Been trying to get my doctor to lower the high pressure setting. It would ramp up in the middle of the night and wake me up blowing out my mask. So I would turn it off so it would start again at 4. But then it seemed to ramp up quicker. Doc was reluctant and set it one lower, not enough. Thanks to you I can adjust it to my comfort level. Thanks for giving me a long night's sleep! I love my dream station. I tried the recall replacement and sent it back. It's a terrible, terrible design. I ordered a replacement foam chamber from Amazon and changed it myself. I'm good to go now.

My cpap died last night and it would be 3 weeks before I could get another. My coworker gave me a Dreamstation but it was locked in at 7 and on auto. Your video saved me. I was able to set it at 14 and on cpap. Thank you for the clear guidance in your video.

Kudos for the video content! Sorry for butting in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Franaar Painless Smile Formula (probably on Google)? It is a smashing exclusive product for crushing your snoring or sleep apnea problem minus the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my friend at last got excellent results with it.
Fantastic job on the step-by-step set of instructions, very informative for anyone to view this video and to make adjustments as necessary to the machine in-order to receive a good night rest. Truly appreciate your time making this video.
Philips should pay this guy. His 3-minute video solved my issues whereas the various instructions included with my Dream Station replacement (recalled machine), customer service in Colorado (think it was actually India though), and various emails from Philips only served to confuse!

Nice video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you considered - Franaar Painless Smile Formula (search on google)? Thank you so very much from a very grateful Aussie. My wife has a new Phillips Dreamstation BiPap Avap machine provided due to recall. The ramp time was unable to be accessed. Your video is the only one that I found that showed the work-around to adjust the ramp time for my wifes sleep. As five minute setting was not adequate for her to comfortably go to sleep. Once again your information was incredibly helpful, and has contributed to a more comfortable machine user.
Thank you so much for this clip. I tried long time to find the way to adjust my Cpap pressure as I bought the used machine and seemed all was set and fixed. I likely need more pressure than the previous user and even the manual didn’t tell us enough info how to use the machine. This video is the best as it is very helpful to me.
This was such a help. As we get older, our lungs get less elastic. Old Pressure was prescribed 14 years ago.(11) With a pulse oximeter....and checking it during the night, I can safely turn old pressure setting up, one click at a time, until I don't wake up , with my heart beating too fast, because of lack of oxygen. Now, I can change my setting. I do believe you should have a sleep apnea test......... to begin with. I do have a friend, who will not wear her CPAP.... it's set too high............ Don't give up hope............I cried tears, the first 3 nights of CPAP. Then the 4th night... I had the best sleep of my life. I no longer felt so sleepy during the day, I was falling asleep, tired, and couldn't drive anywhere, without falling asleep and can't keep eyes open. Then I got energy and lost 30 lbs!!! Now I love it, and I can not sleep without a CPAP.
My machine was part of the recall. I received my “new” machine it was set at 4 my original defected one was set to 9. I cannot thank you enough for showing how to change this!
Thank you. I finally got my replacement machine from the recall and it wasn’t set correctly. After watching your video I was able to locate the settings on the old machine and set up the new one. I appreciate the info.
Yooooooooo...thank you SO MUCH for this, sir. I haven't been to a sleep doctor in years, because it accomished nothing except them making money off of me. I recently got a factory reset new machine and needed to adjust it myself and this was so helpful. Thank you! ❤
Thank you, this was a lifesaver. My new Dr. said he was going to request that respironics remove a setting my previous Dr. had set. They instead turned my lower setting to almost nothing. My machine was blasting me at the high setting then dropping to nothing with every breath. I couldn't sleep. To make this even better they did this on a Friday night when there's no way I can call the doctor and ask them to have it changed again. Mine must be an older unit because a lot of the settings in this video are not on there but I was able to set the lower setting back up. Much more comfortable. Edited to remove the actual numbers. You type stupid things when you're tired and can't think.
Thank you. After 4 years I started snoring with the face mask in place. Because of this video I could bump it up a little to solve the problem. Very helpful.

