Thanks for all the information I’m currently at Fort Jackson and just did the virtual CSP brief . Looking to start my CSP this time next year so hopefully everything goes smooth
Thank you for this video! How was your experience with this brokerage? Did it feel like a full-time gig, or was it a more or less flexible schedule? I am relicating to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, San Diego and Carlsbad are the only options in CA at the moment :))
i know right! it’s so unfair. every service member should have this opportunity and my hope is that this gets out there for people to see and take action. no service member should be left jobless and it’s sad to see the numbers that are!
I am currently enrolled in TheCEShop getting my real estate license. It's been two years since you posted this video so I'm just wondering how well you've adapted to the career. I'm nervous because I've never had a job making money off commission and its sooooo much infronmation with real estate so it makes me nervous diving in with hardly knowing jack. Lol the course has gone through my mind and right back out so far. So I have two main questions if you dont mind. How much money in profit were you able to make your first year working with a brokerage and how would you describe its difficulty lol? Your video was amazing thank you!
Thanks so much for your comment! I'm hoping to get a video update of my journey here soon.. My best advice is to try it out and see if it's your passion! There is always a learning curve when jumping into something new. Experience is absolutely the best way to learn and you definitely won't know everything after passing your exam. Working at a brokerage on a team is probably the best and quickest way to learn! You can make an incredible income from real estate. It is a grind, but it's absolutely worth it if it's what you love and you're doing it to help others!
it is! unfortunately some commands don’t care much about the service member’s future:/ find someone higher in your chain of command that cares and bring the issue to them! it’s all about networking and who you know so if you can relay to them how beneficial it will be to your future and how important it is to you, someone will be on your side. I was talking to my Lieutenant Colonel about it and he was my guy! super supportive every step of the way. dm me on instagram and i can talk more about it
Would you have any recommendations for finding jobs or companies within a certain city? I’m 14 months out and I’m not tied down to any job or profession I mostly care about location and pay. Any suggestions?
i would say dial it down to location first if that’s the most important thing! then look at those specific job pays. i always recommend doing something you at least somewhat like! i’ve learned that pay isn’t always worth it. if you do what you love and work hard, the money will eventually come!
If trying to intern for a company not on skillbridge already, how far In advance can/should I submit some sort of request? My BC said he would approve it, but it sounds like since it’s not already in the skillbridge pipeline I need to take additional steps.
yes there are some additional documents that need to be completed. i would recommend starting the process at least a year out from your ets date. get with your education/career center to understand the requirements. I had to fill out an Individual Internship Request Form for CSP
Here's what the DOD WON'T tell you. Yes, Skillbridge exists and you're free to pursue it. The problem, however, is the mountain of paperwork you have to complete and you need approval from a bunch of people that have zero incentive to approve it. If anything, they have every incentive to just let it collect dust due to the retention crisis. If a service member didn't get a Skillbridge program, they are much more likely to stay in. I would know because I lost a Skillbridge program strictly because of military bureaucracy. It's why I'm the stereotypical bitter veteran who tells young kids to not waste their time woth the military.
Hi Jordyn I have a question i am currently in the army do The Dod Skillbridge require education to get hire after you finished your internship or training
absolutely not! you do not need any sort of education to do the DoD Skillbridge. There are a variety of apprenticeships, internships and other programs that teach and train you to do the job so that you are prepared outside of the military for a job! The purpose of the program is to get you the experience that you need and get you hired after you get out!
@@jordynjohnson4266 wow really that’s fantastic I was worried not having any degree might be an issue but also do you think the pay will be higher than the military as an private
@@omarthioune8291 it depends what job you get but the pay really has nothing to do with your rank! these opportunities are for all ranks and at least for sales or real estate, you can easily make 6 figures if you work hard! I don’t know all the opportunities out there but I know there are a ton and i’d almost guarantee most jobs pay more than private pay
@@jordynjohnson4266 thank you for responding on all my messages Jordyn lastly I’m a 92A logistics specialist do you know if they have it in the skill bridge and also any company you recommend me
@@omarthioune8291 there are more than 300 logistics jobs! go to this website below for the locations and job types! you can type “logistics” in the keywords box and click “search”
Great video!!! Do you know if you can do skill bridge and also go to school at the same time? I am halfway through my degree and would like to finish it while doing the skill bridge internship.
va.gov, recruitmilitary.com, and usajobs.com has some great career opportunities! what exactly are you looking for and what experience do you have in the military? feel free to dm me on my instagram!
there is a Work Study program I believe through the Vocational Rehabilitation and Emoloyment program. I believe there is financial aid as well in the program! check this website www.benefits.va.gov/vocrehab/
Hey Jordyn. Contract Paralegal here who actual at one point was getting his real estate license for Maryland. I'd love to hear more about your experience getting into real estate through skillbridge as I haven't found a large amount of opportunities for the areas I am interested in living once I get out (NE if I can help it). I don't have instagram, but I'd love a way to get in contact with you.
when I was applying for the program, the most you could do was 6 months. i don’t think they’ve changed the rules but it’s been almost 6 months since i’ve been out so would have to double check!
I’ve started to look into this. I have seen jobs in security field .. the description is literallly what I do in active duty.. looking forward to do skill bridge and do it with a security company and after hopefully getting a job that starting pay is 6 figures
She is not correct on a few things. Mainly you cannot get compensated for any work at any time during Skillbridge, even "holding" is against the law. Just wanted you all to know that. Literally in the Skillbridge ethics briefings.
Thanks so much for this clarification! The Skillbridge program was fairly new when I was getting out, so all the detail wasn't given to us in writing and everybody was in chaos trying to figure it out. I did have a friend who had some sort of deal with his employer because he was rocking it in the industry and had been promised financial incentive on the side after the program was finished. I don't have details on that other than what my friend had told me at the time and I haven't spoken to him since. My apologies everyone! Didn't mean to overpromise in this video. Thanks again for your feedback!
That dog just chillin in the back🤣
Thanks for sharing your experience, this information is so critical for our service-members.
Absolutely! It’s unfair some aren’t given this opportunity! My hope is that everyone learns about this and gets that same opportunity
Thanks for the information! I'm from SD so watching this has me pumped for when I skill bridge back home.
awesome! it’s a great place to be😎
3:33 that poor dog 🤣
😂 hahahaha he loves me
Ummm yea idk if anyone told you this but you make great videos and should continue this because I’m upset you don’t have more videos!!!
gosh you are the sweetest! any content you’d like to see?? i’m always looking for suggestions:)
Thank you for this information this what service members need people who have done the process, I'll be pushing this out to my Soldiers.
amazing👏🏼 let me know if you have questions!
