Honestly i hate the ghoul "zombification" of the Bethesda fallouts. Ghouls are NOT supposed to be just regular "radiation zombies", as shown by Harold. Harold is the "key" to solving this mystery. Honestly this is the genius of Fallout 1's unreliable narrator. The entire fact that the shady sands doctor throws down the fact that the animals could have "mutated into beasts due to radiation" as illogical is because he doesn't have any knowledge about *FEV*. Again - Necropolis was near a huge detonation point, a point that ripped West Tek facilities right open and released an earlier F.E.V version in the air to later come down as "black rain". THIS is the reason why most people turn to ghouls. THIS is the reason why the Master has trouble turning wasteland humans into intelligent super mutants. No, it's not radiation. Otherwise the vault dweller would have been ineligable after going to the ruins of west tek, basically receiving what amounts to lethat doses of radiation.
I had no idea they took so much from van buren. Almost like New Vegas was in preproduction for many years, long before they inked the deal with BGS. We are really lucky to have gotten it.
The cat vault is in reference to the idea that up until Fo4 there were no cats, and some people thinking there must have been a cat vault in the Commonwealth
@@jorges1748it was only referenced, since it was eaten during the owner's childhood. There are references to them in other games too. I think they just weren't put into the og game to cut down on the program's workload and avoid confusion with rats. As an aside, there WOULD be a period after something like this where certain domestic animals would suddenly become very rare in certain areas since (as stated in the FO2 story) former pets would be *extremely* easy prey for starving survivors. Particularly those who don't know how to hunt or how to deal with large domestic animals

11:48 there’s several conditions that lead to a ghoul going feral; extreme/constant rad exposure or a lack of a driving goal. Ferals are typically found in areas with above average radiation levels typically in areas heavily irradiated and a constant is that their brains have decayed to the point where they lose all rational. It could be that while radiation heals them it rots their brains. Only active motivation can delay or reverse it.
There also the mutation angle too where some people might have the genetics that allows them to stay sane kinda like how mutants fulk horrigan etc don’t all go animalistic
@@redwiltshire1816 my theory is that the genetic component only impacts if someone can become a ghoul and it’s environmental and psychological factors that effect if they got feral
@@Phoenixoflife56 but genetically that’s not how it would work, it would effect the ability to become one how long you become one and how powerful you are we also see this with other ghouls some being much smarter and others being stronger also the new fallout 76 expansion shows that having certain genetics can make you super human and even disabilities can make you more powerful, genetics play quit a large role in what type of ghoul you are even someone with a goal and good environment can still turn feral on a dime and using my mutant example they also have different traits based on the genetic makeup of said person before the mutation. And another example in the show even tho cooper has lost his way he still manages to stay sane but with the help of rad-x
It’s stated multiple times that radiation both heals them but also makes them crazy/feral. Just wanted to add. I think they talk about this in Underworld in F3.
I don’t know where I got this from but my idea has always been that feral ghouls are created through years of constant psychological abuse to a ghouls. Ghouls we see welcomed into their societies and that interact with people (even if it’s negatively) stay mentally sound because we as humans have a need to socialize. Whereas ghouls that have been kicked out of society and have been doomed to travel the wastes on their own will eventually turn feral due to lack of socialization and the few times they do meet someone in the wastes it’s most likely a raider or someone weary of ghouls.

