So grateful for you, Matt. You helped me discover the BWCA because of those two videos you posted and now I make 4 to 6 trips up there per summer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me find a little bit more of myself.
When you said “get the net” when you got the little guy it reminded me of when I would go fishing with my dad on Lake Erie. He would say that whenever he caught a blue gill or perch. We would laugh so hard! I miss those days.
A most entertaining video with the largemouth in a wonderful lake. I do appreciate the thorough description of the gear and especially that of the rigged lure. I hate those other videos one can find in the internet with lots of screaming and “gimme five” where the anglers seem to forget that some of us want to learn something about the method used in the catch along with enjoying a nice quiet scenery. Oftentimes they even deny us a close up of the fish beauty or, even worst, don’t treat the animal properly before releasing it. Certainly not the case with NDYakAngler. That's why, I guess, many people say that they fish vicariously through Matt.
Cool... pedal power... heat shrink wacky rig... I've caught ONE bass on a wacky rig! Haha.. I'll have to try that more. Thanks for the floating adventure!
The Bob Ross of YT bass fishing, between him and Greg Blanchard, I love these videos. Love the new hobie, I just got the pelican Catch Mode, being able to stand up makes all the difference.
This is officially my favorite fishing channel. I’ve watched about 10 of your videos and I liked everyone of em lol. How do you manage to stay so calm? I get exited over a dink 😂
"They can't say No to the wacky worm!" I love hearing the classic one liners! Really neat to see the new Hobie on the water. I like the breakdown you give on it. You totally nailed it, there is no "one" perfect kayak for all fishing. The right tool for the right job. Another classic video. Thank you!
I hooked into a few decent bass at my favorite pond with a combination of bluegill and perch colored whopper ploppers. The top water strikes never get old.
Can’t wait for bass to open here in Southern Ontario, I’ve been pike fishing from my kayak, I’m seeing huge large and small mouth everywhere, catching lots of pike to keep me occupied.
I enjoy watching your videos. You are probably the coolest TH-cam fisherman out there. You don't create drama and yelling, still being one of the most efficient anglers on YT. Even though I make fishing lures and sell them all around the world, I can rarely go fishing my self, due to my work and having a disabled child that I take care of at the same time most every day. Your videos are like a therapy for me. Thank you and keep up the good work.
I live in the NY State Adirondak's. Thank Sir for your insight and inspiration. Bought my Hobie Compass 2019 to explore and fish the almost unbelievable number of waterways. You and your videos help me get a fish every time I go on an adventure. Hope you get to love your Compass as much as I do mine. Peace and Tranquility!
Great video of my new go-to rig in weedy lakes. It's good for many different scenarios and I tell anyone who will listen. Like my cousin told me..this will change your life..in fishing anyway. Glad you got the new Hobie out there Matt. Blessings
Love the new kayak! My girlfriend loves your voice, and I must say, it is rather soothing lol 😂. I think you have a future in voice-overs and doing audible versions of books. Good luck 🍀 fishing this year brother !!

