      He sure is. Goff is just the better QB. There isn't a stat that doesn't prove that. I love how everyone says Stafford is the better QB yet there isn't a single stat to back that argument up. Not last night, not this season, last season, or over the course of their careers. He may be more flashy, but the facts are, Goff has a better QB rating over the course of their careers simply because throw for throw, Goff achieves more...
      "But but but but....... Goff has a better O-line than Stafford did when he was in Detroit."
      Statistically, Goff was also better when he played for the Rams. Stafford also had a guy named Calvin Johnson.
      Now we have a Goff in his prime and an aging Stafford. He might be tough mentally, but sooner or later, his physical body won't be able to keep up with his mind.

      As I said, data shows otherwise. He might be more flashy, but Goff owns him in every stat... Even over the course of their careers. Even when they played each other yesterday. Goff had a higher completion percentage, more yards per completion, and a better QB rating.

    • @benisrood
      @benisrood 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, sorry, no. The corners are an absolute liability, and two of the touchdowns were on pass plays with the corners getting beat. Come on.

      Both of those touchdowns were outside the red zone so you obviously didn't read the comment

    • @benisrood
      @benisrood 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SuperSpartan1001 Yes, that's precisely *why* he is wrong. They did gain yards and capitalize, by scoring touchdowns outside the red zone, that's the whole point! Yes, when the secondary space compressed in the red zone the Lions defense did better, all that does is completely confirm where the problem is! For the last four weeks especially, that's where the most points have been scored on that defense, so making it all about the red zone is a cope. I love the Lions, I love this team, I hope they go all the way, but picking and choosing what you focus on rather than being honest about the problems is *WEAK* sh*t. It's disingenuous when ESPN did it in their postgame show, it's disingenuous when commentators on youtube do it.

    • @thomasblock1164
      @thomasblock1164 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@benisroodSometimes it isn't disingenuous sometimes it is less sophisticated fandom, and that's ok. Yeah, we need to see a big upgrade in the corner back group and land another edge. They also need to send a
      " 50 holds against Hutchinson" video to the league officiating office. With dramatic music overlay. Yikes. Sometimes they just wrap an arm around his neck and play ships anchor. Can't blame them for doing it, there is no disreward. We do have to give the Lions HIGH praise for what they have done against the run this year. What a turnaround. The next ingredient is to be able to dial up more of a pass rush once you have discouraged the other team from running the football. A good chance for a second win this week end. Imperfect teams have gone to the Superbowl. The Lions could be next.

    • @boommack
      @boommack 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @thomasblock1164 Sometimes it is just reading comprehension as well. The original poster didnt say anything about the corners being All-Pros. He didnt say we were all set on the edge. What he said was that the d tightened up in the red zone and forced fg's.

    People keep bringing up that the Dolphins were so banged up with injuries, but they were completely healthy on offense for the first time in a while and they only put up 7 points. They still had Jalen Ramsey who is supposed to be a shut down corner, and they blitzed the hell out of Mahomes but he ate it up. I dont wanna hear excuses about injuries in January, literally every team is without some of their players. They had Tyreek, Waddle, Mostert and Achane and only scored 7 points. Chiefs were clearly the better team all around.

    While the Packers win was impressive, let’s not overstate how it’s so “unprecedented.” The first time a 7th seed has won? Yes. But keep in mind, this is only the four year of the extended playoff pool. That means that, in only the 7th attempt overall, a 7th seed did win (with the possibility, at the time I type this, that it could happen again tonight with a Steelers win making it 2 of 8 total chances). It’s not like how a 16 seed finally defeated a 1 seed in March Madness.

    Wow Goff raises up. He just knows how to win, thats the mist important aspect of football. McVay of all losses this one has to hurt the most. Stafford played his best game ever in Detroit- his record now in Detroit against teams above .500 is 9-71. Let that sink in

    Nah, the Browns defense lost them that game. They weren't playing well, couldn't stop the Texans at all. Put the offense playing from behind and became 1 dimensional. They had to take chances because if they couldn't score they weren't stopping them. Blaming Flacco for that lose is a major copout.

      @@platoniczombie Why are you yelling?!
      I know we can pinpoint exactly who we got with the traded picks, but in general, Brad Holmes, who could find talent in my broom closet, even without those picks, has built the sort of team that Stafford always performed the best with. Remember his record in games where in he had a 100 yard rusher?
      Anyway, I get your point, I just wonder if HE wonders, if he could've taken THESE Lions to the promised land, moreover I wonder if be ever wishes he could be part of THIS Lions culture.
      Fatt Patricia decimated our team, and I don't blame him a bit for not wanting to go through it again.
