Dr Proctor did not let her down. He realized that he alone is not enough to get Tammy in the headspace she needs to be in. Not every doctor is right for every patient and he recognizes that she needs a different doctor with a different style to help her get on track. I have a friend who's been seeing the same therapist for over 20 years and she's still a mess. What all of us friends think is she needs a different therapist that will help her in the right direction because she's still dealing with the same stuff she sought out the therapist to help with 20 years ago
You can’t see a dr that’s hundreds of miles away. She needs to be weighed frequently so she can be held accountable week by week. She should be seeing a therapist at least once a week. She needs a local nutritionist. Everyone needs to be local and readily accessible.
Yes that could possibly be true but your friend has to do the work just like Tami does in order to sort herself out. The professionals can only do so much. Can’t really put it all on them to do it.

True! If anything, it was the healthier foods that were still left at the grocery store at the height of the pandemic because everyone stocked up on pastas and packaged, processed foods.
Hold up during the first month an half of covid hitting stores in some places were empty! We are a low income families of 6. We went to store with someone else on 13th store were fine went on 16 with them again an stores were half empty we didn't get paid til 18th an ebt til 21 stores were emtpy we only had 1 pack of meat for over 5 weeks all there really was was frozen junk foods for over 3 weeks Here in NC cause all the people that had savings acct & money brought up everything.we didnt have tp for over a month an half we had to kep burrowing rolls from people or store bathrooms!

I struggled with weight and the mental problems that came with it, but I blamed myself for it and doubled down on working hard to lose the weight. Tammy, on the other hand, doesn't want to do the work. She thinks the weight will magically drop overnight. I truly believe that she won't be alive by the end of 2022.

In Tammy's recent IG post (which she later deleted) she mentioned being in hospital for CO2 (carbondioxide) poisoning and her breathing generally gone worse. She's just so large that her body has finally started to give up... I hope she survives.

As someone who has experienced sibling loss, I found this incredibly heart breaking. Burying a sibling for any reason is one of the worst things that can happen.

I feel the doctor was being generous by saying 5 years. If she continues at the rate she’s going she’d be lucky to live another 2 years. She feels like everyone’s giving up on her but in reality she’s given up on herself and wants pity.
Rehab was the best thing that ever happened for her, if only she would stay for at least a year her weight and health would change dramatically. She lost 60 pounds In the 7 weeks she was in the facility.

I like how they say “how did you gain 50 pounds?” And she answers “I don’t know”. To gain 50 pounds you have to eat 175,000 calories. This isn’t a case of eating a chocolate bar one day, or feeling an urge for a bag of chips. To gain 50 pounds in 3 months you would have to eat approx 2000 calories EXTRA - EVERY DAY. !

I think it’s because they are shocked. I remember that when my stepfather’s sibling died he couldn’t cry at first and was so calm about it but later he end up crying like a waterfall. I think it’s kinda because of denying the reality but I’m not sure

I think that people forget that they are celebrities, Tammy CAN afford healthy foods. Healthy food is a bit more expensive than McDonald’s, sure, but you can pick up 450G worth of carrots at the nearest grocery store for two dollars. (I looked it up.) Tammy is a celebrity, she has her own show on TLC and a booming TH-cam channel, if she can afford a whole table’s worth of junk food for her youtube mukbangs then she can afford a salad. The money isn’t what’s stopping her.

Healthy food is actually cheaper. The key is preparing it yourself. Fresh fruits and vegetables are dirt cheap. Packs of raw Chicken are cheap. You can spend a lot less if you’re willing to do the work preparing from scratch.

She truly believes that her weight gain/ problem is someone else fault. I struggled with weight and the mental problems that came with it, but I blamed myself for it and doubled down on working hard to lose the weight. Tammy, on the other hand, doesn't want to do the work. She thinks the weight will magically drop overnight. I truly believe that she won't be alive by the end of 2022.

As someone who has experienced sibling loss, I found this incredibly heart breaking. Burying a sibling for any reason is one of the worst things that can happen.
I just had to bury my sister in June and that was the hardest thing I have ever done. Tammy needs a reality check.
Loss of a loved one is traumatic no matter what the cause but I feel it’s even worse when it’s for a preventable reason.

Rehab was the best thing that ever happened for her, if only she would stay for at least a year her weight and health would change dramatically. She lost 60 pounds In the 7 weeks she was in the facility.

To gain 50 pounds you have to eat 175,000 calories. This isn’t a case of eating a chocolate bar one day, or feeling an urge for a bag of chips. To gain 50 pounds in 3 months you would have to eat approx 2000 calories EXTRA - EVERY DAY. !

I wonder if there were no cameras and stuff if she would fare better trying to do this....the pressure must be intense. Especially after her sister managed to drop weight. You can tell being compared to her hurts her and she lashes out at her sister even tho deep down she wants to be supportive and loving....that competitive sister dynamic...I hate it. To this day I have a chip on my shoulder over being compared to my sisters and them thinking they are better than me just because they are not overweight and I always was.

Tammy has always had an air of defiance. Maybe telling her that she can't do it without help might motivate her to want to prove everyone wrong, but being singled out, she just digs in her heels. I think a long-term stint in a facility will get her at least to the point where she can feel the benefits of weight loss. She might even realize that her family will still be there for her, even when she is skinny.
Dr. Proctor gave her a wake up call! He tells her that he can’t have her as a patient - he treats patients like her everyday but he has had it with her! She used the pandemic as an excuse this time but that is bs because she never left the house anyway and you can still get healthy food during the pandemic ! She wants people to keep falling for her excuses and I am glad Dr. Proctor gave her the speech that he did !

She was already in a facility like that. That’s how she lost some of the weight but after like 8 weeks she decided to leave.
I wish there was something like that for people suffering from an addiction. The state can require you to get mental health help by putting you in a mental hospital without consent, they should be able to do the same for addictions.

I think it’s because they are shocked. I remember that when my stepfather’s sibling died he couldn’t cry at first and was so calm about it but later he end up crying like a waterfall. I think it’s kinda because of denying the reality but I’m not sure

I think that people forget that they are celebrities, Tammy CAN afford healthy foods. Healthy food is a bit more expensive than McDonald’s, sure, but you can pick up 450G worth of carrots at the nearest grocery store for two dollars. (I looked it up.) Tammy is a celebrity, she has her own show on TLC and a booming TH-cam channel, if she can afford a whole table’s worth of junk food for her youtube mukbangs then she can afford a salad. The money isn’t what’s stopping her.

Healthy food is actually cheaper. The key is preparing it yourself. Fresh fruits and vegetables are dirt cheap. Packs of raw Chicken are cheap. You can spend a lot less if you’re willing to do the work preparing from scratch.
