    KITTY LITTER WARNING: Whatever you do, do not try to clean up any areas with kitty litter while using the wet function. You will think your floors are clean but then when it dries you will realize that you left kitty litter residue all over the floor (it will look like chalky floor). It is kind of horrifying to clean the bissell after picking up kitty litter with the wet function too. It gunked up on the bottom of the CrossWave especially around the squeegee at the bottom. Just don’t do it. :) I should have known better but I’m sure someone else will do this too.

      Every company has its 'lemons'. I have 2 Dysons now, and the pet canister vac (now 10+ years old) traveled from AK to AZ with us in our motorhome to clean up after our dog and parrot.
      With that said, we now have a chiweenie who sheds constantly and our parrot who is like a kid who is forever in the terrible twos stage, compared to human behavior. Our 1,000 sq ft home is 3 bed/2 bath and everything except the kitchen and bathrooms have wood laminate floors. My concern is this machine puts too much water on the floor to use it anywhere except on the tile. What is your opinion?

    • @QuesttoFIRE
      @QuesttoFIRE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d say if you’re concerned about the amount of water, then just stick with the hard floor option, instead of the carpet option.

My husband and I have four kids and 3 cats and your house is 3800 square ft. It was built in 1900 and mostly has the original hard floors but on the rooms we couldn't save the original floors we put in vinyl plank floors, tile, and linoleum. I swear if I can't mop when the kiddos are out of the house then I always have to go back and re mop at least a few rooms🤦‍♀️. Every room in our house has 2 doorways so they literally can circle the house. Your review has me sold they should be paying you lol. My only worry is the cord length but maybe I can talk my step dad into putting in a longer cord for me like her did for my shark cord that my puppy ate 7 yrs ago. • @QuesttoFIRE
      @QuesttoFIRE  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally don’t feel it’s necessary to pre-clean. If you think about the way the machine is designed, you only have clean solution coming out of the machine, and the dirty water gets sucked up and held in a separate container. If I have something really messy I’m cleaning up, then I will put just a touch of bleach in to help sanitize.

    THANK YOU!! You should link your video to Bissell and tell them to send you a brand new machine to review because I just got mine delivered today thanks to your willingness to broadcast. Ok so like you, I also loved my Rainbow machine, however I don't have carpet anymore. These days we have mostly wood looking linoleum and a few area rugs, two kitties and we live about 50 miles inland on the South Carolina coast so our dirt is more like sand plus I'm 48 yrs old now. The mop and the bucket routine has become more than a chore for me. It really tires me out and hurts my back. I tried swiffers and pedal spin mop systems, etc. with little satisfaction. In my mind I'm always wishing my floors could be cleaner, easier.
    Today mine arrived and I unboxed it and assembled it in less than maybe 8 minutes if that. It's lightweight and compact enough, so I thought hmmm I gotta use it right now!! I started in the kitchen/laundry/then hallway and I ended up doing my whole house!! So in less than 2 hours I have the cleanest Bissell pet pro machine as well as 1300--1400 square feet worth of flooring and area rugs in town I think (laughs). I'm so impressed. My floors feel and look so clean, everything smells fresh, my cats did a lap looking around too. I think they were even like oh wow! My husband and my son were impressed too. I think it has changed our life no joke.
    In the end, I put all my parts in my old mop bucket and carried it all out to my spicket/water hose spot on the side of the house for clean up, sprayed off all my parts, shook the water off them and brought them back in. I used some cleaning cloths from Amazon to wipe off my machine's wheels, put it all back together and put it on my included dock. It was so easy to do, and my back is not broken. I did not even break a sweat. I have never cleaned my floors with so much ease before. I've thought about getting one for about 2 years, but now I am so glad I did. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I could just tell you're just an honest carolina fur mama and you truly love your Bissell. Thank you x a million :)

We occasionally dog sit tho : ) But in less than 2 years we will have a couple of Danes again and back to lots of cleaning. I will save this info. I like Bissel.
    We use OdaBan cleaner original in the gallon jug for disinfecting. I had seen it in a couple vet clinics and was impressed with the odor control. I also use Now brand EOs: orange, lemon, tea tree, eucalyptus, and peppermint. I so miss having Danes and really look forward to that day when our house has big barks in it again. Also, do you know anything about their Symphony Pet steam vacuum? I’m trying to decide between the Crosswave and the Symphony but can’t find any decent reviews like yours where they are using real life floors rather than squirting jam or spaghetti onto a brand new studio floor. Honestly, I’ve used cordless vacuums before (the dyson was one) and I’ve just always felt like the corded were better. If/when I have to replace this one, I’ll buy corded again because I just don’t want to risk being disappointed in the auction, or risk having to re-charge before the job gets done! And sorry I can’t help you with the symphony, I’ve got no experience with it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @MissP7197 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quest to FIRE Yup I am of the same mind with the cordless drop or loss of power before you’re finished. No worries re the Symphony. I am feeling like the Crosswave will be better for actually cleaning the floors and the Symphony might be better if your floors are already cleaned beforehand and you just want to sanitise them. Probably end up picking up the Crosswave and a dedicated steam mop. Just been trying to find an all in one but it seems my prayers haven’t been answered yet. Hopefully they finally design a floor robot that vacuums and washes well, or I’d wait in line for a mopping vacuum like this that lets you steam once you’ve cleaned. Maybe Bissell need an email 😉 Thank you for a really useful video. I wish all reviews were this relevant!!

    So I bought the Crosswave Pet Pro yesterday. The only thing I didn’t fully think through was that you have to leave the parts out to dry after each use (which you did mention but I guess it didn’t fully click for me) and now I have to find a space to lay them out to dry. I don’t really have that kind of space and it’s a lot of unpleasant clutter too. I was hoping to just rinse the parts and put them back in but I could see how that would cause problems. Hmm.. I hope this part of the process won’t dissuade me from using it often.