I would combine the "multiple Lanii" theory with the "Lanius is just a poster boy" theory. Lanius seems to be a skillfull duelist, as seen in the endgame of New Vegas, but he just stands in the camp, not leading from the front or anything like what would his legends hint to. He's the guy that is there to strike fear in the Legion's enemies, encourage bravery in it's allies, and be the shining symbol of the Legion. So, what to do when you're expanding in multiple directions? Make multiple Lanii (and possibly other important people), because I highly doubt anyone but the highest ranking even know how a telephone or radio works, and thus everyone else has to rely on gossip, messages transmitted from legionare to legionare by speach, and sometimes, mail. Every major unit in your empire now thinks it's led by the best man ever to wander the East. Also, every aforementioned unit can decide which Lanius they want - the guy who's good at dueling, the one who is indeed a great strategist, or anything that will come in handy.
Biggest problem with that would be if one of them ever lost or died. Sure you could deny it, but every troop that survived the battle would know, and we see that gossip of the burned man spreads like wildfire, pun intended. I could see Lanius in the endgame just being a game design choice, the final boss rather than an opponent in the first wave of mercenaries. That and he can be on the front line against the tribes, but facing the NCR like that would be a good way to get his head blown off. Caesar could even have ordered him to stay put. Matter of interpretation, I think the artificial symbol is as valid an interpretation as any other, personally I believe in a mixture of all the ideas.
the problem with this theory is that the reason caesar is holding off from attacking hoover dam at the start of the game is because he is waiting for lanius to arrive from another campaign. also, a successful general won't typically join the front line. he's much more useful on that hilltop vantage point we meet him, observing the battle and making strategic decisions
I like to think that the sole survivor is a synth. Based on how inhuman Shaun acts when you talk atop the MIT building. He says “it’s the first time he’s been topside” but he’s lied to much to you before this. I’d like to think over the course of the last 80 years Shaun has been testing the advancements of new synths by trying to replicate his father and/or mother, replaying the events of day zero and seeing how they react to “waking up” in the vault with their significant other dead and their son missing. I would like to imagine the reason why Shaun is so cold to the player character is because he’s been having these conversations for years and he only starts to slowly realize that as he’s dying, you are the outlier
I mean that would be the closest thing to writing fallout 4 has, and it's genuinely interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if it was entirely accidental tho
If I had to say what the most dangerous threat is to the common Wastelanders, it would be Fo76 Scorch Plague. Man, I used to watch this guys zombies videos way back when. I’ve been a die hard Fallout fan since 2010 so it’s nice to see him making this content now.
it improved greatly and is a legit fun fallout experience now. though still way too tilted towards 'take most of these mutation serums and spend five luck points on these two cards and play as a bloody build tank' for unlocking gobs of defense-n-DPS for easily dispatching enemies that are otherwise somewhat of a pain in the ass. /now i'm lev 762 and the grind hasn't felt very goal-oriented ever since maxing the legendary cards at lev 500 //then again such is the way of the MMORPG so in theory i knew what i was getting into
Im waiting for my next day off to give this a watch, love the fallout content you make Rabb1t. -Finally, the weekend, Pizza rolls, playing New Vegas, while Rabb1t talks New Vegas to me

I loved the distinction that iguana on a stick is just an iguana pierced on a skewer and roasted. It always, even without knowing the lore of Bob and even in the game New Vegas, makes you think if it's really iguana The iguana bits I mean
I love how youve added the Cold War/WW2 era Guns to your FO4 Game! Originally I wouldn’t touch Mods that add those guns as I felt they didn’t necessarily fit in the Art style, but after seeing them in the Fallout TV Show I started making a list of all the Guns seen and added them to my game! They look so cool and despite being old, they were actually really easy to use and maintain. So it makes sense they are some of the most common guns in some region.
Don't forget: In Point Lookout, you can find a murder room with the clown mask, that may be from either the Slasher themselves, or an imitator. There is also Kenny, also in Point Lookout, who has a mask. Also, who says it has to be a child? It may just be a dwarf who got tired of people making fun of their height.
A quick suggestion for the "Sole-Survivor is a Synth" theory, in the far-harbor DLC, DiMA actually goes so far as to suggest to the Survivor that he could very well be a synth, but seeing as to how there's no way to determine anything without killing the Survivor, again, we don't get a definite conclusion. It is definitely worth mentioning though.
Hell yeah, Justin! It's been years since I've watched you last (mostly because I lost my yt account lol). Good video overall- I appreciate the synonomous plug- he's a great channel too! Wishing you well, big dood! ❤❤❤
Could you post a mod list used for the gameplay in the background? Specifically for New Vegas? Love the video by the way. A good watch and full of things I had no clue even existed. Hope to see more fun content like this from you!
Fallout is the only game that has robots, eldritch horror, sci fi themes, apocalyptic theme and what else i dont know. For me, Fallout 3 was peak fallout in matters of making you feel hopeless.
9:49 I like to think the Fallout universe is either the previous or next Kalpa in the cycle/another god-head dream 13:19 I feel it’s less of a one specific divergence point and more of this world is an alternate of our reality. Like, the ancient alien crown Lorenzo wears obviously wouldn’t be a thing in our world so
I like that fallout can have everything from supernatural beings and God's to aliens kidnapping you, also fun fact the original concept of fallout was a time traveling scientist who fights dinosaurs and aliens
Some of these mods you got are pretty tight (personally a big fan of the first-person animation ones.) any chance for a modlist put anywhere? Lowkey wanting to run through these games again and would enjoy some good picks
The story flaw is that FEV was not further tweaked to remove the negative effects. You can make a deathclaw talk ? Improve his intelligence? Why did it nerf humans into stupid giants? There was no way to purify it? Wasteland sucks for human body and if you applied all the negative shit to a human body , FEV seemed like a good direction to start fighting mortality and the radiation. The lore implies that they live 100+ years, so any mindful leader would push all the resources into fixing it, in a matter of decades the wasteland could be thriving and things would get back to normal.
God I miss the livestreames.. those were some fun times. I watched everyone of them live except for a few, from 2019 Kaloon zombies map in bo1 to the last one 6 Months ago, it was one of the most fun community's I've been apart of. You've gave me so many good streams rabbit, thank you.
1. My personal theory for ghouls is that there are a few different ways one can become a ghoul: radiation + genetic factor and/or a strain of fev (possibly an early iteration while they were figuring out how to make the right things grow and mutate for super mutants). As for feralization, i believe theres a mental factor that causes it, specifically damage to the brain caused by the ghoulification process (or typical brain damage) 2. I hope they bring back talking deathclaws
Glory not dropping a Synth Component is most likely an oversight, Glory is just weirdly unfinished in general, in the Minutemen ending, even if you dont attack the Railroad, hence keeping Glory alive, she's still treated as dead by the player and Desdemona. Also, (from what ive seen) she goes dead silent outside of a few odd voicelines from quests like Emergent Behavior. Also, the "no biosigns detected" line is for the two bots you see walking in when you enter the room lol

