Mafex is my favourite. I've been with them through the low points to the high, and now that they've worked the kinks out, I would rather have a fantastic execution of my favourite characters and iterations than a mediocre breadth approach from other lines. Took me a few years to realize this.
I know the video was about the Mafex figures, but I can't stop staring at those Kenner Batman figures. The younger version of me would love reissues of those.
I git about 3-5 Mafex a year. Fantastic products! Side note, my office was overflowing with DC Multiverse when I was working on the Justice League, George Miller, Movie tie-in game. Good times! Too bad no pics to share of it. Great vid, Bobby!
Big Mafex fan - What I like is that they invest in an entire character library for their select lines. HUSH and Dark Knight Movie Series are great examples. Looking forward to their comic version of BANE and HOPING they develop a comic version Hulk one day.
Try and go for the DC license. I think if you get a hold of that license, it would end up being the ultimate version for DC fans, at least here in the U.S. and we won't have to look for imports.
They got me into collecting action figures once I heard about the comic Spiderman 075 was about to get a re-release. The right scale, the articulations, the amount of accessories, cloth wired capes, the paint that they use, the overall quality…it’s everything I’ve always wanted from action figures.
I hope MAFEX releases a Hal Jordan Green Lantern so I can continue with my Justice League shelf, got the Superman and Batman Hush figures and they are great
I just got into MAFEX last year and just got the hush Superman and Batman and those are phenomenal. Same with cyborg Superman and steel. Just mostly finished my marvel collection which was easier because ML are easily available and been looking for a way to redo my DC in the same scale (DC universe classics and dc direct is what I had but those are very dated today). MAFEX is one I keep an eye on for faves.
I love the Hush Superman, It's one of my favourite figures so I'd love them to do a DoS Superman but use the Cyborg Superman as I always felt he's a little better scale wise. Surprised you haven't gone for the Dark night figures too
Mafex makes toy collecting amazing I really think the art toy influence from their different lines like BearBrick helped them develop the clean artstyle that they’re known for

Been by their stuff for years, they have had some issues but most of the time they learn from their mistakes and fix them up, and they knock it out of the ballpark.

I think it would be so cool if Valaverse got the DC Multiverse license when Mcfarlane's run ends. If not DC multiverse then some other DC line. You being a diehard DC fan, I think you could actually do it justice and give us the figures we deserve

For perfect Doomsdays, the Gold label or Platinum Target Exclusive McFarlane Doomsday from the 2 pack is really good. I found that the DC Universe Classics Doomsday from the old Mattel Signature Series, aesthetically, matches well with the Mafex Return of Superman figures…
We defdinetly need a long halloween mafex run. Really hoping for three things from them. Reign of Superman Featured Hal Jordan near the end when they blew up coast city. Give us that GL. Tim Drake Robin was in hush, so that robin would be awesome. Jimmy Gordon. The mezco one costs an arm and a leg, the mattel and mcfarlane ones suck, give us Gordon in mafex.
I just got my first Mafex figure today. I picked up Steel when BBTS had him on sale and holy crap he looks so good. Joints good be a little tighter, but they arent floppy. I now have to resist the urge to get the other 3 Supermen.
Mafex is the best Toy line on the market. Every time i get my hands on a Mafex I just get lost in posing it around. I was always a DC guy too, i grew up in the 2000's and that was the golden age of DC Cartoons and DC Animated movies on Cartoon Network especially. I watched Batman The Animated Series, The Batman (2004), Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, Teen Titans, Superman Doomsday, Justice League The New Frontier, The Batman VS Dracula, Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, Batman Mr Freeze: Sub Zero, so many classics! Not to mention the Mattel Justice League toy line and The Batman toy lines and the video games like Batman Arkham Asylum, Teen Titans, Justice League Heroes, Lego Batman, Batman Arkham City, even Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. I like Marvel, but DC will always be my personal favorite and Man of Steel is my favorite Comic Book movie of all time.
I have The Dark Knight Returns and Hush Batman by Mafex which are by far my favorite versions of Batman. Wish Mafex would put out a Deathstroke and Talon.
That AzBat figure is literally ripped from the pages of Graham Nolans' work during the Knightquest run. Mafex has pretty much consistently knocked it out of the park, perfectly translating the artwork of the comics into figure form. Can't wait for the Bane and Grey/Blue Batman.
The Mafex toys look amazing, If I Collected 1/12th scale I would Pick them up but honestly I'm hooked on the 1/6th scale for detail they can't be beat.

