To fix a suspension unit you unbolt the old one and bolt on a new one. You don’t even have to remove the track. A Sherman multi bank engine could be swapped out in the field in 2 hours. Replacement of a Sherman gearbox was similarly quick and easy. Sherman’s we’re relatively cheap and easy to build and between 1942 and 1946, 49,324 were produced.