Thank you! I’m not a fan of my sleep doctor’s office/practice, and I needed to bump up my pressure. I thought I was going to have to suffer with getting an appointment, but this video saved me from having to deal with them. Thank you! Amazing video!
Thank you! The manual is vague on how to use all the features. Bad that. Very highly appreciate this!!! I wanted the pressure lower and to stay there as once ramp ticks over from 4 to 11 it's far too strong
I have had NO ONE checking on my machine, my compliance, how it is working, etc. I told my MD my mask (FitLife) was ending up leaking and the pressure was going too high because if it, next thing I knew, I was swallowing air all night and waking up with a belly full of air...she said I needed another sleep study when I suggested someone to check the pressure settings. NO, I don't need another sleep study, I need the top pressure to be lowered so I'm not swallowing air when my mask invariably leaks. (I am a side sleeper, it gets moved, whatever) Thank you! I brought the top pressure down and hopefully down far enough so that I am not getting a belly full of air every night anymore. Thank you!

Thank you so much. I bought this unit from a woman who never used it. Her settings were at 20mmhg. IP and EP. This made it impossible to use and practically blew the mask off my face. Now I have a working machine at my prescribed setting.
Thanks for your help. My healthcare provider changed the settings at my last visit without informing me of this. The increased pressure made it uncomfortable, and more difficult to fall asleep.
Thank you for this video. I got a new replacement machine that didn't transfer the old settings. Now I can use my machine this weekend since respironics help line isn't open untill Mon. Thank you again.
Man what a helpful video my cpap would for some reason keep going to 16 or 18 b4 I fell asleep even b4 the 45 min time. I would have to tighten the strap so tight it was uncomfortable literally pulling it off my face. Thanks for the info.

I lost my " preheat" icon completely! It vanished! I went into therapy and re-established my humidification ( humidifier is NOT HEATING at all, (even though when therapy is on, I still have humid setting in lower right, on the screen that shows my pressure in big circle) so I clicked in " comfort" what I had before from my DME, so what do I click to RESET THESE NEW SETTINGS? ? I don't have heated tube. THX! Update: My son (software developer) restored the "preheat" by going in "advanced settings" , I took the modem out the other day(day before humid stopped heating) to show him the chip, and put it back in... he said maybe doing that reset to default/not advanced setting since some machines don't have the preheat humidifier , wish me luck, what a great service you are doing!

My replacement machine came with the settings my doctor wanted and I had no issues for 8 months when it died. I got a new one and it died 9 months later. The third one made it 8 months. I am on the 4th one now and it only needs to last until February when I can get a Resmed machine. I hated the design of this one from day 1. My doctor said she never thought this one would be sent as a replacement because of the issues associated with it. Thanks for the video help. DS 2 is crap . Should have kept DS 1
I was very surprised that sometimes the correct adjustment is down! They set my initial pressure off of data to 12.5 psi and my AHI numbers were around 8 to 10. I lowered my pressure to 10 psi and my AHI numbers reduced to around 5. Then I further reduced it to 9 psi and my AHI numbers now bounce between 1 and 2...
I am happy to hear your AHI has decreased. Please share that information with your physician and Respshop wishes you the best of luck with your cpap therapy.

Do you know if there is a way to change the breathing rate? It seems when I exhale there is like a 2-3 (sometimes) longer delay to when the machine forces air into the tube. That delay is causing me to still have apnea events (i stop breathing) Shouldn't it breathe with me and not against my timing ? Does that make sense? I have severe apnea ( around 75) so I'm basically having an event every time I exhale and if the machine waits a few seconds it's basically not helping.. thanks!
My suggestion would be to speak to your Dr and see if the Aflex is on and if so have them turn it off. Alfex is a comfort feature where the pressure is dropped on exhale. Thank you for watching, we are glad you enjoyed the video. Please don't forget to Like and Subscribe for more CPAP and Sleep Apnea related videos.
Hi there. Thanks for sharing. I need more pressure. How do I change the ramp time? It has a lock icon on the screen. It is set to 4, which is half what I need. Will it let me adjust it with the lock on the screen? Is there a way to get around this set setting? Thanks.
Glad i foudn this knfor j have this same bipap but no longer use it i have a resmed air curve 10 now and my dad needs. Cpap machine and i set it up for him to use and he didnt need to vuy a new one
Just ensure the BIPAP is safe to use due to the recall. Also we recommend a Doctor to initially set the machine up as they will ensure the therapy pressures are what your dad will need. Remember too much pressure may cause increase levels of CO2 and not enough may cause untreated apneas to occur.
Good vid, thumbs up My wife’s machine used to display 6.0 when she started it but now every time she turns it on now it’s at 8.5. Could you explain how to change it back. Thanks

