God that title reminds me of when me and a friend got our hands on some testing docs for the Challenger tank. It was really interesting to read all the data until we got too the "lethality trials" of the gun where the engineers went into great technical detail describing the effects that penetrating rounds had on 5 living rabbits inside the hull. I understand the necessity of the trials of course but my heart sank a bit when reading about how one of the rabbits "didnt die until the 2nd hit"... Thanks for your service test bunnies.
I build exclusively light tank, the Whippet right from the start in the previous build and it works solely because it was fast, agile, reliable, and easy to repair which overshadow the protection, and hard firepower score. I could lower the price while lower the deadline since the tank itself is super cheap, and quickly produce. I thought I would pulling a scam over British but no, it perform extremely well against the German. The A7V can't hit the Whippet. Whippet while unable to penetrate and destroy the A7V, still can damage it (that is riveting for you) and the A7V was highly unreliable, and difficult to repair. Half of them wouldn't even get to the battlefield. Other half broke down after combat and irrepairable. My Whippet all get to the battlefield and stay there longer since it is more reliable and consume less fuel. My design won solely because of the attrition. Honestly, I'm curious to see if this still possible in WW2 era. I get why it works well in WW1 era.
You basically just described the M4's advantage over the big cats so theoretically it should. The tank that gets to the battlefield is inevitably going to be better than the one that doesn't.

5:00 - I believe if you assign William Tritton to the Admin building, then you get the reduction in maintenance costs. Assigning him to the Production Hall gives you the reduction in production time. In older versions he would still reduce the maintenance on the Production Hall itself, but maybe it doesn't work that way anymore.
12:50 - Another cool thing is even if you don't want to use a different track assembly, you can design a new Whippet track that uses some German parts, for example. :) When comparing two tracks, just keep in mind that the stats differ depending on the parts used to make those tracks.
I recommend also looking at redesigning your Lewis MG to see if it can benefit from any German parts. Or possibly research the Hotchkiss 1909, which is pretty quick.
so, one of the things about contracts IN REAL LIFE is that sometimes you don't make the cut, but you've impressed them so much in other ways they'll give you a shot perfect Example is the B-17. it actually failed in the contest to make a new bomber for the US Air force, but the guys loved it so much that they gave it a different contract.
I think the success being better than required adds too much to the success score (in the case of the LK2 it is a LOT lighter than required). It’s like „ah we want a well protected heavy tank with big guns“ and you are like „here is a super light tank - it doesn’t have a big gun but it is a lot lighter than you wanted“ - that’s why this is a Beta I guess

It is not exactly ridiculous. IRL 90s SWAT consistently complained about how incompetent 9mm Para was and thus used 45 ACP quite often. However after 20 years, during which bulletproof vest developed fast, FBI realized the problem was people being bad at shooting instead of bad rounds.
I would love it if we could get paid for sending in the required number of tanks (10 or 20, depending on how you look at it) and then paid again if we send in the extra tanks, rather than just all or nothing for the entire amount.

ROFLMAO --- The tanks feeble rounds failed to penetrate the enemy's armor bouncing off like pebble's. Against horses. I imagine the Jutland Dragoons were really the Winged Hussars decked out in armor plate, charging in so fast they kept missing due to speed of bouncing off the armor horse. OR ... it could be as a beta the devs have really failed to consider battles vs non-armored foes in to process so you get really stupid results. And I really want to know how they killed off a tank. Did the 170 dead Dragoons fall on the tank and crush it under the weight of so many horses? ROFLMAO ... oh devs sometimes your folks amaze me in how you fail to think of things like this.
200 cav vs 1 tank? If they use reasonable tactics and have something like a grenade, they overrun the tank and crack the crew out of it. That’s why you support tanks with infantry and all. Combined arms, you know. As the Russians showed they had forgotten at the beginning of the current Ukraine war.
This game is interesting but maybe a bit too ambitious. It is supposed to cover the invention of tanks to modern times. Unfortunately, that would make things exactly complicated due to the new tech trees that they will need for different eras. Unless they are doing this game in eras and release era packs that update the game then I do not see how this is going to work.
I asked the dev about it and you always see the report of the defender in this version. It was the horses that couldn't pen my tanks.

As a Dane I can confirm that Danish Horses are made of 200mm thick titanium so its no wonder your tanks couldn't penetrate them
You see the horses were angled and so your bullets got ricocheted

Horses have a lot of funny geometry so I'm not surprised volumetric screwed you here. In particular the mouth mantlet tends to eat tons of shells.
