    Hi Crystal, thank you for the tutorial! One thing I am unsure of is, when you are making the audio reactivity, first you start my trimming to isolate the kick drum, but then use the logic to catch the high peak of the keyboard. Why do you trim to isolate the kick, if you then target the peak of a different instrument? Thanks!

    • @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ
      @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think what Crystal meant to say here is that she was isolating the frequencies of the keyboard rather than the kick drum :)

    Very cool tutorial, interesting way of understanding how to make reactive shapes with music. A little disappointed that the tutorial wasn't as explanatory regarding why certain choices and only a match of whats shown. Nevertheless, very cool!

    I want to make some assets to follow along with--does vector/bitmap make a difference?

    • @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ
      @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll want to generally use bitmaps with TouchDesigner. While there is an SVG TOP, it's more of a helper node and not a main node you want to use, because all it does is convert the vector to a bitmap for you, but you lose control over the vector itself. So in most cases it's almost always better to work in bitmap or at least do the rasterization yourself for the best results.

    Great composition!!
    I have a question and maybe you can help me. If I wanted to trigger three different videos based on the volume input received from a microphone, would it be similar to this? could you maybe redirect me to some tutorial? my solution is to connect an audio analysis to a select, but then I'm stuck and I can't figure out what else to connect to make it work. I don't understand how to export the volume values and to make my composition react based on them. I hope I explained myself clearly enough. what I'm trying to achieve is an interactive installation based on audio.
    anyway, great tutorial!!

    • @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ
      @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it would be pretty similar. Especially the part around 16 minutes, where Crystal is using the Logic CHOP with the audio signal to create a 0 to 1 trigger from the audio. Then you can use a CHOP Execute DAT to trigger a one line Python command to play the videos when that trigger goes to 1. If you're having trouble with that, what I'd recommend is checking out The HQ PRO, where we have in-depth workshops on audio analysis and Python usage in TouchDesigner that would give you all the skills you need to get through your setup very quickly: bit.ly/2zJ0lmt

    i have a questions, is it possible to trigger this animation with with a motion tracker?

    • @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ
      @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely! As long as you can connect the device to TouchDesigner (which is likely as many are supported), you can build functionality that takes the device's output and triggers the animation.

    • @pkkuhnmuench
      @pkkuhnmuench ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ thanks for the reply, so the problem I am running into is how to build that functionality. I have been going down a few rabbit holes with reaction diffusion but im a beginner so Im just having a hard tome leaping from motion tracking to activating the trigger.

    Can you do a new simpler version that actually goes over the details? It seemed rushed, no context of the values or operators were given. Going from your tutorial with all explanations to this was a little confusing. I would like to better understand what she was creating verse just duplicating. Thanks

    • @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ
      @TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the feedback! We have a beginner series that's worth checking out if you're looking for more detailed explanations.
      A lot of the videos will assume that folks have some basic-intermediate TouchDesigner skills that they're working on. We stop to explain what we can, but if we explained every single thing the videos would end up being double or triple the length 🙂

    Sorry, but didn't understand 90% of the content after watching previous beginner's lessons. Why she used the numbers, why she used the components and what the component do and I didn't catch what she was talking while the music was ON cuz the music was loud.

    That's cool to learn, but I don't think it's a good fit for the Beginner Crash Course list, unfortunately.
