haha don't be scared! Try it out the worst that can happen is that the beat comes out trash who cares. i'm sure either way you'd learn something new in the process!
This is so cool- I’ve tried on several occasions to make like a more “mainstream” sounding song in an unusual time signature (even though 3/4 it’s thattttt unusual) and they always turn out like awkward
love the grind ed. go all-out this 2020, you will accomplish your goals this year man.your talented in your music and production and you are great in front of the camera, love the content man.
Me watching this video : "Will he put a flute in this beat 🤔?" Obviously, the answer is yes 😂. I love the vibe you created with this beat 🙏! I think I understand a bit the concept of 3/4 but not totally :/. Can you explain time signatures in a video 😅?
The 4 tells you that the beat is in crotchets and the 3 tells you how many crotchets in a bar usually songs are in 4/4 which is 4 crotchets in a bar thats probably why its hard to get your head around 3/4
this channel is awesome. I just recently started playing around with garage band to see how I could do with just a basic entry level platform. i jumped on splice to find some extra sounds to use since I have no plug ins, instruments, etc. so really nothing lol anyhow after 13 projects so far i'm getting the hang of it and really enjoying all this. planning to get logic pro x, a midi keyboard, and then slowly grow the home studio as needed. i know people shit on splice but for a newbie it's not exactly easy taking tons of little one shots short loops and making them into something that actually sounds good, plus i'm definitely missing some features the full daw has but for now i'm really happy with things. i still add my own midi to everything just with the mac keyboard but it's mostly just finding, combining, and rearranging different sounds until they flow nicely together. it's a start, but i can't wait to expand this a bit and get some stuff to make more from scratch. the best part is making the type of music i like. i like smooth melodies, but with strong bass, and a good slap behind them like trap beats, which I don't really hear much of especially these days so making beats that remind me of those really unique 90's, early 2000's sounds from growing up is a lot of fun. making a song that has a melody like it's been awhile from staind that hits like a song at the club is awesome. it's been fun too just diving into all this and learning about mixing, mastering, music theory, etc. still so far to go but it's been a fun road to start on
4 years later I'm finding this video. Did anyone ever rap to this? Because I've just been messing around freestyling to this and I'd love to dust off the pen to take a shot at it
I been vibing with 3/4 just recently! So underrated. Best 3/4 rap song I've heard lately is "Let Me Go" by NF. Definitely worth checking out. Fire as always ET!
Mad respect for being a "real" musician (folks, dont take it the wrong way but I describe it like this) and not like the regular hiphop who's more like EDM. Always had a 88 key keboard but never really learned how to play things for real until last year. I bought a Roland TD17 e-drumset (because apartment) last feb and a trumpet (not played much because apartment :D), accordion (from grandma) and electric guitar last autumn and learning more about sound design, theory and how real sounds are made are the fucking greatest thing I ever done to my music. Musics the best thing ever. BIG UPS ED TALENTI!! Your videos got so much interesting to watch since you do all this "real" instruments. Shows you love music for the art. Have you done anything in 5/4?? Thats a really funky time signature, but maybe more for some boom bap. I havent come by to compose anything for it yet though. I've seen your 7/8, thats genious for trap.
Great! Very creative :) Good drummer by the way. What really amazes me also in your videos is the loudness! I see it's been normalized at 59% here and still it's powerful and blows somewhat the -14 LUFS limitation! I really don't know how to boost the sound this way... Any advise, tricks or tips? That would be great ;) Thanks.
3/4 is generally gonna sound off beat in hip hip period... Much easier vibes with 6/8 because you still have a 2 and 4 back beat. I respect you shooting your shot tho.
Thanks good content I actually made a beat one day like finished beat and really something was unusual with the timing 😅 it was in 3/4 then I sparked me somehow like Okay don’t you have exemple of such songs I could listen to? By the way ur drumming is lit 🔥 u shud mix the electronic with the a recorded version of ur live I’m telling you will kill the game
Because it is 6/8. One can count it in 3/4 but the beat feels like 6/8 because it is. He chose that because it very hard to make a 3/4 waltz slap, or danceable in a hip hop setting (or even a break dancing session -- it can be done, but it will feel a bit to repetitive to dance to, becasue dancers dance to phrasing in the music, and 3/4 phrasing is very short unless you play over the measures or slow it WAY down. 3/4 for or 3/8 for that matter, emphasize the 1 and the back beat is on 2 and 3 or just 3. It's not the feel of hip hop.

3 means 3 beats per measure/bar. 4 means a quarter note = 1 beat.
3 beats per bar and 4 bars per measure
yoooo that 808s is fire
Thanks bro!
Kanye West song "space ship" is 3/4 also ... check out Crucial Conflict song "Explode"

3/4th trap is the new wave. I been preparing for this day🔥🔥
This is wonderful to listen to. 3/4 is such a beautiful time signature but rarely seen in trap beats. Thank you for this.
Won’t Back Down by Eminem and Pink is one of the only 3/4 rap songs I know. 3/4 is such a powerful ts. It just slams you in the face.

There's tons of genres out there exploring time signatures. People just haven't really done it with trap quite yet!
EdTalenti fr, i made a beat in 5/4, its fire fire
Man I woke up with this video on my mind. You opened a whole new world for me.
Grazie mille fratello italiano :)
If you count 6/8 it’s easier to groove to this. Fire music 🔥
