This worked for me. I purchased a replacement controller directly from Ancheer and it slowed my bike down. I think the original one must have already been unrestricted, but the replacement was not. I've read that for other controllers (not Ancheer) simply look for the one wire that originates from the controller, and returns to the controller (a loop), regardless of color. Thanks for the tip!
@@kodfish101 The wire I was referencing is a loop. It starts in the controller and goes right back to the controller. I think the one on the ancheer controller is white. If it’s a continuous piece of wire just cut it in two- or it may have an inline plug and you can simply unplug it. I did that, and I added a 48 V battery, replacing the 36 V, and this bike flies like a rocket now!
I believe those white wires are the ‘road legal’ switch . So for example I have a 1000W motor and with my wires connected (blue in my case, brand voilamart) then it restricts the bike to 250W (wattage limit to be road legal in the U.K) and then the bike is also limited to around 14Mph. Disconnect those blue (white in your case) just removes the 250W limiter and allows 1000W which does about 34mph . But then there is another means of speed limiter still active as at 34mph the motor will cut out and not accelerate higher than 34mph, if there was no further limiter the motor would keep going until it reached the max rpm capable on the supplied voltage. I’ve tested this and added extra volts and still the motor cuts at 34mph. So I believe it’s still using the motors hall sensors to monitor and limit the top mph the motor will achieve, also I believe it can use variables on the 3 phase power supplied to motor to monitor speed and still limit it . I’m going to try disconnecting the motors hall sensors to see if that makes any difference , if not then I’ll be opening up the control box (the small aluminium unit) and investigating in there to see if there’s any bypass or link or something I can find. But good video 👍🏼
This does not fully remove the speed limiter. To get max ( 3rd ) speed you need to open up the speed controller. Then follow the 2 white wires to the circuit board. On the board there should be one wire going to a ground and one to K1 ( or speed 1 or low ) its printed on the board. ( k1 is low speed, k2 is high speed, there is no connection for speed 2/mid ) Now next to K1 you should see K2. You need to connect a wire from the empty K2 connection pad to the white ground wire. This will enable the 3rd & max speed. Almost all brushless speed controllers have 3 speeds but on some Chinese controllers they leave out the jumper wire to enable the highest speed. On speed controllers with the speed limiter white wires the options is speed 1 & speed 2 the controller does have the 3rd max speed but you have to solder the wire on to enable it.

I'm in the US as well, and mine was disconnected. Perhaps it is set that way to plug in if the area it is sold has the law and governs the speed, disconnected if not. Thanks for sharing!
Chris Bohlman that’s exactly correct , it is a 250W restrictor because in the cursed U.K that’s the max road legal to still be classed as a bicycle, any higher and the bike would be subject to the same laws and rules as a motorcycle , license, insurance, vehicle registration and tax, a license plate and MOT (official annual safety inspection ) so by unplugging it you remove that restriction . But there are still Max speed limiters in play, the hall sensors , the motor phase readings or sometimes in the lcd (if you have one , I don’t )
By making this adjustment… I would assume that you would massively limit the bikes range? I have an auto cruise mode which boosts speed but the battery just dumps after a little while

well, thats weird. i opened it up to try to do this, and it was already unlugged. (and im in US.) i had 4 screws on the cover, though. i wonder if mine is a newer or older version? id guess older, as i still dont seem to get the speed you do, or the distance. mine originally only lasted about 12 miles with throttle only, and now only gets about 2-3. hopefully regreasing the motor will help, but i havent had a chance to do that yet.
returnformer the battery size determines the speed. So even if u unplug it. It doesn't mean u will go faster. If ur battery is a 36v times that by the amps of the battery for example 36v 6a battery. U would multiply the 36x6= 216watts. So ur bike wouldn't go any faster even if u take the speedometer off.
thats only partly true. the motor has to be capable of the speed or it doesnt matter what the battery is. but thats only for a simple circuit of just a motor and battery. this is more complicated, theres a chip that controls the speed as well. what this video shows is how to remove the speed limiter, not the speedometer, which just shows how fast youre going (which this bike doesnt have). a speed limiter wont let the motor go faster than whatever its set to, even if its capable of it. unplugging this disables that.
Rubin lopez how would you get too many rpms for the motor to handle? Going down hill? The motors not working as hard in that case, simply spinning too fast i don't think would cause burnout. Burnout would happen if you tried to go *up* too steep a hill and the motor couldn't handle it causing the resistance to build up without an outlet, causing it to heat.