My cpap died last night and it would be 3 weeks before I could get another. My coworker gave me a Dreamstation but it was locked in at 7 and on auto. Your video saved me. I was able to set it at 14 and on cpap. Thank you for the clear guidance in your video.
You're welcome :) We're glad we saved you from 3 CPAP-less weeks! Thank you for watching and please don't forget to like and subscribe. That'd really help us on TH-cam!
Bro I have had this machine since 2016 and refused to use it. I'm paying the consequences dearly and am THANKFUL that you have this video posted with a 2020 time stamp! My luck! Thank you brother
Hi Seon, thanks for the support! In the meantime, let us know what content you'd want to see in the future :)

Hello Tony,

Nice video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you considered - Franaar Painless Smile Formula (search on google)? It is a smashing one off product for crushing your snoring or sleep apnea problem without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my old buddy Taylor after many years got excellent success with it.

Old Pressure was prescribed 14 years ago.(11)
With a pulse oximeter....and checking it during the night, I can safely turn old pressure setting up, one click at a time, until I don't wake up , with my heart beating too fast, because of lack of oxygen.
Hi! Thank you for watching and for sharing your own CPAP journey. 🥰

You're welcome!

Same
Thank you! The manual is vague on how to use all the features. Bad that. Very highly appreciate this!!! I wanted the pressure lower and to stay there as once ramp ticks over from 4 to 11 it's far too strong
Glad it helped!
Thank you!
I am sorry to hear you haven't felt supported in your CPAP journey. Feel free to contact our office and speak to a medical staff at 1866 936 3754.

Man what a helpful video my cpap would for some reason keep going to 16 or 18 b4 I fell asleep even b4 the 45 min time. I would have to tighten the strap so tight it was
uncomfortable literally pulling it off my face.

I swear it didn’t used to be this difficult to get into the settings. This is the second night in a row where my water has depleted entirely and I had to find this video at 6 am to figure out where my settings went
We are hoping the video was helpful. You cannot see your humidifier setting in the patient setting it may mean your provider has some of the extra features turned off. Outstanding video thank you so much!
Thank you for the kind words! Sorry to hear you were dealing with so many issues, but happy to hear you got them resolved!
Unless this one does not make it to February which I would never count on!
Thank you!!! Needed this now!!!!

I don't think I ever would have found that other menu to be able to change the pressure. Changes everything.
Thanks for the support! Don't forget to subscribe for more amazing content!
Can my doctor tell remotely if I have changed the settings? You are awesome btw!
Yes, the Dr will be notified of any pressure changes by looking at your data. Thank you for your kinds words. Please don't forget to Like and Subscribe for more CPAP content.

I have severe apnea ( around 75) so I'm basically having an event every time I exhale and if the machine waits a few seconds it's basically not helping.. thanks!
Hi there, Thank you for reaching out to Respshop! Feel free to call our Respiratory Therapist 866-936-3754
My suggestion would be to speak to your Dr and see if the Aflex is on and if so have them turn it off. Alfex is a comfort feature where the pressure is dropped on exhale.

Hi there. Thanks for sharing. I need more pressure. How do I change the ramp time? It has a lock icon on the screen. It is set to 4, which is half what I need. Will it let me adjust it with the lock on the screen? Is there a way to get around this set setting? Thanks.
Hello Michael,
you may need to contact your provider to see if the clinical setting as been locked.
Thank you for watching!

@@RespShop i have the pressures that he needs already thanks for the advice
Good vid, thumbs up
My wife’s machine used to display 6.0 when she started it but now every time she turns it on now it’s at 8.5.
Could you explain how to change it back.
Thanks
You would need to change her Min pressure to 6.0. The video shows you how to access your clinical settings and change that. Feel free to rewatch the video or give our medical team a call. I tried this method before, and it did work. But as i intent the exact same steps to get into the pressure change option, it dsnt open. Do they control or block one from getting into that feature?
No, this should work for you to access the clinical menu. If you are still having issues please contact us at 1-866-936-3754. Thank you