I got into Mafex to quench my desires for a really good 6" scale Batman....I got the Hush version when it was released (blue and grey) soon as it arrived I ordered the black and grey version and that opened up the flood gates Magneto...Huntress.....Gambit....I missed out Psylocke and am waiting for the reissuse the only small gripe I have is the ankle articulation on the female figures but...hey if that's the only real issue......no biggie the only other issue is getting these where I am for a reasonable price but....first world problems right?😂
A few weeks back I bought my first Mafex. Steel. I’ve been waiting for a proper steel for years. Fantastic figure. Such quality. Then it fell off my mantle and snapped two days later. 🍾one for the homies. Easily the worst way to spend 100$.
You got notches on my respect-o-meter by being more of a DC fan, boat load more for showing Bat-fleck ( I love Bat-fleck) on a Marvel meeting...woulda been my all-time hero if it had been a Superman-related image. Either way I just bought Steel, cyborg and PO'ed superboy and eradicator. I've been on the edge for these anyway.
Mafex is my go-to line for DC figures. The Icons line died right after I got into it. I was ready to go all in with McFarlane, but he switched up the torsos so that they have no movement and his scaling is all over the place.
I love Diamond Select stuff too. Some of the older ones had dumb hip articulation and loose feet (I'm looking at you Wolverine haha), but visually they're outstanding and they're not as fragile as Neca or McFarlane stuff. I also find the 7"/1:10 scale to be a lot more striking on the shelf than your typical 6 inch figures, especially when sculpted and shaded detail matters a lot on what would otherwise by a pretty simple design. They're also at the point now where most Hasbro things just look like McDonalds toys, and with prices being nearly on par, the only advantage with Hasbro remains with their larger figure library. A really stark comparison comes with the Fantastic 4 figures, especially with Sue & Reid. Torch & Thing are way better as well, but with the more human faces/bodies as well as the phasing and stretching accessories nobody can say it's not night and day.

@@LordFocker87 most of them can barely stand as well which negates whatever "on paper" articulation/moving parts they have, seem to have less and less unique colouring, and they really are on the Neca level of frailty too. I had a friend over last summer who isn't hugely into this stuff, but she was looking at some of my figures and noticed right away that my Batman and Catwoman were modern McFarlane stuff, mostly by the capes. She thought they looked cool, but not as detailed as what she remembered from the late 90's, and again this is coming from someone who doesn't spend time researching or comparing action figures. I like them too and respect how prices haven't skyrocketed too badly yet as well as their distribution being better than the other companies (at least in Canada where I live)... But at the same time we've gotta call a spade a spade. McFarlane has taken steps back while the others have taken steps forward. You look at or hold Mafex or Diamond stuff, and you know you've got something premium.
MAFEX has grown to become my go-to line for DC Comics figures. I am a Marvel guy by default, but I have a huge respect for DC lore and storytelling, especially with Batman
It has always been "MAY - FEX" to me too, sounds better. I agree it's an awesome toy company. Figures are expensive so I cherry pic, but each figure I have bought from them is amazing. By the way the story of showing the image of Batman to the Marvel team was hilarious!
Have you ever thought about making some MECH ROBOTS for the Valervers 6 inch figures to fit in side of, man that’s something that GI.JOE from HASBRO is missing, if yo did it , I personally think that would be the hottest thing ever made for a military toy line. ….but yeah make some more videos 👍🏿🤓