I think the IV in TES-IV does not refer to 2004, but instead to Oblivion being the fourth Elder Scrolls game
Ty. It really bugged me when he got that wrong
@@ashkechum101Especially when the number is always written in Roman numerals
I cringed when he said that. So stupid
Especially considering it was A) the most recent release before F3 and B) the only TES game to release in 2004 was a mobile game not made by BGS
1:06:42 dang this makes me feel at some point you would’ve told Veronica you found her lost lover but was cut during dlc development.
This is one of the highest quality Fallout iceberg/easter egg videos ive ever watched. Gotta thank you for doing my favourite game justice.
@@SleezyRider883 so you're a complete dick in one comment, and like a perfectly mature person in another?

Massive W for being a REAL FRIEND.
Sometimes patrolling some random iceberg makes you wish for a nuclear apocalypse
5:20 you got it backwards, iguana on a stick is an actual iguana, iguana BITS are what is human.
I think that's only in games where "iguana on a stick" is represented by a whole iguana on a stick, like a tiny green Transylvanian, like the isometric games.
If it's a meat chunk kabob, like in 4, you're just eating "iguana chunks" on a stick.
Also, I've never understood the reasoning. Why not just add pork to the game and use people meat as "long pig"?

American media is made for an *American* audience.
I'm sick of ALL of our media being made for and requiring approval from people who do not live here or share our culture.
No other county's media industry gives a flying fxxk about what American audiences want, we need to do the same
I always felt Mark went back for the others and managed to get Harold out but succumbed to his wounds when he went back looking for Grey.

Man, I used to watch this guys zombies videos way back when. I’ve been a die hard Fallout fan since 2010 so it’s nice to see him making this content now.
It is honestly refreshing to see 76 included on these and not get shit on every time it comes up
it improved greatly and is a legit fun fallout experience now. though still way too tilted towards 'take most of these mutation serums and spend five luck points on these two cards and play as a bloody build tank' for unlocking gobs of defense-n-DPS for easily dispatching enemies that are otherwise somewhat of a pain in the ass.
/now i'm lev 762 and the grind hasn't felt very goal-oriented ever since maxing the legendary cards at lev 500
//then again such is the way of the MMORPG so in theory i knew what i was getting into
76 shit on itself and has been smearing it around calling it a fix every since.
to be fair it deserved it. on release it was a big steaming pile of radioactive shit
That steam notif at 55:33 had me double checking my steam man
God bless you for protecting the goat lex, standing on business knowing he was innocent

Marzden was also in Skyrim. He seems like a popular VA pick for Bethesda games. He also voiced Max in the goofy movie and it's sequel
Im waiting for my next day off to give this a watch, love the fallout content you make Rabb1t.

