Aside from the Almighty, and that one dude's bankai in the novels that granted him clairvoyance and the ability to kill people from inside them, Shinji's bankai may be the most haxed ability in Bleach. It wouldn't work on Ywach obviously, but imagine if Shinji encountered Ywach's elite guard by himself and used his bankai? They'd all start viewing Shinji as an ally who's under attack by the others and it would turn into a last man standing battle royal while Shinji is just kicking back on the sidelines lol.
downside being hes no use one on one against high level opponents ...the ban on shinji bankai is just a plot hole in my opinion cause aizens shikai is waay more powerful yet was left to roam free
@reborn500 It would still work in 1v1 settings wouldn't it? It seems like an effective method of assassination. Use the bankai to get the opponent to think you're an ally, then chop their head off while their guard is down. Could also be used as recruitment, and have a powerful ally fight a stronger enemy in a fight to the death. I haven't read any of the novels, only know bits and pieces so I don't know if there's some limit to the caliber of opponent he could use his bankai on

She will not see Shinji as her enemy.
Shinji's bankai actually surpasses Aizen's shikai because it can directly induce infallible delusions, ie delusions you completely believe to be reality to the point you can't even question them. Aizen's shikai messes with your senses but he doesn't alter your cognition. That makes his bankai way more OP

Shinji's Bankai remains one of my favorite Bankais of Bleach ever since it got first revealed in the Bleach light novel can't fear your own world
The aspect that makes Shinji's zanpakuto so unique is that everything is reversed
His Bankai takes the role of his Shikai and his Shikai takes the role of his Bankai, because his Shikai is for a strong single target while his Bankai serves for a huge amount of small fries

@@victorampo1137 no it is not even a complete vasto lord cause a vasto lord have control over himself like you can take example of espada cause in bleach it was explained that most hollow are mostly mindless and don't have ambition but some of those have and when one hollow eats others hollows he eventually becomes a menos and menos by eating other menos become a adjuchas like grimmjow when he was adjuchas he still have a ambition and mind of his own and a vasto lord is like all espada but in ichigo case it was just his hollow power popping out more than what it was in his hollow mask but in manga his HOS form is a vasto lord form and he can also do resurrecion and volstandich as well with his bankai and in bbs game of bleach there is a version of ichigo with everything (bankai+volstandich+resurreccion ) drawn by kubo (the author of bleach ) hence every vizard can go resurrecion

Shinji's whole schtick is doing things backwards. Even the concept of his zanpakuto is backwards because, as it was stated, the Shikai is effective against the bosses while his Bankai is meant to take out the small fry (which is the complete opposite of every other zanpakuto to date). The reason he didn't use his Bankai up until that point in the anime is simple: it would force his own allies to kill each other as well. It is unknown what the range is for his Bankai, but it only needs to be used once since it is just that powerful (which may be pretty efficient on his reiryoku reserves). If I had to guess, Shinji's Shikai is so powerful on it's own that he never needed to use it in addition to his Hollow mask.
Of course, it may just be another backwards concept that is left for the fans to figure out on our own.
Shinji must be a lone worrier - seeing his bankai.. he can't use it if he is with a group.

Makes sense, shinji has the only illusion type zanpakuto in the series not used by an antagonist. Add to that, the fact that bankai are huge, and I don't think he can accurately aim it. I think it just covers an enormous area, or effects everyone in that area. And yeah, I could totally see Yamamoto banning him from using his bankai unless certain conditions were met.
Shinji's bankai was never banned, i don't know from where people get this, he didn't use it for obvious reasons. The only bankai we know was banned, it was kurayashiki's.