What is the speed of this bike, and is this a good bike.
I want to buy it
Holy fuck, Batman can you not watch the whole video?
That's brown wire for my e-bike. From 20k/h to 35k/h.
do you have 250w motor ? hub or middrive ? thanks
+John Javs: Can you really go up to 21mph after disconnecting the wire speed limit?!!!!
I have a electric bike. I don’t use it anymore now I have a Talaria…. Only use that for little things.
I can’t get the brick off. What tools would you recommend to get it off. It’s shut solid.
Would this work on the ancheer ebike commuter bike 48v 350w? I peg out at 18mph.
Hi I need help with a himo t1 please about the top off speed
What is the difference between the Ancheer and Cyclamatic apart from the color?
Warranty RMA address.
It doesn't harm the motor or battery??
Do you happen to know if I can do this on the speed controller on a Swagtron DB-7 ?
Any idea about yadea ks5 pro ?
well, thats weird. i opened it up to try to do this, and it was already unlugged.
So ur bike wouldn't go any faster even if u take the speedometer off.
thats only partly true. the motor has to be capable of the speed or it doesnt matter what the battery is. but thats only for a simple circuit of just a motor and battery. this is more complicated, theres a chip that controls the speed as well. what this video shows is how to remove the speed limiter, not the speedometer, which just shows how fast youre going (which this bike doesnt have). a speed limiter wont let the motor go faster than whatever its set to, even if its capable of it. unplugging this disables that.
really I was under the impression that the motor would burn out if it couldn't handle the rpms didn't know they come with a built in limiter.
Rubin lopez how would you get too many rpms for the motor to handle? Going down hill? The motors not working as hard in that case, simply spinning too fast i don't think would cause burnout. Burnout would happen if you tried to go *up* too steep a hill and the motor couldn't handle it causing the resistance to build up without an outlet, causing it to heat.
if you over volt the motor where they spin outside of their rated rpms they start to heat up. most Chinese motors have a rpm rating
Yeah this shit works the same with Ecotric bikes (Same electronic component box), and boosted from 23 mph to almost 30 mph.
Noah who? Got the Ecotric and I just did this hack. It works fine. Have you had any issues since you’ve been riding this way?
It isn't just white wire's, it's also blue thin wire's as well!!!
i have a rebel daymak 500 w 60 v 20 ah does it work the same ??
Will this work with a bafang 8FUN 250w hub motor?
I have a vivi 500w brushless motor.
My module is enclosed in 4 screw compartment and there is no white wire at all there, there isn't even one single wire connections only dual wires connections.
Do conversion kits have a speed limiter
Yes it's usually the blue wire. So just don't connect it. The manuel that comes with it usually says which wire is the speed limiter
Plz give link of Speedometer
Will this work on an Ecotric Seagull?
Will this ruin the bike at all? Or make it not last as long
It'll definitely drain the battery quicker than usual
Hi, i want to know how can i remove connecting rod shaft from Ancheer bicycle
Will a 48 V battery work on that 36 V bike
No, you'll ruin the motor.
Yes, it’ll ruin the motor. Still work though, battery won’t be hurt.
Is it the same method to remove the speed limiter on an e-scooter?
What about zoomo bike
Sir, plz tell In Hero Lectro bicycle how to increase speed.
What about jetson bolt?
Got a Vivi sport ebike foldable 350 w hub on it and goes 20 mph max on pave road. Can it do 28 on a 350w hub motor?
