Convincing the Khans to leave is the happiest ending. No other faction gets such a great ending. Isn't it amazing? Given their past and everything they've been through, they're the only faction who stops and thinks, "Walk away? Wait...we can do that?". They're the only ones who can see they don't have to continue with the way they've done things simply because that's how they've always done it. The Khans and the NCR don't have to forgive each other, but the Khans don't need revenge. They can change and find real glory. Ulysses talked constantly of history and the lessons taught. The Great Khans of all people show us probably the most important lesson of Fallout: New Vegas.
The Khans are probably the only faction in the game that can get anything close to an unambiguously happy ending, if you somehow convince them to leave and join neither the NCR nor the Legion. I figure, why not. The NCR doesn't need their help; they just need them NOT to help the Legion. (Really unless I was doing a Legion playthrough, I would make this same choice every time. They're not that helpful in the final battle anyway and may as well let them ride off into the sunset, better off than any other faction in the game).
Agree Great Khan have a better future better than NCR and Ceaser Legion don't get me wrong both of them have no future and both of them have no ideologies, no principles, no ideals not even the NCR or Ceaser Legion has loyalty is only to conquer the Mojave bearing each throats day after night even the NCR has no future its was corrupted from within nor does Ceaser Legion
Except the Khans got chances to start over again and again and they didn't,they refused House's offer for example, they also got help from the Followers who taught them medicine,Guess what they did after they learned everything? Decided to start a drug "empire" that resulted in the Fiends and all their atrocities EDIT:They got wiped out twice (On F1 and F2 for being raiders that killed innocent people, raped and killed women and made slaves as well as sold drugs) and didn't change their ways, they almost got wiped out a third time by the NCR and they didn't change their ways,do you really think their "mighty empire" means a good thing? It would basically be a second Legion, sure it says they got help from the Followers, but the Followers are somewhat naive and always give new chances (Plus Ceaser came from the Followers),who's to say the Khans just didn't take their help until got strong again and simply waved the Followers off and returned to their old ways that in fact aren't even old since they never stopprd it,not even after Bitter Springs?
The Khans are nothing more but raiders ever since they first appeared, they just try to hide that by saying they are a "tribe" and want to play the victims after something they do to anyone they attack happens to themselves,it also happened on a conflict *they* started. Sure in the end Bitter Springs wasn't something right to happen, but it's not like the Khans are just "a tribe wanting to survive in the terrible wasteland and turned to their bad ways because people kept attacking them without provocation"
I agree with the two previous replies. Allowing the Khans to leave gives them free reign to go back to raiding, and the ending itself says 'They carved a mighty empire out of the Northwest'. Now, that might just mean they became a particularly strong tribe but did not necessarily go back to raiding, and that'd be a decent argument if they weren't modelling their 'mighty empire' on the Mongols. They've explicitly stated that the only reason they aren't raiding when we find them is because they'll get massacred again. And instead they manufacture chems and supply the Fiends who kill innocents as well as NCR. That ending may be the best for the Khans, but taking over the parks and raiding the Commonwealth is the best ending for Nuka World. Doesn't make it right. Best Khan ending for the Mojave is to either have them fight with the NCR and then be pushed out afterwards or have them suicide at the dam. They may have history and tribal culture, but they're still just raiders and should be dealt with as such. They have no interest in changing as they've had chance after chance to change and haven't.
The Khans usually go North, some of the endings for Honest Hearts mention them going North, and a few people who you talk to say the only reason NCR isn’t in similar frontiers already is because they are caught up in Vegas and if they go North a few other factions will follow so I think a game around Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming seems like a reasonable place for the story to continue.

Would be extremely interesting to see a fallout game set entirely in a national park, and Yellowstone has the space for that, spanning across three states, with Montana and Wyoming having the biggest portions of Yellowstone National Park and Idaho having the smallest portion. From what I understand, Oxhorn said the song was custom made by a person he's worked with before so there might not be a 'full' version other than what we are hearing.
Crossposted from the start of the NV series, since it's actually going to be seen here. It's just struck me that Johnson Nash knows what the Divide does to a person. It skins them... Alive. Kind of prophetic for him to wish that upon Ulysses if Nash has no idea what lives in the Divide nor Ulysses's attachment to He says "First deadbeat we hired cancelled. Hope a storm from the Divide skins him alive. Well, that's where you came in." He is of course referring to the Courier taking the platinum chip job, but it's a chilling choice of words in hindsight. Worth noting he says "From" the Divide, possibly meaning the storms are breaking out of the Divide, which is also a terrible implication.
It's a little thing, but I appreciate how Oxhorn's voice and the gameplay audio levels are set evenly. So many vids have the youtuber volume set so high you can't hear the game characters without blowing out your eardrums when the yt yells.