I love mafex they don’t scale figures so great. For instance the Thor from mafex is about the same or smaller than other marvel characters. I do love mafex they have some work to do as far as figure scaling goes. This was the best video of this series.
I recently switched from McFarlane to Mafex for my Batman, Joker and Harley Quinn. I'd like to get a Catwoman, but I kinda want to hold off and see if they do her purple suit from Knightfall 🦇😻
I love mafex but sort of done with movie comic universes. The detail is good but not as sharp in facial features. I only have robocop but i wish i could keep up with all of Superman versions and all of knightfall figures
The reason why I personally hate modern Marvel figure (or Disney generally) is they keep sells character that nobody want. For Marvel legends example, bunch of American Chavez and Eternals figure lying untouched for years waiting for dumpster. The first mistake for retailers is bought bulk of unpopular figures nobody wants it. Meanwhile Bandai with SHF only sells limited amount figures that everyone wants and you can only buy it at Hobby Shop. I love DC figures, especially collecting the spinmaster blind pack. Even though it's small figure and cheaper, but the detail is great.
lol @story. I would of died laughing hearing the boos lol. I'm more of a Mezco, Amazing Yamaguchi dude but I give Mafex their props. The figs to me are kinda on the shinny side for me especially with their Xmen lines but still good. They kinda dropped the ball with Huntress not including her with her crossbow. Dunno if that was their decision or a mandate from WB. Poseability could of been a bit better. Hush is cool. Not OMG greatest fig ever but when you keep seeing the same characters being released he was a breathe of fresh air to me. Poison Ivy...while I think many were STARVING to get one...came out ok. I have her posed up. Nightwing...oooo wee. Very good imo. Bats...he sold out when I found out about him. Didnt hop on the reissue as I have a Mezco to fill his spot. I also have Steel, and Catwoman. Catwoman...meeeooow. Great fig. Upcoming is Scarecrow and I believe Superboy from Reign of Superman. Thanks for vid!
I have the Mafex Knightfall Batman (Azrael). I have almost every Azrael figure (Kenner, DC Direct, Mattel, McFarlane, etc...). I hope Mafex does a Knightquest Batman. I also love Batfleck and the Snyderverse. Zack Snyder's Justice League is one of my favorite movies. If I had more money, I'd have bought Mafex Ben Reilly (Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider), Age of Apocalypse Magneto, and Return of Superman Eradicator. I love the 90s replacement heroes. That was when I got into comics.
I hope one day Mafex taps into Batman Forever, I would love it if they made a figure of the black suit Batman and the sonar one because why not lol. And a robin fig would dope too!
HA HA HA! The Batman story is funny. Imagine the response at Hasbro HQ if any employee dared show their Valaverse Action Force fandom while on the job. Maybe Hasbro thoroughly checks their employees' social media accounts. (I'm a little curous about how Hasbro views their competition.)
Speaking of 90s storylines, I'd like to see them do a line from The Return of Barry Allen, my personal favorite from that decade (Toddler's Reverse Flash is garbage). Don't know how I'd afford it, but would love to see it. Also wish they'd include the Krypton Man (both versions) as a bonus in Return of Supermen. Cool-looking character, and I don't think anyone's ever done it.

I'm going to let everyone on a little secret, no one at Marvel hates Batman or DC. Most of the people that work there are/were fans of DC characters and a lot either worked for DC or would if the circumstances were right. The same would apply to DC staff.
I personally think it's a crime to not have trunks on super heroes who started out with them. Why I'm so mad at the new legends cyclops. They gave wolverine trunks by sculpting them on his legs, but he got a thong. Lol

Wish this was announcing you got the license to make 6" DC figures. It kills me McFarlane won't make something that scales with Legends, so it'd be nice if DC got someone that would.
We're at a point now where the best stuff is at the 7 inch scale. Hasbro's best offerings tend to be the oversized ones anyway rather than their endless slue of tiny 6 inch repaints. McFarlane's 7 inch will work better with Diamond, Neca, Super 7, and really even Mattel's wrestling figures are more of a 1:11 scale (kinda in between 6 and 7 inch) where the most toyetic guys like Undertaker & Kane are supposed to be tall. Then we have import figurarts stuff that will be smaller, and really unless you wanna have a dedicated standoff between Batman & Magneto, scale is much less of a dealbreaker once in hand or on the shelf than it is when we're dwelling on things before hand. One of the only 6 inch figures I kept is a comic style Scarlet Witch, and she works just fine with my Diamond Selects. She has heels, isn't realistically a super big person, and I have her kind of in the centre standing on a base near Colossus, Red Hulk, Daredevil and Spiderman. On a flight stand, it would work even better.
Imo, Bobby you need to take on dc multiverse instead of mcfarlane because he is doing wrong scaling besides figures Can’t be combined with the previous dcuc i love valaverse and what u did at hasbro but you need to get dc comics license you would kick ass
not only that but his character selection is whack. We have so many versions of batman that just warms in the pegs, but desirable characters like wonderwoman are extremely stupid to acquire especially if you arent from the US.

Comic Spiderman Version 2.0 and Gambit are probably two of the best Mafex Marvel figures, and that Dark Knight Superman is absolute fire 🔥

FYI, MAFEX should be pronounced with a soft 'a', as in Alpha, because MAFEX stands for Miracle Action Figure EX.

McFarlane sucks...they can't make PINLESS figures. And it's weird how they manage their 7 inches figures. I do prefer DIAMOND SELECT

@@LordFocker87 most of them can barely stand as well which negates whatever "on paper" articulation/moving parts they have, seem to have less and less unique colouring, and they really are on the Neca level of frailty too. I had a friend over last summer who isn't hugely into this stuff, but she was looking at some of my figures and noticed right away that my Batman and Catwoman were modern McFarlane stuff, mostly by the capes. She thought they looked cool, but not as detailed as what she remembered from the late 90's, and again this is coming from someone who doesn't spend time researching or comparing action figures. I like them too and respect how prices haven't skyrocketed too badly yet as well as their distribution being better than the other companies (at least in Canada where I live)... But at the same time we've gotta call a spade a spade.
McFarlane has taken steps back while the others have taken steps forward. You look at or hold Mafex or Diamond stuff, and you know you've got something premium.

