anyone making them yet.