My game has this weird glitch where even when I previously convinced the great khans to leave, now much later in my game when I started doing the ncr quests It doesn't recognize that they are already no longer with the legion, and so the only thing I could do to advance the quest is to kill papa khan
I love it's super easy to tell that the intro was made in game and it's so spectacular. That and the song choice is fantastic. All I'm saying is Oxhorn you're a beast my friend
Adding all your stuff to different play lists for a full lore of Fallout series. Hope to be able to DL it all after and burn to disk for posterity. You do such an excellent job narrating and really have the voice for it. Great job Ox!
The Great Kahns are probably inspired in Fallout from the Mongols motorcycle gang that is from California which are inspired by the Mongol Empire. I mean they almost look like they are wearing biker jackets but they lack the motorcycles.

I convinced the Great Khans to leave the Mojave AWHILE ago and they still haven't left. The Great Khans are the ex-brother-in-law-turned-roommate of the Mojave.
You should play atleast one of them. I recommend to start with Fallout New Vegas if you're very interested with its modernized gameplay and the game is also always considered as the best game in the series. Fallout 1 & 2 are both heavily focused on the survival aspects and role-playing along with the dark toned stories.
There are actually a few speech checks you could do with Jack and Diane to convince them to oppose the alliance. Jack, I believe, needs only 25 speech.
I usually go for the NCR alliance in my playthroughs. The Khans may get screwed over, but at least they still exist as a tribe. I just can’t see letting them go independent as being anything but bad news for everyone else. I mean, they aren’t a traditional raiding gang, but they still do a lot of raiding. Sgt. Bitter Root talks about how at least some of them take shots at civilians for fun, and Papa Khan proudly talks about how they pushed around the people of the Mojave before the big three factions moved into the area. Then there’s two of the nicer Khans knowingly supplying the Fiends. I said this on another video, but I’ll say it again. I believe that if you let them get out of reach of anyone able to keep them in check, then it’s only a matter of time before they become a scourge on the wasteland. They had three opportunities to change (and had help from the Followers the third time, too), but they never did.
You da man, Ox. Love your videos and almost always catch myself rewatching each video at least two or three times. Especially your DLC series. Serieses? Series.
0:40 feels like one of those existential veitnam movies, like "apocolyse now" can you do an intro like that when you get deep into the story line is? War is hell.
I think the best outcome of the mojave if the NCR wins is all the veteran soldiers who would soon come home to help change the republics future. Think about the man power of a political faction that can really bring change to the NCR.
Hey Oxhorn, I'd like to thank you for uploading more New Vegas videos. As a college student I don't have that much time to play it. It is ideal during my brakes. Keep up the good work!

