I watched one of your videos last month about quitting marijuana while I was high, and I decided to throw away all I had and blocked my supplier 😂😂. I've never smoked since that day, and I feel like a normal human being again. At the moment, I'm still dealing with procrastination and being consistent with exercise. My withdrawals are not that bad.

Hey, i am smoke free since 10 days now and I keep watching your videos to keep myself motivated.
I’m 29 years old, started smoking at the age of 15, and 2 years ago I switched to vaping, constantly hitting it, constantly thinking about it.
I quit smoking 10 days ago, I knew how hard going cold turkey is, because I did it once before. So what I did in the first 5 days of not smoking I took 5 nicotine pouches on the first day, then 4 on the second, etc., I bought a nicorette spray for emergencies and I only used it once in the past 10 days. Today is my fourth day completely nicotine free and I must say this time quitting, at least until now, feels much easier, i think I can make it this time, the cravings are there, but they are getting easier to handle every day. I keep myself busy by working a lot, meeting lots of friends and doing high intensity workouts at the gym. I even bought berry flavored toothpicks to keep my mouth busy when I feel the urge to hit a vape.
It is manageable, to all you out there: you can do it! 🤘🏽

I’m wanting to stop drinking, vaping, and using zen.
    I quit using m3th - administered through injection. 😅
I know you don’t specifically talk about amphetamines.
But, I just applied the same mindset/techniques and it worked great for me.
Coming up on 7 months clean, with only one relapse.

I’ve been smoking for as long as I can remember, growing up with it. I’m about to be 20, at 16, pushed outta my home, dropped out got my ged and spiraled. I kicked an opioid addiction at 15 but weed alcohol and cigarettes I think are my real killers. That trio has landed me in the hospital countless times for different reasons. I’ve tried to quit but I work daily, with having to socialize so much the irritation and aggravation become too much and I smoke another🤦🏻‍♀️ I know I’m choosing to smoke, not go through the withdrawal, I feel like it’s easier to handle my responsibilities that way, but it’s draining me. My family and friends happily smoke so I just wanted to make a comment to share with people I guess that might be in the same situation

At the same point here, but since 2 years ago I don’t have contact with family anymore because they are all addicted to negativity, toxic relationships, unhealthy eating, alcohol, smoking, weed and medications. I felt very drained when meeting them and also couldn’t get over childhood neglect and abuse. Went to therapy for that and now still in it to resolve/ work on other issues. I’ve been saying I HAVE to quit for a long time now. Successfully quit weed/ hasj 10 months ago, with 1 slip 2 weeks ago and immediately felt like okay, I don’t feel guilty but I feel very strong that it’s what I do not want anymore. I do not miss it. Where I at times smoked 3 pre rolls a day! Now I set myself a quit date on 21st of September to stop drinking and smoking, where especially drinking was a 1,5 year destructive daily!!! vice, 3 bottles of wine barely food barely sleep, psychotic episodes. I had a lot of struggles and no employment. But I see now that the addict in me will find a reason anyway… I’m keeping my quit date but really am thinking maybe just ‘now’ is the time. As I postponed so long already. I think that’s a good thing in my process. We can quit, we just have to really want it and do it, and keep doing it. Or rather not do it 😂 we do not need drinking or smoking. Same for other vices.

Hi Dr Frank, been watching a lot of you're content lately, really appreciate your vids. 1 week off weed/tobacco so far here. Just an idea for the future, what I struggled with wasn't nicotine/weed separately, but using both at the same time (smoking bongs with a 50/50 mix). Browsed a lot of your channel and don't remember seeing a vid that addressed the physical and mental effect of quitting both substances combined at the same time. Might be a good idea for a future video. Anyways thanks a bunch brother

It is a good story line and journey for following to achieve a set result. What seemed to be missing was nutrition and maintaining a good diet and blood sugar levels. So many people I know smoke tobacco or use Nicotine as a partial basis for maintaining a certain level of feeling not hungry. Then others go a step further and over eat so as to gain weight after quitting Nicotine consumption. I agree with the concept of one needing a year or so, to help you sort out many of the various ways to be tempted into using once more and then moving on from that urge or temptation.
One of the quickest ways that I found that starts people using Nicotine or tobacco again is, hanging out with people after that 2nd drink in a party or pub scene, as people light up outside in the group setting, while continuing to consume their beverage. By the time the event is over with, so are three or more drinks and cigarettes. So now you have set yourself up again to want more Nicotine shortly. And then the consume and repeat cycle begins anew.

Dr. Frank, cigarettes were the hardest thing for me to finally kick (4 years ago), then I went to Black and Mild cigars (kicked those a year ago), and vaping (finally kicked 2 months ago), using the patches and gums in between... Smoked cigarettes and weed for over 30 years. Nicotine and tobacco were the hardest for me to kick, versus THC (which was the easiest; kicked that a month ago)! And alcohol and caffeine was in between in difficulty quitting.

@@evc6436 coffee severely messed up my central nervous system. I drank coffee everyday multiple cups a day, and it screwed me up so badly. Took away my appetite, caused me to not be able to absorb nutrients from my food, gave me stomach issues and acid reflux.. you should probably not recommend people pump themselves full of caffiene daily. The withdrawals from caffiene were some of tge worst symptoms I have ever experienced. So glad I quit caffiene. My appetite is back, energy levels are balancing back out, I no longer shake, I can absorb nutrients from my food and my heart rate is now at a regular rate. Caffiene was messing me up in more ways than my smoking habbit has. I'm about to work on kicking cigs but getting off caffiene was the best thing I ever did I think. Caffiene is a drug... consuming 5 cups a day is an addiction sir.

@@evc6436 lmao NO! Caffiene is a drug.. consuming 5/6 cups a day is an addiction and messing with your central nervous system. I was a heavy coffee drinker and it wrecked me. Took away my appetite, hindered my ability to absorb nutrients from my food, I stayed nervous and easily feel into nausea, stayed shaky, heart rate was always at an unhealthy level, etc.. cutting out caffiene was the best thing I ever did, and I'm a smoker lol I'll be cutting out cigs soon, but caffiene was literally keeping me chronically dehydrated, underweight, and caused so many issues. You probably ahpuld not tell people to drink so much coffee, no matter what you say, it isn't healthy.

Hello young man :) I am 28 years old and haven't smoked or drank alcohol for 6 months (more or less, but no ciggs since December) I wanted to congratulate you, but also warn you not to let your guard down. I did have 3-4 week attempts in the past when I was younger. I just want to say that you are making a comitment here for your whole life (kind of like marriage) You will save thousands of dollars in your whole life. You want to be smoking for the next 10 years when you're 30 years old and have short breath, suffer impotence etc ? Or be in good health ? I have made amazing gains at the gym and even though I didn't become a milionaire I did save up money for the best vacation of my life and other good things :) And I'm very proud of myself, seeing where I was before in life. And I just wanted to say don't stress too much about the career, you've still got many years ahead of you. It will still take time for you to totally adjust to the non-smoking. Take things easy, my man, some things need to be taking slow in life and they need time. Focus on hitting that 3 months mark, my man. After 1 month you're still in the danger zone. Build healthy habits like exersize, praying etc. etc. Sometimes you also just need to relax and not "do things" all the time, and take life as it is. Anyhow, that's what I wanted to say. I get a carving very rarely now (once/twice a month?) but I know I'll lose the gym gains and so much money etc. etc. (and confidence and xx health ;) ;) ) and it just doesn't seem worth it totally. Yes, that's all I wanted to say and wish you good things, my man.
