@@TheOneAndOnlyWeeber69 maybe 1931 was just when some old footage was put together. Newsreels often just used film for novelty effect not being historians. Other sources say closed in 1924. The film looks to have early twenties quality and fashions. 1913 possible but they usually were lesser quality. Captions are all in the past tense. Eg .....where it ran
Incredible film, there aren't too many photographs in total on this railway, so to have a film is something else and it's reasonably clear. Notice how the loco wobbles just after the whistle blows approaching the bridge! I was there the day they announced that they had funding to build a replica. It was on a farm at Lissleton where there were the remains of the original railway put together which I'm sure must have been relocated now to the museum at Listowel.
I've known about the L&B all my life, but I did not know this footage existed. Absolutely riveting.
Thanks for this very rare film. Last ran on October 14th 1924.
A replica now running. I hope Covid issues have not closed it permanently.
You choud solve the whight distribution problem if you keeped whights on the station like some whights that have the same whight as cows
Maybe it's mistaken to 1931 instead of 1913

Great footage - a fantastically wobbly railway!
My grand uncle was the Manager he kept it wobbling
What a novelty, I’ve never seen anything like it!, I’m not going to nitpick but the fact they built it and got running is enough for me!.

Co KERRY ..MUNSTER .IRELAND 🇮🇪.........GREAT IRISH 🛤 RAILWAY HISTORY
My grandfather Edward Dunne was an engine driver on this line and died as a result of injuries recieved in an accident in 1933
It closed in 1924.The Listowel station ran trains to Tralee and also to Limerick .It closed in the late 1960's
The accident must have been on some other line he worked on after this one.
現在は廃線跡にできた博物館にあるんだっけ?
これは貴重な映像ですね😄
怖そうだけど一度は乗ってみたい
This cannot be in 1931; it ceased operations in 1924 and was dismantled.
