Super cute!! I didn't get the figurines but my walmart has a display of the 5.5 inch dolls of RB & Strawberry Shortcake and I was able to grab the one I liked most - I went with best bangs - and look forward to more of the dolls in that range (wave 1 seems to be all the original main girls except Shy Violet plus Stormy & Tickled Pink). I'm hoping Violet is in a wave 2 with the boys or even just pops up by herself some time in the future.
This really takes me back. I'm pretty sure I even still have my OG Rainbow Brite and Puppy Brite stuffies stored somewhere, though I haven't seen them in years. One of my favorite cartoons as a kid. Good luck on finding the last two chases!
These are nice looking figures. Thanks for sharing the barcodes. I probably won't hunt for chase figures, but I wouldn't mind having all of the color kids when they release the rest of them.
Iv been subscribed to your channel for a long time but even though I'm subscribed to all.. everything you post i don't get notifications so I thought you weren't making video.. glad I searched your channel again.. ty from England
I used to have a Rainbow Brite cassette that I would listen to for hours when I was little. Only switching off occasionally with my Cabbage Patch cassette.
Aren't these remade into new show? Hence why they have these toys now. Usually it's always a show or anniversary release of sorts followed up with media release too otherwise they never bother produce it if it doesn't air somewhere or isn't tied to some colab. I don't watch TV or sub based websites but somehow remember seeing this show on one cartoon channel while visiting relatives. I think they were either 3D animated or similar enough. I remember the art style was basic and animation was stiff, kinda tipical for new age so I lost interest fast. Even the kids didn't watch it, it was just on in the background while we were playing and making things on the table, talking so the TV was just vaporwave in the room. It was maybe a year or two ago or so.
I remember Rainbow Brite (i'm 35) I was first introduced when a kind old lady across the road gave me and my sister a couple of things when we visited her and one time she gave us a couple of Rainbow Brite books (I must have been between 6 and 8). Feeling nostalgic now as Rainbow Brite reminds me of that time. Our mam didn't force us to go, but I remember going by myself a couple of times to keep her company as she didn't have much family.
Didn’t know about the figures. I just thought it was fashion dolls and doll dolls as that’s what my Walmart got but mostly it’s just been of Rainbow Brite herself (and Strawberry Shortcake). I got both but the fashion doll was mostly bought cause at the time the doll doll was sold out. I’ve been wanting a Rainbow Brite doll since I was six (I’ll be 39 in October which says a lot) so seeing the doll doll in stock at my store was a childhood dream come true. Also she’s only 15 bucks which is a steal for something like her. The fashion doll is 12 dollars. US prices btw.
I had no idea these were even being released when I saw some Rainbow Brite on the Walmart shelves. I was so loud in my expletive laden reaction "EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! OH F*** YEAH!!! RAINBOW BRITE!!" My poor daughter witnessing that 😅 though I also stand by my reaction because holy f*** yeah!!! Rainbow Brite and friends!! There was extra joy for me in this discovery because I had a bunch of Rainbow Brite stuff when I was a kid. When I was 12, my mom and step-dad decided I was too old for them and gave them to my younger sisters. One of whom took a Bic pen and scribbled all over Baby Brites face. That ish never came off, even with Magic Erasers. It didn't end there, though. In my teen years, my sisters and I kept finding ourselves asking "Where did my [insert object here] go?" My step-dad would shrug it off "If you took better care of your things, you'd know where it was." Then one day my mom came home early from work and caught him going into our rooms (while we were in school) looking for things to sell on eBay. He sold all my Rainbow Brite stuff and first-gen MLP's and everything from my 80s childhood on fkn eBay then gaslit my sisters and I like we were the ones who lost them! But ofc he was a narcissist (before we knew what narcs are) so even while caught in the act, he just shrugged it off "They don't deserve those things, anyways. Look how much money I made!" (Money he did NOT spend on us or bills, no. Money my mom hadn't even known about because he spent it on himself.) So overspending on these 40th Anniversary ones was kind of like taking something back from my (former) step-dad and giving him a big middle finger. He can't steal these ones from me or give then to a baby to scribble on and tell me I'm too old for dolls and toys! (Extra offensive from a man who collects video games! No shade to the gamers, just who tf is a gamer to hate on other adults for having nostalgic toys?) Anyways, yeah, this 40th Anniversary release has been kind of like therapy...
Okay so first of all thank you so much for such a long and wonderful comment mostly because I enjoy learning about my audience and having relatable moments. However and let me just say that is such a horrible story I'm so sorry that one your stuff got ruined and two that you're stepdad was such a narcissist that would steal your stuff sell it and then blame it all on you guys. That is just so horrible on so many levels. I'm glad to hear that you are excited about this Anniversary collection and I hope that you are able to get all of them to heal your inner child and love what you love out loud unashamedly. If you do get them all I would love to see a display if you set one up, feel free to message me on Instagram.
I watched this video this morning, didn't know Rainbow Brite so I decided to do a little research. That quickly escalated into reading about various other nostalgic series (I had no idea so many of them originates from greeting cards!) and now I'm in the middle of toy controversies rabbit hole (did you know that lore-wise, Cabbage Patch Kids who end up not being adopted must do child labor for some evil lady?)
my fave is shy violet, so i'm waiting/hoping for a color kids release! of these figures, either twink or tickled pink is my favorite, though stormy reminds me of my gf 🤭
So cute! I've never heard of Rainbo Bright, but it seems like something I would've loved as a kid. But I always loved anything with glitter, so I probably would've been a little upset that there wasn't any glitter involved haha. How bright is the glow on these? Do you think I'd be able to see them? I do have some light perception, but it's very poor.
Hey there I am not a fan of glitter so I would have been okay with it but as for anyone who wanted the glitter I'm sorry. It's possible that they came out with a set that had some kind of glitter involved at some point along with a span of the toy franchise though. As for the brightness of the glow. mean it's pretty bright. However unfortunately since I don't know how well you could see the standard glow or a difference between glowing items on average it would be hard for me to tell you whether or not you can see the glow on these. Do you find that if you've cracked a green glow stick you can see that after you've given it a shake? Because if so that's kind of a good control for me to base it on. The green glow stick would emit a brighter glow then these glow in the dark figures. This glow is bright but is more muted comparatively, and also only lasts a minute or two while simultaneously slowly fading away until you add more light. Hopefully that helps.
@@NexJen haha, I don't know how common this is with the VI people in your family, but I push on my eyes with my fists all the time. My light perception used to be much better, but now I have keratoconus, and my eyes are very bumpy. I can see bright sunlight, but I haven't used a glowstick for a really long time. The doctors say I've really messed my eyes up. They're slanted and very dry. I don't think I'd be able to see them, but thank you so much for your reply.
The chases are glow in the dark twink and starlight they look like the regular figures they just glow and the rainbow brite chase is metallic and the box does say chase on it
There are glowing Twink and Starlite and a metallic Rainbow Brite and a flocked Twink. The boxes only say chase in the U.S and maybe elsewhere but not in Canada.
Hi, I was just comparing the chase barcodes, it seems you swapped the codes for reg Twink & GID Twink. 58071 is reg and 58073 is GID. You can see it when you slow down the video when you open the 2nd Twink barcode ends in 73. I have the reg one it ends in 71 and no star on my booklet nor does it glow.. 😢
🤔 I wonder if they'd do stormy (nvm I see stormy) and skydancer in one of the series. I did find these at 5 below in the US since we don't have toysrus. I want to sang them ;;
i always loved Canary Yellow - she was always so cheerful and kind
Hopefully that Shy Violet will be available for your collection.
My cousin grew up with Rainbow Brite.

