Thanks for this series. I just purchased FG. This has been very helpful. I’m looking forward to watching the rest.

Good video. I found it very helpful. I hope to see an updated version of these once Unity finishes working the kinks out. I'm new to FG and my group wanted to use FGU so I figured I'd learn FGU instead of just FG to avoid confusion. I've never used a program like this so I may end up w/ several questions over time. So I just thought I would say thanks ahead of time. You explained things very well.
My first question is how do we delete a campaign? I've got several rough attempts where I was trying figure stuff out that I don't need in the campaign list. Do I just go in and delete the folder like you change the name or is there a specific way to do it?
    thanks

@MiniBlaze, to delete a campaign, navigate to your Fantasy Grounds Data folder. If your not sure where it is, simply click on the settings button on the launcher screen, then navigate to the advanced tab. Within that will be a Data Directory header, with a path underneath that. Open that path in windows explorer.
Within that folder is a campaigns folder, and that will be where your campaigns are. Simply select the campaign you wish to remove and delete it as you would a file or folder.

One correction to your statement about D&D 2e and AD&D. AD&D was a modification/expansion/update of the rules from Basic D&D and preceded all versions except D&D (now called Basic) and the games that preceded Basic D&D (i.e. the rules Basic was morphed out of).

Thanks for that, I am literally dredging up old memories on AD&D, so some of that is most likely foggy :>

To rename a campaign, you need to go into your Data subdirectories, look for the Campaign subdirectory, and you'll see a folder with your campaign name there. If you rename that folder, you'll rename your campaign. Note that your game cannot be started when you make this change.

Correct, and thank you for mentioning that.

I like the cloud option due to the added server security - not opening a port on my system. With the cloud option, is this solely for communication, but the files for your campaign still reside on your computer you are running?

As far as I understand it, the cloud option is primarily used for facilitating communication between your DM session, and the player sessions. However, that does not mean there will not be a cached copy of any resources you are providing to the players for the duration of your session - it would make logical sense to do that to minimize some data transfer costs - if there are any at play for Smiteworks.

Id like to ask if you know by any chance, because I cannot find any decent info on this. Is it possible for a DM to run a standard license, and have two players join the game, one with standard license as well and one with a demo? This stems from the fact that one of my players is willing to buy a standard license, and one of them isnt, and if this combo doesnt work, then Ill have to decide whether or not I want to buy a second license myself and give it to the player for the time being (the willing player is a player who joins through the web, and the unwilling players are here at my table, so technically I would only be letting them use a license I know on the second laptop here where I run the games, so I dont think that should breach any license agreements).

@ManoChannelTuNelysk, I recommend you take a look at the first video of this playlist, it should answer that question for you:

@@stoehovve I dont want to sound bitter or anything, its just an objective observation. Your video basically says that you dont know if what I asked is possible to do.

@ManoChannelTuNelysk, sorry about that,I thought I had covered that license in more detail in that video and had that answered, hence why I had pointed you to it. I was just heading off to work, so I was in a bit of a hurry. I've done a quick look, and if you go to this page:
      www.fantasygrounds.com/home/FantasyGroundsClassic.php
      or this one
      www.fantasygrounds.com/home/FantasyGroundsUnity.php
You'll see a comparison chart down near the bottom of the page. It looks like the standard license does not allow the demo version to connect to it, for either the classic or unity versions.

@@stoehovve I know the comparison chart. The thing is, I have already tried it out and used a demo version on a laptop in the house to connect to my campaign on a standard license and it did work. What I havent tried is to also connect to the same campaign with another standard license at the same time as the demo player. I have the options of either asking the CEO of Smiteworks through their support email, or to buy another standard license and test it out myself at home and ask for a refund if it turns out that I dont need the extra license.

@ManoChannelTuNelysk , the comparison page shows you as part of the chart through 3 of the points it tries to make. As a standard license you can only host standard or ultimate licensed players at the same time. The "host game for demo players" has a red x next to it, meaning that you can't have a demo player connected if you have any other player connected. If you want to connect a demo player, you can only host that demo player, as per the bottom point listed under the standard license.

@Robert B, This was when I was just getting started with uploading videos, and I was learning how to be concise with my recordings. They get better as I get more experience under my belt.