Your time is valueable so i'll keep it short and sweet. Great to see you post more, great video, this got me into fallout (im currently on F3). Also, thank you for supporting Lex. Seeing both sides now, I can see your true colors and theyre beautiful man. Bald and beautiful, thanks Rabbit.
I loved the distinction that iguana on a stick is just an iguana pierced on a skewer and roasted. It always, even without knowing the lore of Bob and even in the game New Vegas, makes you think if it's really iguana
The iguana bits I mean
Watched 5 mins without even realising who it was. Hello KrazyRabb1t lmao wouldnt expect this from u but loving it

Now that I know about Hairy death claws, I want a fallout game that takes place in the Ozarks and has hairy death claws
I'm so happy that the only other video game franchise you talk about is still one that I'm a fan of
I love how youve added the Cold War/WW2 era Guns to your FO4 Game!
"I'm going to become hokage! 8:21! "
Cosmic horror is awesome in Fallout. I love the references
Amazing work dude

Hell yeah, Justin! It's been years since I've watched you last (mostly because I lost my yt account lol). Good video overall- I appreciate the synonomous plug- he's a great channel too! Wishing you well, big dood! ❤❤❤
Thanks for switching content to Fallout I love this 😊❤️
Could you post a mod list used for the gameplay in the background? Specifically for New Vegas?
Love the video by the way. A good watch and full of things I had no clue even existed. Hope to see more fun content like this from you!
Fallout is the only game that has robots, eldritch horror, sci fi themes, apocalyptic theme and what else i dont know. For me, Fallout 3 was peak fallout in matters of making you feel hopeless.
Was watching the video and then saw I was subscribed lmao! Miss the good old days 😢
Justice for lex
I love the idea of measuring a nuclear flash with your thumb and then having your retinas sear like tuna steaks.
9:49 I like to think the Fallout universe is either the previous or next Kalpa in the cycle/another god-head dream
13:19 I feel it’s less of a one specific divergence point and more of this world is an alternate of our reality. Like, the ancient alien crown Lorenzo wears obviously wouldn’t be a thing in our world so
dude where tf did you get the mods for New Vegas and Fallout 4? your game looks CRISP
30:00 intelligent Deathclaws give Hork Bajiir vibes(from animorphs)
What scares me is that I looked at your account recently and we switch from cod to fallout at pretty much the same time
The story flaw is that FEV was not further tweaked to remove the negative effects.
4:08 he turned into Travis for a second
God I miss the livestreames.. those were some fun times. I watched everyone of them live except for a few, from 2019 Kaloon zombies map in bo1 to the last one 6 Months ago, it was one of the most fun community's I've been apart of. You've gave me so many good streams rabbit, thank you.
@40:40 LMMFAO "NOTHING MORE TO SAY" *CLICK CLICK* OMG! I LOVE THE HELL OUT OF YOU!!!
Could you please post your modlist for FNV and F4 if possible?
1. My personal theory for ghouls is that there are a few different ways one can become a ghoul: radiation + genetic factor and/or a strain of fev (possibly an early iteration while they were figuring out how to make the right things grow and mutate for super mutants). As for feralization, i believe theres a mental factor that causes it, specifically damage to the brain caused by the ghoulification process (or typical brain damage)
2:07:00 McCoy went back in time as well, and they go back to 1930, during the Great Depression.
Wow your fallout 4 looks amazing can you share your mods list or is it private?
this took me a week and four different reopened tabs, but I made it! thank you for the lore!
what about in demia or however you say it for 39:17 because he brings up some good points like how you couldn’t remember anything
Love the transition to fallout, zombies is very nice but fallout is the move rn
1:30 also in the jsawyer mod that is where you find the armored vault 13 jumpsuit
You deserve more than 5 mil subs
The Vault Boy thumb theory makes sense considering how much ridiculous shit they use to have in old educational videos about bombs and war.

Pure Strain Humans was also used the 1980’s TSR role playing game, Gamma World. It was an old school pen and paper table top RPG.