20:36 Papa: Great Khans! Drive Caesar's dog out of our camp! If he's too slow to flee, kill him! Shortly after... Karl: *Huh?* Man it was as if he didn't hear what Papa Khan just said lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The fact that the Khans have the option to become something greater and not be either killed off or to be reduced to nothing which more or less is the same as killing them off, makes me so happy. The Great Khans are my favorite raider sub faction in the Fallout series. Something about their proud warrior culture with ideals of honor and glory strikes me as appealing and while the Brotherhood and the Followers are my favorite overall factions in the series as a whole I see so much potential in the good ending for the Khans, whether that ending ends up makes them more evil or good doesn't really matter to me. I would just love to see them thrive.
I find it funny faction leader unique clothes counts as 'faction armor'. I think you mentioned before, it's ridiculous to hide among the legion wearing clothes Caesar wears, especially since the only way to get them is to kill him.
I always thought it rather odd that the Legion wouldn't used ranged weapons - but the real Roman Legions used everything - spears, pila, even long-range standoff weapons like ballistae and catapults. You'd think Caesar would grasp onto that particular piece of history so his men had a fighting chance.
Yeah, he thinks that Rome didn't allow much technology unless they had to, but except the Roman Empire made their own weapons, their own shields, uniforms, even respected rights for women and other citizens to an extent, so he still fails at replicating the Roman Empire.
@@michaelaburns734 thats the option i go with, the Khans arent like the Fiends, Jackals or Vipers, they act like Mongolian Warriors or even Vikings to an extent, they are a warrior tribe but that doesnt mean that they attack everyone. there were some really evil Khans, but they died at Bitter Springs, what remains of them seem like a proud but reasonable lot, easily convinced to do good/right things. 1) you can convince Jessup to let the hostages go in Boulder City Shutdown. 2) you can convince/help Jack and Diane to produce medical supplies that can be sold like their Chems. 3) you can convince them to leave and let their anger towards the NCR go, including the Khan that is killing ppl in Bitter Springs vengefully. so i see them as worth saving, rather than outright destroying them.
@@UltimateGamerCC About two years late but her is my take. As far as I understand the Khans live by "might makes right". So they take what someone else can´t defend. Steel from people. Maybe even murder people for it. They are raiders. Nothing more and nothing less. But once someone else proves stronger than them they cry and bitch about it and play the victim. Of course Bitter Springs is a no no but it´s not like they did not provoke the NCR. The NCR did not just woddle towards Bs and killed a bunch of people. "You must expect consequences if you punch a warrior." In addition to that Bitter Root tells you the Khans aren´t exactly great peope. So is genocide ok? No. It is not. But the way the Khans live prohibits co existance. And that is the problem. They will always behave like raiders. And those get shot. That is how it is. What else is there? Wandering to Wyoming. Good thing. Khans gone. NCR chill. Basically everybody wins. BUT Remember the Khans modeled their "tribe" after the mongolian khans? These historicaly good people? And even if they didn´t if I remember correctly you bring Papa Khan books about the mongols. He then tells you he can follow this symbol basically. This ending specifically mentions that they grow. Witch is technically good. Only reviving the old mongolian empire doesn´t strike me as a good idea. the way they behave now will only get worse when they get more power. They will probably attack the NCR again if powerful enough ( Might makes right and likely revenge ). They will become a second Legion. It is as Ulysses says. "Same methods different symbols). Anyway that´s it from me.
Honestly, I think that the NCR could honestly be the best for the wasteland, sure they’re corrupt and bureaucratic but the heart of the people is in the right place. They are progress to restoring or perhaps improving upon the wreckage of pre war U.S.A and despite all their blemishes and faults they are still trying to help the common people with places like bitter springs where refugees of the wasteland can heal.
Jesus, how many characters did “Karl” voice? If he didn’t voice a dozen other characters in the game, his voice bears an uncanny resemblance to a bunch of other voice actors in the game.
Yeah NCR aren't Conquers like the Legion and House who moves in with force then rule on high (arguably Yes-man too but those ending are written more like "hey rule and protect yourself, i'm just kicking NCR and the Legion out and taking the strip"). NCR genuinely wants to help the world if not a bit arrogant about it, their goals is to make Vegas their sixth state. hell they are the only ending where people can say No, like in Novac or freeside(-ish, i mean NCR ending say they join but in the good King ending they stay independent)
@Amber Hoke Not really, People can and do say no to NCR and the most NCR does is nag them. Novac has no ending where it's join NCR, Primm only join in the annex ending (which IS the players choice as their representative), and Freeside only gets occupied in the ending where the kings are literally attacking NCR civilians (staying independent otherwise). Even Crocker's terminal talks about getting people "more residents inclined to vote for annexation" with their farming projects.

On one of my playthroughs, Karl and a couple of legionaries ambushed me on the outskirts of Red Rock Canyon. IIRC it was after I had convinced the other Kahns to break the alliance but before talking to Papa Khan again. You might have avoided that outcome by fast traveling and ending up right by the longhouse.
"The NCR is progress." This simple quote sums up why I join the NCR without question. In a wasteland like new vegas progress is what is needed most. such as a better form of currency like NCR bills, or, as the NCR have shown, a proper military.

Whoever disliked this and other videos, doesn't realize how much time you put into your videos for entertainment and educational purposes. I personally love your videos and look forward to your future videos.
Ripply or they might just disagree with some of his opinions on a topic.
Don’t get me wrong I like his stuff and all but I’m just saying
You saved me yet again, I’ve been refreshing my feed for ages to watch a good video and I’m glad it was yours