Another great video, I’m interested in the Hobie Compass. I’m gonna research them on the internet. Great day of fishing 🎣! Laughed at the little pike and little bass. Thanks,I enjoyed it as usual.
I live in central Oklahoma and I sure enjoy your content. Every video is relaxing and you catch beautiful fish! I've never seen a pike before and they sure are pretty! Today's video and all those bass are ah-mazing!
Matt, That little one was big at heart. We have a small lake here in South Central PA, that I can only catch bass with a wacky worm. They hit early morning right up on the bank and generally under low hanging trees and mossy areas. To date, these are the most finicky bass I've encountered.
Thanks, Matt, for another great day of bass fishing. Those were all pretty nice fish! I like your new Hobie, I hope it gives you many, many pleasurable fishing adventures, as I'm sure it will! Take care and be safe.
dude watching these videos made me obsessed with kayak fishing. Ever since I found you I've had the chance to fish out of the kayak a lot during the summer and it's been absolutely amazing. Keep going bro these are the best fishing videos I've ever seen
This was great watching you catch these beautiful bass. The lake the clear water reminds me of wher my dad and i used to go up in michigan every summer , before he passed away. Those bass do look really fat and healthy, nice fish. Thank you for posting, i enjoyed it. Take care.😊
Thanks again, Matt, for taking us along. Glad you are liking the new boat. One of the things that has impressed me is that you've maintained that Tarpon through all these years. The hatch is sun faded, it shows the years of use, and love. Enjoy the Hobie. Just got a Crescent Lite Tackle 2 for Father's Day. Can't wait to get it slimed!
Awesome video! The wacky rig works so well! Especially in pressured waters. I've been getting into throwing big swimbaits and a lot of times i only get follows, but nothing that a wacky rig can't solve! If i see a follow but the fish won't eat the swimbait, I'll toss in a wacky rig and the bass takes that most of the time.
I just found your channel (thanks algorithm, you got it right 😂) nothing like winding down the day with you getting some really good bass of the whacky! Whacky is my go to when the going is tough!!
I love your channel! I followed many channels for years, but your's is one of only a couple I still follow. I fish out of several Hobie's and I have always found that a rudder upgrade like Boonedox is really worth it. I've not fished a Compass but I have had several Outbacks. The stock rudder was always too soft for me, even with regular tension adjustments. Keep up the great content!
New kayak looks great. Nice catches too…I definitely want to save more worms so I’ll try what you’re doing w the shrink wrap… thanks … catch you on your next video!
40 years ago, my cousins and I always hung out together with our spouses, just in general. On weekends, there might be this rather extended, family plans for dinner, movies or whatnot. But then, on Saturday morning, Bill Dance would come on and just drive us cousin/fishing buddies crazy to where we just had to go. We might end up with some "dog house" time for our fishing addiction but man, I have many memories of days just like this. Happy to say that now at 60+, I still have that fishing buddy (sadly, Dave is no longer with us RIP) and we still go wade fishing Tampa Bay or hitting some bass fishing spots. Some of our wildest Largemouth adventures were around the invention of the floating version of the Rattle Trap and the Bass Assassin twitch baits. Then there was always night fishing with the baby Pop-R in baby bass pattern. By night fishing, I mean until 2-3 AM on a work night. As it stands, both of us are into the 10+ LB (on the same day, no less) club.
Welcome to the peddle drive family! It's a game changer for range and more time with the lure in the water instead of on the paddle. Looking forward to the new adventures....
Great video! Love the new Hobie. I purchased a Radar 115 with pedals last fall. I hadn’t planned on getting pedals, but couldn’t pass up the deal. They are a game changer! I will never own another kayak without pedals.
I used a friend’s Hobbie a couple summers ago and I really liked it but I bought an Old Town 106 PDL because it’s easier to back pedal for reverse instead of having to pull the cable for reverse with the Mirage system. They both have their pros and cons I suppose. Great video Matt. I love catching those bass like that with the rubber worms. I look forward to the next video. 👍
You make a great point. With all the grass in my area i normally fish weedless. However I have been throwing wacky and I seem to get those that wouldn't bite weedless. great video
Got my Hobie Compass in March and have been enjoying it ever since. Locally it’s all reservoir fishing here in north Texas so it has no issues and I have gone through some decent weeds with it as well. You are a master with a paddle but I think you will like the hands free approach as well. Love the channel and can’t wait to see how you rig your Compass
Hobie's are really nice but expensive. I still like my Old Town topwater 120 paddle boat. It serves it's purpose. Good looking Yak Matt. Nice set up. Love your videos young man !👍👍
For the rivers in Missouri, I use my Hobie PA12. I only occasionally have to pull my pedals and use my paddles. That is only when the river gets really shallow.
the shrink wrap is the best idea for a layman impromptu attempt at; not only saving baits, but lessening the amount of plastics left in the water. I like size 6 or size 8 octopus hooks for wacky rigs. Circle hooks, depending on the knot are similar. Even if it's one hemisphere of that more durable ring (shrink wrap or whatever).. it will save lost baits, leave less in the water, and catch you more fish.
I’ll still be getting plenty of use out of the Tarpon. A lot of spots I fish going light is easier and they’re small enough bodies of water that I don’t need the pedal drive.
I fished there last summer in my ranger and man what a pain launching the boat lol one day I stroked some serious bigs last couple other trips it was super slow.
You're like the Bob Ross of fishing. So calm and soft spoken. I love it.
Add talented to that
That what i always say 😂
I came to comment that!
Exactly...this channel is so stress relieving
This dudes so much better than those famous fishing youtubers with like millions of subscribers
I honestly do not understand how he isn’t up there with the fishing TH-camrs that have millions and millions of subscribers? What are we doing we need to get his subscriber count up! His content along with the quality of content he creates is bar none
Does subscribers mean they get paid more though? Look at the others you're talking about and the views from their videos. I'd say he's doing better.
All the huge fishing youtubers just play the algorithm game. Yak does his own thing and its fantastic.
He doesn’t make click bait content for children
Subscriber count will help him get seen more that’s all I’m saying! Also I don’t believe he’s in it for the money because he could of sold out to the sponsors which he hasn’t he’s in it for the love of fishing and as a fisherman myself since I’ve been 4 thats what truly respect.
@@i_am_4123 having sponsors doesn't mean anyone sold out. It's quite literally how people make their living. Don't shame people for it!
Definitely a good filler for when I am not fishing. No nonsense, just fishing and it’s like we are all there with him like two guys fishing. Love it.
This has got to be my favorite fishing channel by all means. Goes great with some morning coffee as well
Right? He definitely helped get me more into fishing and especially kayak fishing.
Agree - nothing better than getting your morning going with a nice coffee and some NDYak fishing!
True words right here I drank two cups and enjoy these vids man!
What goes great with morning coffee is being near water landing a nice fish as you have coffee. 😊❤
I agree. Every time I watch him, cup of coffee, and then usually end up in the garage going thru my fishing gear. 😅
He’s back at it again!
Damn Daniel!
I fish for last 20 years and I love it. But what makes me watch this guy all the time is that he is so calm and soft spoken... Ken Block of fishing...
Ken Block??
I get 1 hour for my lunch everyday at work. This is always how I spend my 1 hour. Quality content and relaxing. Best fishing channel on TH-cam by far.
So grateful for you, Matt. You helped me discover the BWCA because of those two videos you posted and now I make 4 to 6 trips up there per summer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me find a little bit more of myself.

I love how quick that kayak gets going
That’s one thing I’ve noticed, you can go from sitting still to full speed much faster than I can with a paddle.
How fast can you go with the pedal drive?
@@ndyakanglerwould you ever consider an Old Town Autopilot with a trolling motor or something similar

the shrink wrap is the best idea for a layman impromptu attempt at; not only saving baits, but lessening the amount of plastics left in the water. Thanks for the show!
