To complete the whole project is it necessary to have register 360 Can the model be completed 100 percent in the field version and exported to cad or revit from there directly?
Is there any other way to send the data from the iPad to the computer, such as by mail? How can I send that data if I am not in the place where my computer is, but I need to send the data?
I am using Field360 with the P16 (updated to FW 3.0) and Field360 works nicely. However, I just wanted to report that the "True View" point color on the iPad is black/white instead of color. When you demo this with the BLK360 it is in color but with the P16 it is in b/w. Not sure if that is a bug or by design. Not a huge deal, just letting you know there is a difference.
Hi Andy...using Field for first since upgraded...I see how easy it is with a structure, but I scanned a wooded lot here in Williamsburg...difficult to come bakc to register the scans...any recommendations? Best, James
Hi Andy Thanks for so useful tutorial, I'm wondering how can I import the Cyclone field data in to Cyclone Resgister? We haven't the Cyclone REGISTER 360 yet. Thank you.
11:03 It showed 11:01am when you started the import and 11:27am when you said it had finished. Would 25-26 minutes be the amount of time you'd expect it to take to import a file of the size you had there (appears to be 3 scans locations for 1 job)?
When you link between rooms, how do you make sure that the common wall between the rooms isn’t twice as thick as it should be? How finely can you tweak the link? Does the optimization do this step automatically and what sort of error does it have? Thanks
Hi, great video. I have a question can I import into this XYZ files from Matterport into this that I could save them as RCS RCP file? As I use Matterport and BLK to scan and I have times when I need to scan the project into Matterport app but still need to get Point cloud data to work on it in Revit?
Hi Chess, Register360 can’t import .xyz files yet, but I wouldn’t suggest this method anyways because the point cloud that you get in the Matterpak is very heavily decimated and you will lose a lot of detail that you might need for the Revit model. Even when you scan with the Matterport App, all of the raw data will stay on the internal memory of the scanner. You can import this data directly to Register360 and then export as an RCP file. This will give you much higher point-density when you are working in Revit.
Hey there, are you talking about the BLK360 scanner or the Field360 App? This is the lowest-cost lidar scanner that we make. Field360 automatically comes with any version of Register360. Register360 (BLK Edition) is an option that is considerably cheaper than the full version, if you are working with either the BLK360 or the BLK2GO.
Hi All. Hopefully I can get some comments even though this is an old post. I use the BLK360 and Cyclone field 360 with an iPad pro. My main problem is the battery drain on the iPad, especially when you're doing a high detail scan that takes 4 minutes, that's a lot of screen time for the iPad to be on, and I think the obvious way to keep from draining the battery would be to switch the screen off while it's doing a scan. Of course, this makes the iPad lose the connection to the BLK360, and I have to reconnect every time in order to carry on. The same happens when multitasking. For example I'm in field 360, but I want to dim the screen... When I go to settings and back, it's disconnected... So I have no choice but to stay in the app while scanning with the screen on all the time. Strangely I try this on an Android phone, same scanner, and this is no issue. I can lock the phone, or be in any other app during the scan and go back to it without issue when the scan is done... Any thoughts or ideas?
Hi Oliver, unfortunately this is true with the iPad needing to stay in the app, however, rather than backing out of the app to turn the screen brightness down, you can pull down from the top left of the screen for a quick menu that allows you to adjust the brightness without leaving the app. This should not result in a lost connection.
Same here. The link goes to the purchase page without the option to download the promised free trial. We are using ReCap Pro right now and I'd really like to be able to justify switching to Cyclone, but I can't without trying the software first. Any help would be appreciated.
When we transfer the FIELD 360 sets to REGISTER 360, the point-cloud data are only trimmed sets. Would you mind showing us how to connect them with the full-res raw scan data in REGISTER 360 software?
@@keithsnyder8470 It seems that Field 360 does transfer the full set to the iPad. What we see in iPad is a trimmed version for display purpose . Does not affect the quality of registration.
If you recall, only his 3rd scan was scanned without the ipad, and he then imported that scan from the camera to the ipad in the field. At that point, he had all 3 linked scans on his ipad.
Hey Andy. How do you import the scan data so quickly? I've just bought a BLK360 and when importing the scan data from the Field 360 app on the iPad its taking hours to import the data. My last job was only 16 scans and so far has taken four hours to download only 11%!
@@HunterGeophysicsAustralia The best solution I found was to connect My laptop and iPad Pro via network cables to an old router, creating a separate offline network. It still takes a while but its a-lot quicker than using wifi. I used this method because going via wifi on the home network was dragging the internet down for all other users, this way I could just plug them in and let them run.
His 3 scan file appeared to take 26 minutes, according to the time stamp on his computer. It's possible you took higher resolution scans or have a slower wifi connection than him. Also realize that you have 16 scans and he had 3.
@@luke9822 hi Luke, yes you are probably right about the resolution and amount of scans, it also turns out my WiFi was also causing problems, all sorted now though!
Great video, but I have to say that I am a little disappointed with the blk360, I bought a device that is not cheap and you have to buy additional leica software to use it well. and the thermal camera option is absent. I found this a hoax.
Not sure what you mean there. I've been using the BLK and I like it. It's also the cheapest terrestrial scanner out there as far as I'm aware and you don't have to have their software, you can just use Recap Pro. The thermal camera works fine but yea, you do have to use Leica software to view it. You literally just push the show all option on Field360 (you can see it in the video) and you can set emissivity, surface type and gain level.
@@jamesoneill6995 If you're using Cyclone Register 360, the option to measure temperature is right next to the measure distance tool on the toolbar. I don't think the thermal imaging works if you took scans with recap pro app though.
