  • Three children and a school care assistant were injured in the stabbing on Thursday in Dublin city centre - the incident led to huge mass rioting in the city which the ROI police chief called a "lunatic, hooligan faction driven by a far-right ideology".
Peter Cardwell speaks with former member of Irish parliament Noel Rock.

There is one problem with brain tumor. It really can change your behaviour in a way that person who was loving and peaceful suddenly attack and kill. But in his story there is few things that does not hold that. First; he's already been charged for carrying knife, threats, if i remember well. Secondly, he had tumor 2 years ago so him and his familly would on first sign of his behavioural change contact doctor and he would be back to treatment. So, what happened really is the question cause tbh i don't believe in this. People already guessed about this statement when this happened

It seems to me that to attack random children in such a way, without even the motive of family rancour or even (yeeuch!) something sexual (paedophilia), that you'd _have_ to be mad by definition. I don't know if the guy's actions were coloured be religion, or what, but I'm sure locals would be equally outraged if something similar happened in Algiers, or Jakarta - or Medina! Perhaps he thought the children were "possessed by Satan", or something?! Maybe I'm just naïve, and he's bad, not mad (as bad as they come!) Maybe he's both! I _do_ get what a lot of people are saying, though - from the get~go, it was all but a foregone conclusion that the message would go out that the guy was your proverbial 'lone nutter'. I have no idea whether the fact he'd previously had a brain tumour has any relevance here, in terms of motive. If it - the tumour - came back, then I think, in fairness, it may do... I think a lot of people don't realise the degree to which brain injury, whether spontaneous, or as the result of accident, or violence, can _utterly_ change someone's personality and demeanour. Charles Whitman, the University of Texas Clock Tower mass shooter, back in the '60's turned out to have had a massive brain tumour at the time of the attack. Not only had others noted the change in him in the run up to the shootings, but apparently he'd even warned doctors himself that he feared 'he was about to lose it and go off on one'! (My words, not his.) Of course if it turns out the assailant in this case has had his brain tumour come back, then unless his defence are absolute clowns, he'll _have_ to be let off (unless the jury rebels!) He might still be locked up, of course, but in a secure ward rather than prison. And Dublin will go up in flames - again. Not saying there wouldn't be a lot of righteous anger involved - or far Right sh1+ stirring (not that I've any particular time for the far Left, with their efforts to destabilise Western society, either!) I think the bigger factor though will be the opportunity for the corner~boys to have a go at the guards, get rat~arsed on stolen booze and help themselves to bubble jackets and trainers...

He was a citizen of twenty years, of all the Irish in the street at the time, it took a recent Migrant " a Brazilian Man " to step in and possibly saved multiple lives. Yes we have a migrant problem, facilitated by the Government, mostly Ukrainian and Eastern Europeans. The EU is paying the Government well to house them, and it is this money and other European money, that has brought Ireland through Covid and the Economic crisis. I suspect, you are probably one of the many beneficiaries, of that money. The Irish were foreigners and migrant, in many Countries who opened their doors to us over the last two centuries in our time of need, thanks to our so call friends in Britain, who invaded our Country and took it by force, I suspect the devious and callous reporter would be part of that regime, a supporter of Paisley and his brotherhood.

As a Dubliner myself, I can tell you that Dublin has not been so much of a peaceful city as of late. The rising crime in Dublin, and in Ireland generally, has been a talking point among citizens for a long time. This has been a long time coming, very tragically. The people are angry and the politicians are more concerned with scoring woke brownie points and carrying out the will of the EU with (with their increased security homes, they got grants) as opposed to actually listening and caring for the people. Things are absolutely dire. But I’m a Christian and this is not out of the blue. Wickedness is increasing and now is the time to read our bibles and turn to Jesus. More human effort can’t save or effect change. This needs to start from the ground up with hearts being changed by the gospel.

Yes we do not want to import scumbags either but it is apperent you grew up in a really nice area. The later is purely economical , not cultural ...integration does not prevent hate towards the host country.. assimilation means that you feel more |Irish than the Irish, British than the British etc... but corporate America is promoting pure individualism to rule and control, meaning noone respects the host nation as their individuality is superiors to the nation.....and this leads to civil war, just like in Lebanon....what if the UK goes to war against Pakistan? or France against Algeria... or Belgium against Morocco? or Germany against Turkey? we would essentially have enemies imbedded on the territories ...

12,000 each year, but we don't see incidents like this. 99% of knife attacks on random strangers will be carried out by Blacks with paranoid schizophrenia, or Muslims. They seem very quick to resort to extreme violence as a result of relatvely minor issues. Must be a culture thing, but all over Europe, immigrant crime is a serious issue. I'm so sorry for your loss 🙏
It is normal for somebody who has these illnesses to have a complete breakdown because of who/what they are leaving behind. My cousin Burnie has got a benign tumor in the brain, and we went to visit her in the hospital, and she was drained out from it. Luckily, she came around from it and went back to normal.
I think what i am trying to say is that we should appreciate the time we have and not wish anything like this on anybody, whether it's illnesses or inflicting harm, especially when it comes to children.
They are all innocent in this world, and we should protect them with our own lives, regardless of race or gender. Anyone who could harm a child isn't human. They are monsters.
What the police in Dublin have done is absolutely appalling for making excuses for this behavior. You just can't keep using mental health as an excuse for these types of crimes.
I'm still getting over suffering from a heart attack in August, which started to play on my mental health, i wasn't becoming emotional, but some nights, i was frightened to go to sleep just in case i have another one. I had to use this angina spray (nitrolingaul) for any sort of twitches i felt to relieve the pain and stress. I'm now on blood thinners, and god knows what to prevent another one, and i am now in cardio rehab to build myself back up and getting back to normal again now.
It doesn't make me want to be violent, it makes me appreciate life more than i ever have done.
      Only cowards hurt children.
So anyone who has been through it, going through it... just remember that you are stronger than you think, and i wish you all the best and keep fighting the big fight. You've got this.
      God Bless 🙏

I visited Dublin for the first time last September. I have to say I was so impressed by how safe I felt as an American. I am saddened by these events and hope for better days ahead for your beautiful city.

@@seanmcmichael2551 That’s horrible. But compared to the US, it felt safe. But we have random shootings. However, I did stick to daytime travel. So, maybe nighttime would have obviously felt different.

@@danwebb4418 I heard the Irish people were so supportive and wonderful to him. Thank you for caring and supporting a fellow American. I hope to return one day and travel all over your beautiful country! 🍀
