  • About a month ago we bought the crosswave and at first it worked great! Eventually the brush would stop rolling and seem really weak. So i investigated. This is the flaw i found in the design of the gear shaft. This is my fix. I cannot guarantee this is everyone's fix. If your crafty enough this might work for you. try at your own risk.

    Dear Sir:
I appreciate you taking the time to offer this complete step - by - step instruction, However there is no reasonable justification why I should have to spend more time on servicing this machine, VS the time I can actually use it for cleaning. I am a life time user of many Bissell products, but they really dropped the ball on this one,

Has anyone figured out the name of this part? Cannot find it on the web. Rather fix it than throwing it away.

Hell no to Bissell - what a joke!! I used mine ONE TIME cleaned it several times to make sure water ran clear. Boom. Second time no suction no spinning. What a joke. Bissell DO BETTER.
I am not criticizing your video. You obviously worked hard and I appreciate it. But no way is this justifiable by Bissell. NO WAY. GRRRRR

Thanks for the video! Gave me courage to dissasemble it and found one motor wire was off. Very easy to solder it, and is now working!.

Thanks for this fix. But shame on BIssell for selling a flawed design. I used maybe 4X and now the brush wont turn. What a piece of crap! It's going back to Costco.

I luv you sir. I usually research a product then immediately look for its defects. Saved me a ton of money...krazy glue with pencil lead would probably work too. Might be even harder than epoxy.

Great machine but really disappointing that it takes a fix like this to get the thing working. They bring said, thanks for sharing the solution!

I would suggest to drill through and press fit a metal pin.

Appreciate the video so much, one question with my one when I took it apart I found the motor cover broken in half, would it be safe to use it without the cover? I'm struggling to find a replacement cover

Yeah I would drill and put a pin or screw in it that will fix it for good.

Yes it works just have to use a good stong epoxy or jb weld. I also made another slice on the back side and filled it with epoxy also.