MAFEX has grown to become my go-to line for DC Comics figures. I am a Marvel guy by default, but I have a huge respect for DC lore and storytelling, especially with Batman
I had that dark knight rises cat woman and wow, that was terrible, but I have several others I love. The recent Poison Ivy is probably my favorite.

It has always been "MAY - FEX" to me too, sounds better. I agree it's an awesome toy company. Figures are expensive so I cherry pic, but each figure I have bought from them is amazing. By the way the story of showing the image of Batman to the Marvel team was hilarious!

I love mafex they don’t scale figures so great. For instance the Thor from mafex is about the same or smaller than other marvel characters. I do love mafex they have some work to do as far as figure scaling goes. This was the best video of this series.

I love mafex but sort of done with movie comic universes. The detail is good but not as sharp in facial features. I only have robocop but i wish i could keep up with all of Superman versions and all of knightfall figures

The reason why I personally hate modern Marvel figure (or Disney generally) is they keep sells character that nobody want. For Marvel legends example, bunch of American Chavez and Eternals figure lying untouched for years waiting for dumpster. The first mistake for retailers is bought bulk of unpopular figures nobody wants it. Meanwhile Bandai with SHF only sells limited amount figures that everyone wants and you can only buy it at Hobby Shop. I love DC figures, especially collecting the spinmaster blind pack. Even though it's small figure and cheaper, but the detail is great.
You trip to China will be a good opportunity to stock up, avoid those import fees and grab some bargains.

I'm more of a Mezco, Amazing Yamaguchi dude but I give Mafex their props. The figs to me are kinda on the shinny side for me especially with their Xmen lines but still good.
They kinda dropped the ball with Huntress not including her with her crossbow. Dunno if that was their decision or a mandate from WB. Poseability could of been a bit better. Hush is cool. Not OMG greatest fig ever but when you keep seeing the same characters being released he was a breathe of fresh air to me. Poison Ivy...while I think many were STARVING to get one...came out ok. I have her posed up. Nightwing...oooo wee. Very good imo. Bats...he sold out when I found out about him. Didnt hop on the reissue as I have a Mezco to fill his spot. I also have Steel, and Catwoman. Catwoman...meeeooow. Great fig.

I have the Mafex Knightfall Batman (Azrael). I have almost every Azrael figure (Kenner, DC Direct, Mattel, McFarlane, etc...). I hope Mafex does a Knightquest Batman.
I also love Batfleck and the Snyderverse. Zack Snyder's Justice League is one of my favorite movies.
If I had more money, I'd have bought Mafex Ben Reilly (Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider), Age of Apocalypse Magneto, and Return of Superman Eradicator. I love the 90s replacement heroes. That was when I got into comics.
I hope one day Mafex taps into Batman Forever, I would love it if they made a figure of the black suit Batman and the sonar one because why not lol. And a robin fig would dope too!

Speaking of 90s storylines, I'd like to see them do a line from The Return of Barry Allen, my personal favorite from that decade (Toddler's Reverse Flash is garbage). Don't know how I'd afford it, but would love to see it. Also wish they'd include the Krypton Man (both versions) as a bonus in Return of Supermen. Cool-looking character, and I don't think anyone's ever done it.

I'm going to let everyone on a little secret, no one at Marvel hates Batman or DC. Most of the people that work there are/were fans of DC characters and a lot either worked for DC or would if the circumstances were right. The same would apply to DC staff.
I am a big DC fan as well. I don't hate Marvel but my first comic book was Batman.
I personally think it's a crime to not have trunks on super heroes who started out with them. Why I'm so mad at the new legends cyclops. They gave wolverine trunks by sculpting them on his legs, but he got a thong. Lol

Wish this was announcing you got the license to make 6" DC figures. It kills me McFarlane won't make something that scales with Legends, so it'd be nice if DC got someone that would.
We're at a point now where the best stuff is at the 7 inch scale. Hasbro's best offerings tend to be the oversized ones anyway rather than their endless slue of tiny 6 inch repaints. McFarlane's 7 inch will work better with Diamond, Neca, Super 7, and really even Mattel's wrestling figures are more of a 1:11 scale (kinda in between 6 and 7 inch) where the most toyetic guys like Undertaker & Kane are supposed to be tall.
Then we have import figurarts stuff that will be smaller, and really unless you wanna have a dedicated standoff between Batman & Magneto, scale is much less of a dealbreaker once in hand or on the shelf than it is when we're dwelling on things before hand.
One of the only 6 inch figures I kept is a comic style Scarlet Witch, and she works just fine with my Diamond Selects. She has heels, isn't realistically a super big person, and I have her kind of in the centre standing on a base near Colossus, Red Hulk, Daredevil and Spiderman. On a flight stand, it would work even better.
