- Gday everyone and welcome back. If im going to be completely honest. Fishing this week has been incredibly tough. I went out for 3 days in a row, with a total of around 9 hours per day for not a bite. I decided to change things up and head out to the sand flats, and it was well worth it. Rod - Shimano T-curve premium, 7 foot 2, 2-4kg
Reel - Shimano Vanford 2500
Lure - OSP Bent Minnow ( colour M91 )
Line - 8lb power pro ( colour white )
Leader - 10lb FCrock

What an excellent tutorial on fishing for flatties in shallow water with the bent minnow. While you were fishing my mind was wandering off to many estuaries where I will be trying out some of your techniques. I can not believe the fishing locations and techniques I have overlooked over the years. Thanks again Josh for such an informative and instructional video.

The t-curve is a great rod. Super light and super sensitive👌🏼👌🏼
Josh the flattie whisperer...........impressive how that flathead just stayed chilled whilst you removed both sets of trebles by hand!!
Never much fun when they thrash around with those two lots of trebles searching out some flesh............ouch!!
A great session to watch and fish Josh - I love seeing the lure getting smashed when you least expect it!

The flattie whisperer🤣🤣 I’m super glad that flathead didn’t go skitz in my hand other wise it would have been a guaranteed treble to the hand. Been there before and it does not feel pleasant at all😬 and this is one of my first videos I’ve been barefoot. I usual always wear shoes because of oysters and sharper stuff under the sand. And or stingrays,😅

Good one Josh, i have never had much luck catching flathead in water that clear, you've done well, Your subs are increasing as they should.
Clear water can be very tricky to fish in. I honestly love it when it’s a bit dirty. But by having that wind there. The fish had no issues going for the lure off the top

Knee deep and waist deep. But the best depth for topwater flathead is knee deep and under👍🏼

@@jordythebassist 100% dude. They cost around $32-$35. Which is a bloody lot for a lure. But well worth. Or even that Berkeley bent. Works the same way but $12 cheaper

Great video champion, would love to see a top water flathead session, with the HM LURES BENT MULLET, BY Dizzy Borg, i picked up a few but haven't tried them yet, ,120 mm and 20 grams, hand made wooden lures, with a mullet print that looks amazing, be good to see a video using it, great work champion,
I have actually heard of those lures before. I’m sure they are cheaper than the osp bent minnow as well. So I would love to know where I could get them from🤙🏼 thanks mate

The luvias already feels amazing and I sold both my vanfords. So I’m planning on getting another daiwa I think. Idk yet I’ll have to see at complete angler. Maybe the certate👀
