Great finds! I love estate sales. I have a weakness for beautiful antique monogrammed linens. Quick tip.. soak linens in Oxi Clean for three days and even the toughest stains will disappear.
@@TheNurseFlipper Nope, try it on the white bread napkin. For colorful linens you could let them soak a few hours. Use your best judgement on the textile. It’s amazing how it takes the stains out. I learned this tip from a woman that I buy vintage linens from. You can even use Qxi clean on old quilts. I know dealers that that soak old quilts in bathtubs to get stains out.
I have an old napkin with a bee on it, not sure what else but I got it from a lady I took care of years ago. She wanted me to keep what I wanted and donate the rest. It's ironed and in a package. I gotta get going on my reselling future. Hopefully we find a place soon. Thanks again for the information and great haul
The carved jewelry box was originally a gift box of cookies. I have one from when I was a kid (now am 74), that was given to us at Christmas. After the cookies were gone, I got the wooden box and love it to this day.
I absolutely loved this video!! Last night I watched your how to list quickly video and felt so inspired. Today I will be picking up a haul from an online estate sale. I won at least 7 lots of items! I have lots from other auctions not even listed yet! But this video showed me things that I already have and have yet to list, and so many similar things to what I have. Today I am Picking up a stationary lot. Anyway… excited to list more efficiently and get this stuff listed. This video made me not feel so bad about my huge haul. Thanks for teaching us! Appreciate your videos!
Lol. People who do a lot of traveling tend to bring back small items that will travel well in their luggage or carryon. I've noticed over the years that they'll try to stick with like items. Napkin rings, ornaments, salt & pepper shakers etc. The items are usually for themselves or trinkets for loved ones. Seems nowadays, it's magnets, shot glasses and keyrings lol.
Great haul Kat, but be careful, the Estates can be addictive and the hauls ridiculous when you hit a really good one, but you got to really up your game to keep the listing up with the sourcing. Enjoy!
Hi Kat, Huck is the name of the weave on the towels. Called Huck towels, the embroider stitching is in addition to that and a variety of stitching has been done. Beautiful!
Wow Kat! Amazing haul and for so little money! I wish I could make it to your special camp weekend! Maybe next year if all goes well and you do it again, I'll start saving now and hop on a plane.
The tray with people sitting around the table looks like it was illustrated by Pat Hutchins. She is an English artist that has illustrated children's books.
Kat! That was SUPER, DUPER fun to watch!!😀 So many gorgeous things and things I had never seen the likes of, in my entire "almost half a century" on this Earth!! I've been subscribed to the Antique Nomad. I'm going to be so "starstruck", when I get to meet you guys! Again, what fun video!! Thanks so much!
My daughter is a minimalist (sort of) and says that “experiences” are better than keeping “stuff”… so as I try to pare down my house full of 40+ years of “stuff”, I watch this video… the estate sale family were obviously travelers, spanning the world! So, it’s sort of ironic that that the estate sale house is loaded with “stuff” from around the world, lol.
That "kimono" is actually a "yakuta" a bathrobe .. for wear to and from your room and the hotel bath. That's a complimentary amenity in a middle class hotel, but you're right, it well worth $40 new and unopened.
The New Ohtani is an exclusive, historic hotel in the heart of Tokyo, so it doesn’t allow guests walking around in yukata. 😆 It is sold at its shops as souvenir gifts for foreign guests. Its price is $40 retail, so I guess it’s made well compared to the complimentary ones available for guests to use free at medium-grade or cheaper hotels. (Tokyoite here)
You have a very nice shed! I like seeing the things you decide to keep. I know it's hard to remember everything but do you think maybe George sticks in an item or two that you didn't pick out just to surprise you.

@@TheNurseFlipper There are certain vintage fragrances that command alot of money even if 3/4 full.
