high refresh rate monitors honestly makes me work better because the cursor feels more precise
After a high refresh rate monitors, everything else at 60 Hz feels like a slideshow.
Good to have old eyes, I barely see difference :)
@@AivarsMeijers change on iphone to 60hz and ull see :D
@@AivarsMeijersno way you cant see different bteween 240hz and 60hz... im sorry but thats copium
@@leonasdev I can see it. Cursor moves are smoother, but I had to pay attention to notice that.
I'm pending most of the day writing and reading code, for that 60hz is fine as well.
@@AivarsMeijers i see. that make sense.
You haven't tried 43" monitor yet. Trust me, you'll never go back once you own one.
I tried 34" curved one, I went back to 24 (just because I got for free, probably would prefer 27) and I prefer it :D
@thepawelk Of course, you went back. I'm not talking about those monitors (34", widescreen, etc.). A 43" monitor is like a 27" one but MUCH Larger, super nice to use with plenty of space for everything. I read on Reddit how people don't want to go back after switching, and now I can confirm it. It's like having better equipment, when you're not realizing its worth at first. Once you go back to what you used before, you can tell yu've been upgraded. My previous setup was three 24", now I'm fully on one 43".
I had 49" monitor but didn't like pixel density on it. I don't remember what exactly I told in this video a few years ago, but that was the main reason to get regular monitor: th-cam.com/video/skKBHCkJO5Q/w-d-xo.html
Ah, you are on 16:9 43". That's interesting option.
as you use it for work and static content, I'd be interestes in an update in half a year or year on burn-in :)

Love the lighting!
No way that I would be able to go back to 60 hz screen again.
May eyes should be broken, I feel fine to have it :)
Hello sir, I have been following you because I like how humble you are and explain things.
Now is 2025 😊another year and I’d love to start a new career. Do you think being an iOS developer still good career? All this hipe about AI has me confused 🤔 and keeps making me change my mind. Also, I appreciate if you think about another career in computer that might be worthy.
Sorry about the long message and I’d appreciate your insights.
Thanks!
No one really knows how AI impact industry in upcoming years.
Currently, there are still plenty jobs for iOS developers.
It seems the development of displays has slowed down a lot, 4k and 5k displays appeared so long ago and are still very expensive, and the choice is small. 5k 120Hz can be said to not exist.
I am just waiting for 5k 120+hz displays to be more available. Now just using 27" 4k 144hz display from gigabyte: not bad balance between refresh rate, resolution and price, of course.
And yes, difference between 120+hz and 60hz is very noticeable for me. More then difference between 4k and 5k. Recently picked up my old iphone 13 with 60hz display and was surprised how laggy it feels after phone with 120hz.
I am glad for your purchase anyway!
From search:
The first 5K monitor, Dell UltraSharp UP2715K, was unveiled on September 5, 2014.
Apple introduced the 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display on October 16, 2014.
Wow! More than a decade has passed and so little has changed.
Yes, there are not too many 5K options.
I think that most markets are:
Offices - price matters
Gamers - speed and OLED
Media aka Photo & Video - color accuracy
Maybe high resolution market demand is not big enough to care about it 🤔
I think a lot of development goes in to ultra wide high refresh rate displays but main problems are low bandwidth of current most popular HDMI, DisplayPort and Thunderbolt standards.
They are good for 16:9 4/5k 180Hz displays but right now to feed 10-12b panels with data for 6-8k with at least 240Hz you need newest connection standards but they were just released and they are not wide spread.
@ right, right. That’s limiting factor as well.
Thunderbolt 5 can push more data, that’s just released.
You can also use crossover for playing windows games on mac. It works great.
Yeah, I heard that gaming on Apple becoming better, but I already building gaming PC
nice cosy place, you live alone?
Nope, with familly
Please make a video on your next apple computer please!
Cute dog 😊😊❤
what kind of dog is that?!
How's the Stream Deck for Mac in terms of productivity? Is it worth getting? I've read it's not as capable as in windows because of Mac OS restrictions.
I mostly using it for streaming. If you like to go crazy, you can pair it with better touch tool: docs.folivora.ai/docs/1300_stream_deck.html
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use an OLED for static content like a music player, as burn-in can happen quickly
It is not, you are right.
for about 20% of usage it will be gaming monitor and I decided to do not care much if it will die in 3+ years. Until I have warranty.
I use Arch, btw :)
Same dude ;)
I guess this qualifies as a good video now
@@AivarsMeijers Brother from another mother :)
Do a comparison with that BenQ 60hz Code Edition monitor
I don't have it
i think physiologically everthing besides 120Hz makes no difference for humans
Yes. I have 60Hz on Studio Display and 120 Hz on 16" MBP, I can see the difference even can live with it.
240 vs 120 should be different, but I doubt you will see the difference in productivity apps.
For games, that's probably different, but you need qute a beefy PC to push over 120fps
I have 32 inch oled. However i cant wait to switch to 5k display. Im a ppi guy i need super sharp text for working. Im also more productive on 27 inch 2x over 32 inch.
I bought 4K OLED 240Hz monitor for 1700€, primary for gaming. It was very expensive, but it was worth every penny. I use it for my MacBook and programming and it is great, text is sharp and colors are great. I had apple studio few years ago and I would not go back to it after oled
Yeh, I wasn't ready to drop 1K+ for good 4K screen, but I like OLED and if I can get the same sharpness as Apple Studio Display, I would switch
@@AivarsMeijers It is very expensive, that is true.. But to be honest, after getting used to OLED flickering, my eyes are saying thank you.. I am looking at monitor for 10+ hours per day, so I am happy with this investment.
If you are interested in the future, this is my monitor: 32" ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM
Have a nice day

@@balintszy he is a main character for sure :)