The intros are incredible, Ox! These videos are so well done and make me want to go back through and play the game again.
Oxhorn, great choice using this instamental version of "California Dreaming"!
It's so pretty! I wanna know where I can find a fuller version of it.
From what I understand, Oxhorn said the song was custom made by a person he's worked with before so there might not be a 'full' version other than what we are hearing.
@@wowplayer160, either way I love it! The slow pacing and solemn tempo are a perfect intro for the NCR.
I'm really digging California Dreaming for this series. I wish I could hear the whole thing done up the way you did it.
Crossposted from the start of the NV series, since it's actually going to be seen here.
It's just struck me that Johnson Nash knows what the Divide does to a person. It skins them... Alive.
Kind of prophetic for him to wish that upon Ulysses if Nash has no idea what lives in the Divide nor Ulysses's attachment to
He says "First deadbeat we hired cancelled. Hope a storm from the Divide skins him alive. Well, that's where you came in."
He is of course referring to the Courier taking the platinum chip job, but it's a chilling choice of words in hindsight.
Worth noting he says "From" the Divide, possibly meaning the storms are breaking out of the Divide, which is also a terrible implication.
2 years later, but damn I never realized that
It's a little thing, but I appreciate how Oxhorn's voice and the gameplay audio levels are set evenly. So many vids have the youtuber volume set so high you can't hear the game characters without blowing out your eardrums when the yt yells.
Man I love the intro to this series!.The music reminds me of when I was kid growing up in the 1960s southern calif...Got me to start digging out some of my old records .As always thanks for the great videos, they make my day.
Can’t wait for Yes Man haha So many ridiculous routes to take with that guy
I just love it how they shoot Karl to smithereens, he doesn't have a chance standing up haha
The intro music sounds like California Dreamin' by the Mamas and the Papas
Because it is
NCR or Independent Vegas are probs the best endings
FOR CAESAR AND HIS LEGION
Blaydon it does make sense cause house is independent but like with a leader and a bit more order (though make sure to be diplomatic with others)
Independent is the worst tbh. Even the harsh order of the Legion is preferable to the anarchy of the Independent ending
The only good one are NCR and House. Independent is kinda neuteal but Legion ? And Legion with Lanius in command ? GET FUCKED.
Independent Vegas with 10 int and 100 science with the owb technology, and mr. Houses life support tech means we can be the new mr house with us picking up where he left off.
Oxhorn your videos have become all Radio plays for me to listen to at work.
And I love it, thanks man
A million subs are not enough for your channel, Oxhorn! I've been a quiet subscriber but in my honest but humble opinion, you're the only gaming channel that puts heart into the fandom. Your gaming/lore videos are the only ones I always go back to again and again because of their unparalleled quality. It may not be much but I feel like I can't complete my day without watching your videos. Without allotting at least an hour of my free time outside of a 12 hour shift to watch your content. Thank you for offering a refuge from the adult world. Your channel and your content are proven stress relievers. ❤ Please continue what you're doing!
I’ve played new Vegas and fallout 3 5 times each and ox still manages to show me things I never knew about haha good work man
Either Jack is stoned to all hell, or he is the prototype for the Atom Cats.
lol of course Jack is high, he probably tests the batches he cooks himself.
I convinced the Great Khans to leave the Mojave AWHILE ago and they still haven't left. The Great Khans are the ex-brother-in-law-turned-roommate of the Mojave.
Never played a fallout game. But I love this guy's commentators style. I've watched about fifteen video's. Guys great
You should play atleast one of them. I recommend to start with Fallout New Vegas if you're very interested with its modernized gameplay and the game is also always considered as the best game in the series. Fallout 1 & 2 are both heavily focused on the survival aspects and role-playing along with the dark toned stories.
I like how the will hem scream in the beginning
I've been watching these for years and only just now realized, upon revisiting NV lore, that the NCR theme is California Dreamin'
What about prouder gangers