Oooh time for a deep clean and treasure hunt in the house 😀
@@NexJen Now, don't get too hasty there!

I love these re release characters sooo much. Can't wait for stormy big doll. Great video jen, love it!! Brings back my childhood ❤❤
The horse was pretty vain, I think he'd object to how short and thin they made his tail. lol
...I'm avoiding eye contact with the computer screen now.
Love this! I had so much Rainbow Brite gear when I was little!
0:00 the way the Zoe electra doll is dressed up is so pretty!
I laughed way to hard at the boop
My grandma had these dolls at her house for me. Twink was my favorite stuff animal.

I ordered my moonglow plush. She was my favorite one, I love moon themed things, and personality wise she fits me alot 😂
I was born in 87 so I don’t really have nostalgia but if I did I would’ve gobbled up these figures immediately.

I have an original Twink from the 80’s. He looks great and looks AWESOME!

My family member had rainbow brighte doll it’s from the 80s saw the 80s cartoon on a bootlegged website years ago 😊
I always assumed the white trim on Rainbow Brite’s dress was white fur to mimic clouds?
"Who's that Pokemon?" 😂

I’ve only been able to find these at Walmart. I found chase rainbow brite today

Edit: But are these really around $25 in the US?
They should be about $5 each in the US.

Cute🎉
I have the original plush of the little furry guy. Can't type his name in the comment without an issue, since his name also means something else lol!