I think through context we can gather one thing. Central 46 might've banned the use of hollowfication by former captains and vice captains from the vizards. We see it very rarely from them after the Aizen Arc is finished so I believe that's why. I'm not saying this is explicitly what had happened but it is a very plausible answer given central 46s actions in the past.
A shikai for bosses and bankai for soldiers.
The crazy thing about his new Shikai from TYBW is that it affects the ears as well, which completely inverses the body's gyroscopic senses as well, meaning that it becomes ACTUALLY impossible to know where you are, where you're facing, etc.
The vicroys don’t go hollow out of respect for tradition in the soul society and for the balance of the serite , . That’s why shinji didn’t use his mask .
Turn back the Pendulum is still till this day my favourite arc - Shinji bankai is one of the best in my opinion. Plus, Hirako's the most bad ass moment - "Since you were in your mother's womb" - mind blown.
When will people ever stop lying about this/spreading misinformation? Shinji's Bankai isn't banned at all, it was just a false translation from fans that started spreading online and now everyone thinks its true. Again, his Bankai IS NOT banned nor is it forbidden by Yamamoto. 🤦♂🤦♂

Yeah, it's never said to be banned. The only Zanpakuto ever banned (that we know of) belonged to the 6th (or was it 7th?) Kenpachi as its activation would destory the entire Seireitei in a moment. Even Yamamoto's Bankai couldn't do that. Not unless he wanted it, too
Yet, because Shinji's already op shikai and super op bankai were used against Bambietta, he lowered his guard which allowed Bambi to critically injure him and another Quincy to kill him later on. Sad, really.

Graced by the bleach god my ass, Kubo did Shinji dirty throughout the series, using him to make others shine. The fact his bankai wasn’t even in the Manga is another issue all together 😒💔
Looking back at the Karkura Arc, it made no sense that Aizen was surprised by Shinji’s shikai, he was his captain and served directly under him for years. Plus, it’s not like he couldn’t ask around.
Remember he faked being a subordinate,using another guy and masking him with his shikais mentally imposed illusions.
It made perfect sense. People don't just go around showcasing their abilities, and Shinji knew he was trouble and specifically avoided showing Aizen his Shikai. Prior to these events, most of the Gotei didn't know eachothers Zanpakuto abilities.

As far as I recall, there were only a couple of banned Zanpakuto releases... and Shinji's isn't one of them. He chooses not to use it because it's useless when among allies. Central 46 and/or Yamamoto didn't make any ruling against him using it.

I thought of a bankai called: Bankai, Technical Foul Piercing Pallets/Roses Of Calamity which allows the user to control basically nature itself and vines of tree's or even send flowers at enemies that will pierce into them and can even drown them from inside those flowers can turn into weapons inside of the users mind but in order for that to happen the user must be focused on spawning the weapon of their preference for example mine would be a katana and not only that If used at full power it can even cut through the fabric of reality bringing the user into the true form of the Banking known as: Bankai Dimensional Purgatorial Crisis which allows the user to manipulate basically reality itself or control the environment wherever the person steps including bringing them to whatever dimension the user wants like a dimension the size of infinity/ a void allowing them to battle it out basically a bankai for a draw in the end

it only had a effect in CFYOW against the creations of Ikomikidomoe and against the Quincies in the TYBW Anime.
The only thing that was technically banned was that Captains can't use their Hollow Mask anymore (even not Ichigo since the Fullbring Arc)

True, but they also didn't really know that hollows were poisonous to Quincies at the time. Only Urahara knew, which is why he came up with the solution. Shinji didn't use his Bankai because he wasn't sure exactly how the Quincy worked and, when given access to a pill that is supposed to help, why not use it even if it's redundant?

Not really it could be just tht their hollowfication is different from ichigo’s . His is at natural and genetic level making its more complex and complete. The vizards is something that was forced onto them making the connection less complete and perfect so it just be like layered onto of their powers.

The whole point of that fight was to try and force Bambi into a state of panic, where she would call he friends back. That's why he keeps fucking with her and taunting her about being alone. He wanted to use Bankai against a whole group of Sternritter, so he could take them all out at once.
Why he decided to explain this when fighting Aizen... I'll say that Shinji was pissed and trying to lord it over Aizen that he had hypnosis powers too? It was definitely a dumb move.