The comrade has praised us with another great Video !
Spencer what fraction doesn’t attack the innocent? No one is completely out of the wrong.
You can still convince the Khans to leave with the Independent ending
@@prossnip42 Pretty much only a Legion playthrough makes that unavailable as an option.
@@troodon1096 You can do the same thing in a Legion playthrough. Ceasar will find out and get pissed, but there's no consequence to doing it.
When you realise the theme song is an orchestral version of California Dreamin'.
Another great day with Oxhorn
You da man, Ox. Love your videos and almost always catch myself rewatching each video at least two or three times. Especially your DLC series. Serieses? Series.
Heed my words of wisdom: Go to Oxhorn for Fallout lore, go to Mitten Squad for gameplay and humor
0:40 feels like one of those existential veitnam movies, like "apocolyse now" can you do an intro like that when you get deep into the story line is?
War is hell.
When I do this quest I always try to convive the 4 advisors and then show Papa Khan Karl's journal so they all have reasons to break the alliance
I think the best outcome of the mojave if the NCR wins is all the veteran soldiers who would soon come home to help change the republics future. Think about the man power of a political faction that can really bring change to the NCR.
Love the California dreaming intro not many younglings goin to know that song definitely a classic
Song sounds good but anything to do with that shithole commifornia makes it an instant turn off.
Glad more people noticed. Love that snare drum too
Is that California dreaming in the beginning? Either way I like it keep up the great work and don’t forget to have fun
Hey Oxhorn,
I'd like to thank you for uploading more New Vegas videos. As a college student I don't have that much time to play it. It is ideal during my brakes.
Keep up the good work!
I believe Moore is trying to get you killed on these missions. She sees the player as one of the "loose ends". She sends you on suicide missions.
Crazy to think that I have been playing this game for years, have gone all the way through the main campaign countless times and never once realise that I could ally the Great Khans with the NCR.
Thank you for making these videos they highlight stories i never knew about kinda crazy this game has years worth of content and also can you do the lore of broke steel from fallout 3
I like the use of California Dreaming as the theme for the NCR.
Man I’m serious every time you make a new intro they get better and better. Sometimes I enjoy going back and watching old videos to see how your style has changed over the few years. I watch a efficiencies build video and it was funny you seemed so uncomfortable. Now your the most professional fallout 4 channel out there
Ox still loving the content, i go to sleep every night to your videos! I put it on, your voice is soft so it helps me sleep, and while i sleep i get to learn more lore about the game. Thank you!
every time i hear the NCR oping theme i am singing calafrina dreaming in my head

Papa: Great Khans! Drive Caesar's dog out of our camp! If he's too slow to flee, kill him!
Shortly after...
Karl: *Huh?*
Man it was as if he didn't hear what Papa Khan just said lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
and again a really awesome video of you oxy doxy
as always
The fact that the Khans have the option to become something greater and not be either killed off or to be reduced to nothing which more or less is the same as killing them off, makes me so happy. The Great Khans are my favorite raider sub faction in the Fallout series. Something about their proud warrior culture with ideals of honor and glory strikes me as appealing and while the Brotherhood and the Followers are my favorite overall factions in the series as a whole I see so much potential in the good ending for the Khans, whether that ending ends up makes them more evil or good doesn't really matter to me. I would just love to see them thrive.
Things you can say about fallout but nothing else: genocide is always an option
I really enjoy the California Dreaming intro for this
It's hilarious how much lead the Kahns put in Karl in all three of those different executions.
Oxhorn, which fate do you believe the great khans deserve?
Christian Weibrecht i think destruction is the best option cuz they are nothing but raiders that refuse to change for the better
@@UnDeadBobus goddamned mongorians always breaking down my shitty wall
Let the Khans migrate to Wyoming nobody but the Legion agent dies.
BUT
Remember the Khans modeled their "tribe" after the mongolian khans? These historicaly good people? And even if they didn´t if I remember correctly you bring Papa Khan books about the mongols. He then tells you he can follow this symbol basically. This ending specifically mentions that they grow. Witch is technically good. Only reviving the old mongolian empire doesn´t strike me as a good idea. the way they behave now will only get worse when they get more power. They will probably attack the NCR again if powerful enough ( Might makes right and likely revenge ). They will become a second Legion. It is as Ulysses says. "Same methods different symbols).
Anyway that´s it from me.
oxhorn, please never stop making videos
Jesus christ. That intro was a remix of California dreaming. I love that song
On a winters day, I’d be safe and warm, if I was in LA, California dreamin, on such a winter’s dayyyyy.... dude, love the intro.
Long live the NCR.
I hate that when I was doing mr house mission i realized that the NCR and Cesaer legion mission were gone
its 12:27 here in australia and ive been waiting for a new vid before i go to sleep gosh only i stay up late for oxhorns vids
But but that means I can't crucify degenerates D': So unfair
1MILLION SUBS it was bound to happen congrats man
I've always wondered what a Great Khan empire would look like.
When you made that NCR intro I liked and subscribed that very moment
Ive only been subbed to oxhorn for about a year now but god damnit if he hasn't gotten me into fallout more so than i ever have been before. I freaking love this guy! Thanks to him I've actually been paying attention to the stories in these games. Hey oxhorn will you ever do fallout tactics?

That final shotgun shot against Karl. Smoked
I have no doubt Ezekiel was one of the Followers that joined the Great Khan migration. I hope we get to see the nation they built together someday.
For some reason colonel Moore is the only npc where I have to stop myself from killing. She makes me so mad.
